Bivens, Pearl Zelma, age 77, of Maryville passed away Sunday March 20, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Zelma was a member of South Holston Baptist Church for many years. Preceded in death by her husband, Pearley Bivens; parents, James and Verna Dunn Petty; brothers: Dennis Petty, Richard Petty, Alec Petty, Bill Petty, Bob Petty and Luther Petty; sisters,Ruby Johnson and Carrie Turpin; grandson, James Russell. She is survived by her children, Lenora Russell of Greenback and Sharon Bivens of Maryville; grandchildren: Doug Bivens, LeAnn Haun, Darlene Caudill, Karen Potter, Brian Russell and Jason Russell; great grandchildren: Amanda, Michael, Eric, Crystal and Blake; brothers, Sam Petty and Edward Petty; several nieces and nephews. Duncan, Alva Cecil (A.C.), 84, of Loudon, passed away Monday, March 21, 2005 at Baptist Health Care Center. A. C. was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during W. W. II and during the Korean Conflict he served in the U. S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Blairland Baptist Church where he was Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for 25 years. Retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after 32 years service. Preceded in death by parents, Charles William Duncan and Emma Lindsey (Miss Emmie) Ross. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Lola Golden Duncan; daughters, Cynthia Rausin and husband, Everett of Lenoir City, Evelyn Polizzi and husband, Tom of Redondo Beach, CA; grandchildren, John Rausin and Diana Rausin of Lenoir City, Kathryn Polizzi of San Luis Obispo CA., LCpl. Whitehead, Martha Ellen Henderson, age 78, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, March 23, 2005. She was a member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church. Martha was a retired seamstress. She was preceded in death by husband, Floyd Whitehead; parents, Carl and Mary Bell Henderson and brother, Ed Henderson. He was a pharmacist for Walgreen's since 1995 and was a former owner of Ward's Drug Store in Buffalo. Jim was a former real estate broker in Buffalo and owner of ERA Property Services. He was preceded in death by his father, James Prendergast; sister, Susan Kubiak; brother, Terrence Prendergast. Jarnagin, Ray Franklin, age 80, of Lenoir City, formerly of Grainger County, passed away Tuesday morning, March 29, 2005 at Park West Hospital. Ray was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U S Navy serving in World War II. Ray was a Scoutmaster of Troop 390 of Blaine, TN. He was retired from Sears. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Tina Jones Jarnagin; brothers, Howard Jarnagin and Claude Jarnagin. Beason, Florence V. Hall, age 66, of Kingston, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away, Thursday evening, March 31, 2005. She was a member of Shepherd’s Fold Baptist Church in Loudon. Her husband, Rev. Everett Beason pastored several churches in Loudon County and several surrounding counties. Florence was preceded in death by her son, James Daryl Beason; granddaughter, Amanda Cagley Maher; her parents and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rev. Garrett, Rev. Arnold, age 68, of Knoxville, went home to be with Jesus Sunday morning, April 3, 2005 at Park West Hospital. Arnold was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. He was retired from White Lily with 38 years of years of service. He was a member of Powell Lodge #582 F&AM, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriner and the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of TN. A veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U S Army. He was a member of the Walking Club at West Town Mall. Arnold was preceded in death by parents, John Garrett and Mary Belle Worley Garrett Anderson; brothers, Willie, Richard Lee and Robert Garrett; sisters, Mable Phillips, Dovie Bynes and Louise Johnson. Survivors: wife, Naomi Garrett; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Gene and Jayma Garrett, Jeffrey and Janice Garrett, Rev. Catherine C. Mix joined her husband Albert in the arms of the Lord on Saturday afternoon, March 4, 2006. She was born on November 27, 1932, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, the youngest of 11 children. A resident of Knoxville, Tennessee since 1994, she raised her family in Garden City, Michigan, and also lived in Texas and Georgia. Cathie was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church, serving on the Prayer Chain, co-chairing senior lunches as a member of the Senior Kids, and serving as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. A graduate of Dyke-Spencerian Business College, she held the position of Board Secretary of Industrial Assistance Co., was a member of the Ohio Civil Air Patrol, and was a president of the Dearborn, Michigan, OptiMrs Club. She was a sales and service correspondent for Rexnord Corp., retiring after 28 years of service. Cathie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a talented (award-winning) watercolor artist. She also enjoyed golf, Tai Chi, and numerous other activities. Cathie is survived by and will be greatly missed by two daughters, Mary Catherine Mix of Knoxville, and Joanne Sue "Jody" Dodge of Garden City; son-in-law, Steven Dodge; grandchildren, Katrina Journeaux and husband David of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Dustin, Jack, and Devan Dodge of Garden City; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Michel Philip, Marya Angelique Catherine, and Alexander Drew Journeaux; brother, Aloysius Mishaga; sisters, Irene Saksa and Margaret Mishaga; sisters-in-law, Christine, Ann, and Mary Mishaga; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family, Nancy Mix, Michelle & David Hamann, Martha & Robert Bakun, Deborah & Ron Levitan, Patricia Kanick, Linda Mix, and their children; and many caring friends. Alice Marie Phillips Call, age 83, of Farragut, TN formerly of Chattanooga, TN passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006. Alice was born in Walhalla, SC and graduated from Hixson High School, Hixson, TN. She retired from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company, Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church for the past 6 years, and was formerly a member of Hixson First Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ralph T. Call, and by her son, Ralph T. Call, Jr.; sisters: Mary Jane Phillips Ball and Mildred Amanda Phillips Ellsberry; and brother: William Henry Phillips. Loyd Stanley Sheffield, age 80, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Monday, March 6, 2006, at his home. He was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God and served on the Church Council and was treasurer for 30 years. Loyd retired from Martin Marietta, Y-12 Plant in September of 1985. Following his retirement he did contract work for several years for D. O. E. He was a member of Lenoir City Lion’s Club where he served at one time as president and treasurer. Preceded in death by parents, Timothy H. Sheffield and Charity Campbell Sheffield; brothers, Leon, Leonard and Lester Sheffield; sisters, Nina Ramsey, Violet Bruander and Debbie Sheffield. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Willie Sue Preston Sheffield; daughter, Leslie Sheffield of Knoxville; sister, Della Lawrence of Houston, TX; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sixth Avenue Church of God. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Fred Cook and Rev. Zachary Lee Robinson, age 18 of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 4, 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City. A 2005 graduate of Lenoir City High School where he was a member of the band and the Interact Club. Zach loved to race go-carts and snowboard. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Lum Robinson; uncle, Jack Robinson; great grandmother, Agnes Ross; great grandfathers, John Charles Ross and Jack Harris. Survived by parents, Wade and Melanie Robinson; sister, Caroline Robinson; brother, Billy Robinson; grandparents, Bill and Carole Harris, Fotchie Robinson; aunts and uncles, Phoebe Robinson Masters, Kristi and Gene Quillen, John Robinson, Mark and Kelly Robinson, Michelle and David Fritz and Tyler Harris; first cousins, Jesse and Tucker Fritz, Dakota Steele, Marie and Mary Robinson, Caleb Whitworth, Luke Hudson, Rebecca Hamilton and Carissa Robinson; great grandmother, Beulah Harris; several great aunts, great uncles, family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and after the service Monday at Highland Park Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Bill Wilkinson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Click Funeral Home by 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 10 a.m. graveside services. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of Zachary Lee Robinson.
