Ruesch, Sharalyn, age 30, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly February 27, 2005, at her home. She was a loving mother, daughter and sister. Sharalyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Preceded in death by her husband, Scotty Monroe. She is survived by her three children: Sebastian, Nicholas and Christian; mother, Linda Whitaker; father, Lynn Ruesch; sisters: Cristy Ruesch, Kirsten Ruesch Nelson and Randi Ruesch; brother, Carl Ruesch; several nieces and nephews. Vinyard, Harold Gary, age 67, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Farragut Healthcare Center. Gary was a retired inspector with Lenoir City Car Works. He was a member of West Broadway Baptist Chuch. Preceded in death by his wife, Carol Vinyard; parents Cavada and Edna Pauline Vinyard; brothers, Kenneth and Clyde Vinyard; sister, Carol Jean Vinyard. deWolf, George Levay, age 81, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, passed away Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He grew up in Rhode Island, attended Moses Brown School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Brown University. For 20 years he was employed at General Electric Company in Ashland, MA during which time he created and had his name placed with GE on four patents. After 20 years with National Cash Register Company in Ithaca, NY he and his wife retired to Port LaBelle, FL, then thirteen years ago they moved to the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN where they were active in First Presbyterian Church, Lenoir City and more recently at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village. Preceded in death by parents and brother. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida May; 3 children, Carol Douglas of Fairbanks, AK, Alan deWolf and wife, Virginia of Tallahassee, FL and Glen deWolf and wife, Valerie of Plano, TX; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 2 brothers. Sidden, Jack Darrell, age 79, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon formerly of Texas, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at Park West Hospital in Knoxville. He attended the Tellico Village Community Church. Jack was retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during W. W. II. Preceded in death by mother, Lucille Lane Sidden and father, Darrell Sidden; first wife, Mary Helen Sidden and grandson, Dilan Burnette. Survived by wife of 19 years, Aurel Marie Sidden; daughter, Nancy Burnette and husband, George of San Antonio, TX; stepchildren, Michael Spencer, John P. Spencer and Isabel Hansen; grandchildren, Jean and Kristen Hansen, Grant Spencer, Ian Spencer and Trevor Spencer; sister, Anne Calvert; half sister, Phyllis Harvey; several nieces and nephews. Woodard, James Harris, age 93, of the Bradbury Community, Lenoir City TN, formerly of Vernal Mississippi, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Roane Medical Center. Harris was a member of Clinch View Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also an eight year veteran of the USMC as a China Marine and in WWII in the Pacific. Harris retired from the Atomic Energy Commission in Oak Ridge and continued to farm. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Amy Ann who passed away in 1999. Heimowski, Klara, age 74, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday at the Fort Loudoun Medical Center. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lenoir City and was a retired Teachers Aide. Klara was the wife of Gerhard Heimowski. Turner, Vera (Bessie) Lee Norton, 96, formerly of Gadsden, AL and Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday morning March 12, 2005 at the Springs Nursing Home in Daingerfield, TX. Bessie was a homemaker and a lifelong devoted member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Where she sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School, and was a past president of the Women's Missionary Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 Years, L. E. (Gene) Turner Sr., who was a former employee of Alabama Power CO in Gadsden; parents, Ernest Lockhart and Smyra Elizabeth Norton. Ghormley, William David (Doc), of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005. David was born October 31, 1923 in Lenoir City, TN. He graduated from LCHS in 1942. David enrolled in Tennessee Wesleyan College, Athens, TN and, after joining the U. S. Navy in December 1942, continued his education at TWC, Carson Newman College and University of Notre Dame. Upon completion of Midshipman’s School and receiving a commission as Ensign, USN, he volunteered to serve in Underwater Demolition Team 4 (Frogman), and was training for duty in the Pacific at the end of W W II. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, earning a BS in Finance and Economics. He returned from service in the Navy in 1946 to enter business with his father in operating the local Ford agency. In 1954 he left the automobile business and became an employee of Union Carbide Corporation at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he remained until retirement in 1982. David was very active in civic organization, joining the Junior Chamber of Commerce as a charter member, the Lenoir City Rotary Club, serving as president in 1962-63, and becoming a Paul Harris Fellow, which is the highest individual honor awarded by Rotary International. He served two terms on the Lenoir City Council, and was instrumental in formulating the first city budget. He was also active in the formation of the Boys Club in Lenoir City, served on, among many others, the first Education Task Force in Lenoir City. David was a life-long member of Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City where he sang in the choir for 60 years and taught Sunday School classes for over 50 years, holding virtually every office in the church administration during the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edgar and Julia Cleo Ghormley; sister, Alice Ann Cox and grandson, Edgar Ashley Ghormley. