Bush, Thelma Brown, age 92, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003. She was a member of Tennessee Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Bill and Dora McNabb Brown; husband, Ralph Bush; daughter, Vivian Jean Pickel; brothers, Ralph, Martin and Garland. Scriven, Jeanne, age 75, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 at her home. Jeanne was a member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Horace M. Scriven; daughter, Margaret Scriven; parents, Paris and Eva Mason Chadwell; brothers, Virgil Chadwell and Robert James Chadwell; and sister, Irene Yeary. Survived by sister, Lorene Pate of Lenoir City; son, Gary Scriven and wife, Ruby of Lenoir City; step-daughters, Wilma McCoig, Alice Bivens and husband, Allen; grandchildren, Gary Wayne Scriven of Liberty, S.C., Andrea Wiggins and husband, Teddy of Lenoir City, and Susan Scriven of Columbia, S.C.; six step -grandchildren; great grandchildren, Emily Wiggins and Rebecca Wiggins; several nieces and nephews. Morgan, Frances Genett Dyer "Mamaw", age 86, of Lenoir City went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Frances was of the Protestant Faith. She worked at Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill for 19 years before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. where she retired from the Broward County School System. Frances was born to the late Jim and Pearl Palmer Dyer. Preceded in death by husband, Floyd (Busselltown) Morgan; sons, Stanley Morgan, Lynn Morgan, and Danny Morgan; daughter, Blondie Morgan Krouse; son-in-law, Gilbert (Bunky) Krouse; sister, Ruth Gibboney of FL.; brothers, Charles (Chuck) Dyer of Maryville, William (Bill) Dyer of Roane Co. Survivors, brothers and sister-in-law, James B. Simpson, Warren Alexander, age 68, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday evening, March 31, 2003 at the Loudon Healthcare Center. Warren was retired from Lenoir City Utilities Board. A member of Highland Park Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Preceded in death by grandfather, A. A. Myers; parents, Lake and Axie Simpson. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Packett Simpson; son, Jeff Simpson of the home; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Dunn, Jean Luttrell - of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2004 after a long illness. Jean was an active member of Business and Professional Women until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Magnolia Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Andrew Dunn; parents, Fate and Fannie Luttrell of Martel, Tenn.; sisters, Edna Watson, Hazel Denton, Lucille Pinkston and Mildred Hubbs; and brother, Clayton Luttrell. Murphy, Judith "Judy" Lynn, age 53, of the Hardin Valley Community in Knox County, TN, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2004 at Parkwest Hospital while she was surrounded by her family. She battled a terminal illness for over 25 years, yet, despite the pain and inconvenience it caused, she always maintained a positive attitude and love for life, Jesus and her family to the very end. She also never allowed her condition to interfere with taking care of her family, or even strangers. She was truly a model of love, faith and hope. Judy was born in Ashland, Kentucky on October 26, 1950. On September 18, 1971 she married her best friend and the love of her life, Bill Murphy, Jr. In 1973 and 1975, she gave birth to her two sons, Jason and Josh, respectfully. When her sons married in 1999 and 2000, she acquired the two daughters, Amy and Missy, which she always wanted. Finally, on November 1, 2002, she obtained her most favorite title, grandmother, when Parker Matthew Murphy was born. Second only to her love of Jesus and her family, Judy loved the symphony. She also loved UT athletics and attended various sporting events whenever she was able. She was an active member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, WIC, and various other organizations. Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Bill Murphy, Jr.; her children, Jason Murphy and wife, Missy and Joshua Murphy and wife, Amy; her grandson, Parker Matthew Murphy; her parents, Tom and Pauline Hunt; her parents-in-law, Bill Murphy, Sr. and Diane Murphy; her sisters, Terri Payne and husband (Ham), Jeannie Hunt; her brother-in-law, Don Murphy; her niece, Angela Harrison; her nephew, E. J. Harrison; and numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Dr. Robert Montgomery, Dr. Caroline Cooley and Dr. Albert Ebenezer for their years of treatment, dedication and friendship. They also wish to express their heart-felt thanks to the nurses of the Western Avenue and West Knox Dialysis Centers, Parkwest Hospital and Fort Sanders Regional Hospital whose treatment, care and compassion were truly angelic. Young, Tammy Sue Smith, age 45, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2004. She was a beloved mother, daughter and sister. Preceded in death by her father, R.L. Smith; infant brother, Jeffery Mark Smith and her grandparents, Carl and Grace Smith, Hattie Duggan and Jess Edwards. Tammy is survived by her son, Bryson Cody Young; mother, Kate Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and George Hardin; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Diane Smith; nephews: Tanner Hardin, Travis and Josh Smith; aunts and uncles: Jim and Inez Edwards, Dick and Sue Jane Rosenbaum and Alice Smith; special friend, Jim Walden and many cousins and friends also survive. Tinnel, Kenneth Howard, age 76, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2004, at his home. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Howard was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Navy and Army. He was a member of the Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F & AM and was retired from United Engineering. Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mary Lou Tinnel; brothers, Harry Tinnel, Allen Tinnel and an infant brother; special aunt, Agnes (Gussie) Henson. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie Martin Tinnel; children, Joel Tinnel and wife, Laura of Manassas, VA and Mary Jane Carmichael and husband, Ken of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Kirk and Alex Tinnel, Aiden and Aaron Carmichael; brothers, Ivan Tinnel and wife, Barabara, Bob Tinnel and wife, Violet, Johnny Tinnel and wife, Pat; several nieces and nephews. Brown, Bert Elmer, age 98, of the Poplar Springs Community, Kingston, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Rockwood Health Care Center. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Bert was born on a farm in Green Co. TN on May 22, 1905 into the family of William and Ella Brown. He was the next to the youngest of 13 children. Bert married James Stella "Maude" Moore on July 4, 1928. Maude passed away November 1984. They were married 56 years. The union of these two wonderful people produced a total of 175 living offspring. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; children, Clifford Elmer Brown, Mary Ade Brown, James Alvin Brown and Roy Lee Brown; 6 grandchildren, Robert Brown, Gary Lane, James Lee, Lois Marie Rasar, Bradley Packett and Clyde Brown; 12 brothers and sisters. Survived by children, Gladys Morelock of Ohio, Dorothy Lee of Rockwood, Louise Martin and Betty Richards both of Kingston, Paul Brown of Midtown, Bobby Brown of Michigan, George Brown of North Carolina, Leonard Brown and Richard Brown both of Kingston and Raymond Brown of Georgia; 44 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; 61 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Holliday, Jean Gail Southern - Lenoir City, passed away Friday, March 5, 2004 at the St. Mary's Residential Hospice. born July 28, 1935, born again 1945 Oak Grove Baptist Church, returned to the father on March 5, 2004. Jean was born during hard times and weathered hard times with grace all her life. She was a student at Mabscott Elementary, graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1955, and attended the University of Tennessee until she began working full-time which she continued until her diagnosis. She loved people, and enjoyed working. She was a member of The International Operating Engineers Local Union #917 where she was employed for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of Saint Mary's Residential Hospice, Dr. Antonucci and Dr. Rice, and their staff. We would also like to thank The Brain Tumor Center at Duke with Dr. V. and Dr. Freidman, and all their kind staff. A special thank you to all those who sent flowers during her illness. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Hall; brother, George Graham and foster mother, Vada Sue Holland. Brown, Woodrow W., age 90, of Hardin Valley Community, Knoxville went to be with the Lord late Saturday evening, March 6, 2004 at Park West Hospital. Woodrow was a long time member of Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a dairy and beef farmer, and was an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. C. and Maude Sharp Brown; brothers, Ed, Clayton and Gene Brown; sisters, Nell Greene and Marietta Huff. Survivors: wife of 64 years, Nell Hardin Brown; son and daughter-in-law, George and Sylvia Brown of Farragut; granddaughters, Tracy Brown of Sevierville, Michelle Hammack and husband, Tim of Lenoir City; great grandson, Joseph Hammack. Gambill, Doris Lents (Mrs. Jesse) of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William S. Lents of Knoxville. She was a member of the Dixie Lee Baptist Church and a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gambill. She is survived by her brother, James M. Lents of Andersonville; beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Lents; special niece, Auretta Kirby, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday followed by Funeral Services at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev. Jim Clayton Officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Edgewood Cemetery in Knoxville for Graveside services and Interment. Robinson, Elden V. (Lum), age 79, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004 at his home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City for 56 years where he was Director of Sunday School, Member of the Choir and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Lum served in the U. S. Navy and served three years on the USS Robinson during World War II. He was a member of IBEW Local #760 for 52 years, the Vow Boys and American Legion Post #70. Lum was retired from Lenoir City Utilities Board with 30 years service where he was Superintendent of Operations. Preceded in death by parents, Jackson C. and Cora Hines Robinson; son, Jack Robinson. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Foystein (Fotchie) Robinson; daughters, Phoebe Masters, Kristi Quillen and husband, Gene; sons, John B. Robinson, Mark E. Robinson and wife, Kelley, Wade Lee Robinson and wife, Melanie; grandchildren, Lucas Whitworth, Rebekah Hamilton, Caleb Whitworth, Marie Robinson, Mary Robinson, Zachary Robinson, Caroline Robinson, Billy Wade Robinson and Caressa Robinson; great grandchildren, Devin Hamilton and Savannah Hamilton all of Lenoir City; several cousins. Friends may call at their convenience at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City on Saturday. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and immediately following the Service at First Baptist Church with Funeral Services to follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. C. E. Jackson III, Rev. Bill Wilkinson and Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers: John Robinson, Mark Robinson, Wade Robinson, Lucas Whitworth, Caleb Whitworth, Zachary Robinson and Bud Hines. Honorary pallbearers will be Lum's Girl's and spouses. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 2085 Simpson Road E., Lenoir City, TN 37772. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Elden (Lum) Robinson.
