Marian Ruth Wotila, 89, of Tellico Village and Stuart, Florida, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Marian was born in Marquette, Michigan on November 18, 1916. She married Felix Wotila in 1936, sharing 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1999. Marian and Felix raised their four children in Pontiac, Michigan. She was the manager of the Bloomfield Hills Employees Credit Union before retiring to Florida in 1981. Marian was a dedicated and loving mother and wife who enjoyed playing bridge, china painting, chocolate, knitting, travel, and eating out with close friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Felix Wotila, brother, George Winfree, and granddaughter, Catherine Croom. Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Robert) Brackenridge of Loudon, Tennessee, Barbara (Stephen Little) Wotila of Charlevoix, Michigan, and Patricia (James) Croom of East Lansing, Michigan; a son, Roger (Cynthia) Wotila of Cadillac, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Julie Sheridan (Steve) of Dallas, Dean Brackenridge (Julie) of Indianapolis, Eric and Kelsey Wotila of Cadillac and Charles, Caroline and Joseph Croom of East Lansing; two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Molly Sheridan of Dallas. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan. Henry Frederick Kassinger, age 78, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Setauket, NY and Plainview, Long Island, NY, passed away Thursday evening, March 9, 2006. Henry was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He was a 30 year life member of the Plainview Volunteer Fire Department. Henry was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Army. Alice Naomi Powell Langley, age 87, of Lenoir City, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Highland Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville. Alice was retired from Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center where she worked in the cafeteria department. Preceded in death by her husband, William R. Langley; son, Dennis Eugene Langley; grandson, Tim Langley; brothers, John and D. D. Powell. Survived by children, Ray E. Langley and wife, Judy of Lenoir City, Ronald Earl Langley of Lenoir City, Linda Grant of Knoxville and David Langley of Lenoir City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mary Young Maples - left her earthly home on Thursday, March 9, 2006. The wife of Edward Lyle Maples now deceased. They had 3 wonderful children: Mary Ann Stewart and husband, Benton, James Edward Maples and wife, Becky, Bob Young Maples and wife, Becky; 5 grandchildren: Edward Clay Stewart and wife Lisa, Mary Lee Stewart, Jess Edward Maples, Joseph Reid Maples, Rebecca Maples; 1 great - granddaughter, Laura Ann Stewart ; brother, Eddie Young; several nieces and nephews. She was born in the Lawnville Community of Roane County and moved with her family to Lenoir City in 1940. Being a mother was her first priority but she had a career with the U. S. Government in Oak Ridge working for 32 years. She was active in Lenoir City School activities being a home room mother for 16 years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Mary was a 50 year member of the Lenoir City Women’s Club and was one of the “Oak Ridge Girls”. John Frederick Schmidt Jr., age 58, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Woodruff, SC, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 9, 2006. John attended Church Street United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. John was a member of the Sierra Club and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a life time member of the Jaycees. He was a loving father and a good friend to many. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Schmidt. James W. Walker, age 75, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN formerly of Harrison Township, MI, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006. He was retired from General Motors where he served for over 44 years. He retired as Chief Engineer of Base Engine Technology and Powertrain Group. Kenneth Morris Cardwell, 64, Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 8th, 2006 at Baptist Lutheran Medical Center KC from heart failure. Mr. Cardwell was born April 30th, 1941 in Lenoir City, Tenn. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and attended the University of Tennessee. Mr. Cardwell and his wife Norma moved to Kansas City in 1962 and remained there until his death. Mr. Cardwell began working for Larkin & Assoc. in 1962 and was employed with them until 1982. He then became owner, president of American Reprographics Inc. until the company was sold in 2000. At his death, he was employed with Western Blue Print. Mr. Cardwell was a past president of ASCET and was also a past president of American Public Works Association and received the Harry S. Swearingen Award. He was a member of the Valley View Methodist Church. She was an avid Golfer and Bowler. Sylvia was Captain of the Lenoir City High School Basketball team her senior year. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Henry Tuck; parents, John A. and Virda Purkey Morgan; several brothers and sisters. Billy Eugene Wolfenbarger, age 67, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006 at his home. He was retired from Yale Security Co. Billy served in the U. S. Army. Wilbur L. Kephart, age 78, of Farragut, TN, passed away Saturday morning, March 11, 2006. Wilbur was born and grew up in Lock Haven, PA. He was a graduate of Penn State University and received his masters degree from the University of Tennessee. Wilbur was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army. He started his career as a chemical engineer in Oak Ridge K-25 plant. Wilbur was employed with C E Raymond and Chemical Waste Management in Chicago for many years. He was an avid tennis player and gardener. Wilbur was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and loved his friends. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur L. Kephart Sr. and Alice Fox Kephart. Richard Michael (Mick) Julian, age 59, of Loudon, passed away Sunday March 26, 2006 at his home. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Air Force. Mick was a retired nurse practitioner and pharmaceutical representative. He was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Barbara Wright Julian; daughter, Tonya Michelle Julian Wolfe; grandparents, Harland and Mae Wright. Survived by his wife of 20 years, Phyllis Adkins Julian; son, Richard E. Bernice Joy Queener Loveday, age 89, of Johnson City, formerly of Lenoir City, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 26, 2006. born in Knox County, on May 9, 1916, she had fond memories of her childhood in the Concord and Greenback areas. In addition to her parents, Mary Susan Donovan and Charles H. Queener, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Wilkerson and Nina McKelvey; and three brothers, Earl, Charles and Dick Queener. She loved babies and had four by her husband of 55 years, Dallard H. Loveday, who passed away in August of 1994. Although she had a profound hearing loss from birth, she had many understanding and loving friends at Colonial Hills Retirement Center, Broadmore and John Reed Assisted Living and Lakebridge Health Care in Johnson City. She is survived by one brother, Cedric Queener, Greenback, TN, and her four children, Vaughn Loveday and his wife Betty, Thomas Loveday and his wife Jean, Dallas Adams and her husband Griff, Regina Street and her husband Roy; eight grandchildren she adored; seven great grandchildren; among her several nieces and nephews she leaves Betty Kate McCown of Lenoir City. Lindsey, William Reed, Sr. “Bill” - of Lenoir City, born December 25, 1928, in Loudon, TN went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City and retired from Lenoir City Utilities Board. Bill loved his family and friends. He had a special bond with his co-workers of many years at LCUB. He cherished his beautiful granddaughters, Kendall and Kristen and especially loved their annual family vacation to Hilton Head Island every summer. He also loved gardening. Farr, Margaret Ann (Maggie), age 53, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Silsbee, TX, passed away Wednesday March 29, 2006 at her home. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Benjamin Walton Sr. and Lola Hutto Walton; brother, Louis Benjamin Walton Jr. Survivors: husband, Thomas Farr and his son, Brandon Farr; children, Robert Tolor of Knoxville, Dewayne Tolor and wife Cindy of Bridge City, TX; grandson Cade Tolor; sisters, Jerri Maza, Jo Walton; brothers, Dolby Walton and David Walton all of Lumberton, TX; brother-in-law, Wayne Farr of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Interment will be in the Walton Cemetery in Lumberton, Texas.