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Eunice Williams Ghormley; son, William David Jr. and wife, Suzanne; daughter, Becky Eaker and husband, David, both of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Susan Renee Ghormley of Lenoir City and Shelby Elizabeth Royston and husband, Chad of Morristown; grandson, Dr. Shannon Stewart Eaker and wife, Shawni of Los Alamos, NM; several nieces and nephews The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of River Oaks in Lenoir City and all Parkwest Unit Nurses and Doctors. Smith, Jack, age 88, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Baptist West Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church. A veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Army Battery C 208th Field Artillery Battalion. Jack was a member of American Legion Post #70 and D.A.V. He was retired from the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge after 35 years service where he worked as an Expediter. McGill, Nancy Jo Edmonds, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Baptist Hospital. She was a graduate of the Knoxville General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1952. Nancy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bearden Chapter #437. She was a retired nurse from Eastern State Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William Preston and Bess Edmonds; brother, Eddie Edmonds and sister, Willie Miles. Richeson, John G., age 76, of Knoxville died peacefully early Saturday morning, March 19, 2005 at Farragut Health Care Center after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Mr. Richeson was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Sistersville, West Virginia and was of the Methodist faith, former member of the Fairfield Glade Methodist Church. Growing up near the coal mines of West Virginia, he learned to love the sights and sounds of giant heavy equipment and spent a career designing, operating, repairing and teaching young mechanics the craft he loved. Mr. Richeson began his career as a Caterpillar scraper designer, worked on the Indiana Turnpike, was the service manager for W. W. Williams Co. and retired from TVA as the Supervisor of the TVA Central Shop, Watts Bar, where he designed and over saw the building of the most modern and innovative diesel equipment rebuild shop of it's time. He enjoyed boating and spent most of his retirement working at the Dartmoure Marina and playing golf at his home in Fairfield Glade. Mr. Richeson was preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Rose Richeson. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Sue, who stayed at his side throughout his long illness. He is also survived by his children and spouses, Sally and Ken Jones of Kingston, Connie and Michael Lance of Knoxville, Elizabeth and Randy Householder of Knoxville, John Jr. DDS and Deanna Richeson of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Laura and Melissa Lance of Knoxville, Kirk Richeson of Atlanta; sisters and spouses, Betty and Joe Davisson, Nancy and Dave Shelton all of Sun City West, AZ; a niece and 2 nephews. Mackay, John R. (Jack), age 81, of Knoxville, TN passed away Friday evening, March 18, 2005 at his home. Jack was a member of John XXIII Catholic Church. He was the first Lower School Headmaster at Webb School of Knoxville from 1968 to 1973. He was born and raised in the Cleveland Ohio area. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Army in the 106th Infantry and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a POW. He held a Masters degree in education from Kent State University. Jack was a lifelong educator. He was a Master Gardener and after his retirement he worked in the gardens at the City County Bldg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Grant Mackay. Survivors: wife of 55 years, Blanche Mackay; children and spouses, Robert and Bonnie Mackay of Swathmore, PA, Christine Mackay of Knoxville, Gregory and Katherine Mackay of Knoxville, Kenneth and Carol Mackay of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren, Anthony Morciglio, Ryan and Patrick Mackay, Hannah Mackay; sister, Dorothea Moller of PA; brothers, Richard and Donald Mackay both of OH; several; nieces and nephews. Lawhorn, Martha Ann, age 58, of Knox County, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2005 at U T Hospital. Martha was a member of Solid Rock Independent Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lawhorn; brother, Frank Huckleby. Survivors: children and spouses, Jo Marie Ferguson and husband Larry of Philadelphia, TN, Jesse Lawhorn and wife Wanda of Knoxville, Doris Glenn and husband Robert of Fountain, FL; grandchildren, Jess, James, Cyann and Nicole Ferguson, Pamela McCollum, Teresa Hurley, Lisa Highfill, Gary Nicely, Traci Forcucci, Robert Glenn III and wife Kristie, Tony Glenn; great granddaughter, Lucy Ferguson; sister, Barbara Jones of Blount County; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Funeral services 1 p.m. Wednesday at Solid Rock Independent Church, 800 Spring Street, Philadelphia with Rev. Lewis Garner and Rev. Jimmy Pellom officiating.
