Evans, Mary Nelle, age 87, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007 at her home. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a retiree of the Lenoir City school system. Mary Nelle was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles R. Evans, Jr.; parents, J. O. and Pearl Dial; an infant sister and brother. Margaret Long Ragland, age 88, of Jackson, MS, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 20, 2007, at NHC Cavett Hill in Knoxville, TN. Margaret was a charter member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Jackson, MS, and had taught Young Girls and Ladies Bible Classes for many years. She published two books and was an accomplished artist. Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Long Sutherland. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Sidney L. Ragland; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Jack Bender of Farragut, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Jewell Ragland of Birmingham. Walter Steven Spears, age 52, of Nashville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Friday, June 15, 2007 in Ocean Isle, NC. Steve graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Archeology. He was a singer/songwriter and music was his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Spears. George Lawson, age 94, of Rt. 3, Loudon, went home to be with his heavenly father on Monday, June 25, 2007. George was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a coal miner for 25 years and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing in his retirement. George was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; infant sons, Donald and Lewis; father and mother, Lewis and Martha Lawson; brothers, Rant and Jeff; sisters, Lizzie, Mallie, Dora, Ella, Virgie and Fannie; sons-in-law, Matt Caldwell, Jim Miles and Thedford Reese; granddaughter, Barbara Ann Reese and grandsons, Dustin and Justin Harvey. Michael "Perry" Noble, age 42, of Lenoir City, TN, formerly of Eden, NC, passed away at Noon on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at his home after a battle with lung cancer. Perry was a truck driver and a former US Marine. Perry was preceded in death by his mother, Isla Fraley Noble. Survivors: wife of 11 years, Sharon Noble; children, Megan, age 15 and Cody, age 17; father and step mother, Ronald and Joan Noble of Reidsville, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa and Ross West of Summerville, SC, Mindy and Timothy Hutchins of Old Fort, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Glenda Noble of Cleveland, NC; nieces, Caroline, Catharine, Colleen, Madison and Rachel; nephews, Rayce, Laydon and Jackson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leon and Marie Lively of Lenoir City.
