Crisp, James “Jim” Wilburn, age 83, of Douglasville, GA formerly of Loudon Co., passed away Sunday June 12, 2005 at Embracing Hospice in Jonesboro, GA. He was of the Baptist faith. Jim was a veteran and was in the Upholstery Business. He was the son of the late James Franklin and Nora Bell Goins Crisp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jenkins Crisp; son, David Allen Crisp; daughter, Sherry Kaye Thompson and grandson, Danny Nix. Edsell, Michael Joe of the Karns Community, Knoxville, passed away early Saturday morning, June 18, 2005. Michael was born September 28, 1964. He was a graduate of Karns High School. Thomas Cain, 55, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005, after battling Multiple Myeloma. Thomas spent his life devoted to Education, working 34 years in the Pontiac, MI School District and Oakland, MI Schools where he served the last 5 years as Teachers Union President. Prior to that, he spent 29 years teaching Auto Body Repair at Oakland Schools Technical Campus, Northeast Center (formerly known as NEOVEC). Thomas, a graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI went on to receive an Associates Degree from Ferris State College, a Bachelors Degree from Oakland University, and a Masters in Education from Wayne State University. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. Thomas loved to spend time following the Detroit Red Wings as a season ticket holder. He spent his summers sailing the Great Lakes on his beloved boat – the Sea-Sun Ticket III. He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Cain. Survivors include his mother, Eva Cain, his brother, Michael Cain and wife Martha, his niece, Karen Cain and nephew Alexander Cain. He was also loved and will be missed by many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins in Michigan and Tennessee. Filipowicz, Mary Moselle, of Knoxville, born December 23, 1917 and born into eternal life on Monday, June 20, 2005, surrounded by family and friends. Her journey began in Fancy Farm KY, in Ballard County, near Paducah KY with her parents, William Joseph and Bridget Monica Castleman. Her parents and all her brothers have gone before her. She was married January 9, 1942 to her sweetheart, the late Stanley Filipowicz, who she met during the war. They lived happily together in Omaha NE and Toledo OH for over 50 years. All her life she was a homemaker, a wonderful cook. and the heart of the Filipowicz family. Remeta, Richard Andrew Sr., age 75, of Knoxville, TN passed away Thursday evening, June 23, 2005 at Park West Medical Center. Richard attended St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He was retired from North American Phillips (Magnavox). Richard was a graduate of Linden High School in New Jersey Class of 1947. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1954. In 1954 he was commissioned as an officer in the U S Air Force. He served two years active duty as a radar maintenance officer and twenty years of service in the reserves as a Liasion Officer for the United States Air Force Academy, retiring as a Major. Richard was an avid golfer. He volunteered for the FISH Pantry delivering bakery items. He loved trains, military aircraft and antique cars. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Anna Remeta and granddaughter, Meghann Bramlett. Benker, Lamar Ralph, age 77, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005, at his home. He was a member of Sixth Ave. Church of God. He served in the United States Navy after World War II. Lamar was a retired machinist from Martin Marietta in Oak Ridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Onie Etta Benker; grandsons, Derek and Eric Benker. Claudino, Irene Rose, age 99, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, passed away Saturday evening, June 25, 2005. Irene was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. She was an avid seamstress and loved needle work. Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Telluride, Colorado in 1905. Preceded in death by her husband, John Claudino, who died in 1960. Survivors include her son, John Claudino of Los Angeles, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Jim Polhamus of Tellico Village; grandchildren: Mary Conroy and husband, Dennis, Jean Kihn and husband, Jeff, Jim Polhamus IV and wife, Mary Louise, John Polhamus and wife, Michelle, Susan and Christopher Claudino; 16 great grandchildren; nephew, Hal Baerg and wife, Pauline. Effie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Golden, age Sunday School Class. She retired from the Eaton Corporation working 22 years as a lock assembler. Effie was an avid quilter, homemaker and gardener. Preceded in death by her husband, Eaph Hall; daughter, Joy Ann Hall; brothers: Estel, Luskar and John Cornett; sister, Debbie Cassidy; son-in-law, Bob J. Smith. Simmons, Teresa (Terri) age 50 of Lenoir City, formerly of Concord, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, June 5, 2006 at Park West Hospital. Terri was a member of Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was an employee of CareMark in Hardin Valley. Terri was an avid animal lover, and had many horses, dogs, cats and chickens.
