Cherry, Phyllis Hashbarger (Phyl), age 74, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Phyl was born in Bristol and was a graduate of Bristol Tennessee High School and The Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Class of 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City and served on several mission trips along with her husband, Bill, including serving as Baptist Mission Service Corps volunteers in Indiana for a year and a half. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Oma Hashbarger of Bristol, Tennessee. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William E. Cherry (Bill); sons, William Edward Cherry III and wife, Peggy, their sons, Joe, Chris and Willie Cherry of Parshall, CO; daughter, Luann Cherry Donnell of Metairie, LA, her son, Sean O'Brien of Parker, CO; sister, Betty Morris and husband, Bill of Chesapeake, VA, their son, Bill Morris and his family of Killdevil Hills, NC, their daughter, Beth Batten and her husband of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Lloyd Hashbarger and wife, Ann of Bristol, VA, their son, Jeff Hashbarger and his family, their daughter, Lisa Buchanon and her family. Floyd, Wilma Dych - age 69, of Knoxville, died Friday morning at Baptist West Hospital. Wilma was a devoted member of the First Farragut United Methodist Church. Where she enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday school, and serving on many church missions. Wilma volunteered at Children's Hospital for ten years. She taught school in the Knoxville School System for many years. She always put others first and was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Josephine Dych; daughter, Susan Lynn Floyd; and grandson, William Quinn Bohdan. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carl R. Floyd; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Eric Bohdan; grandchildren, Ryan Alexander, Owen Matthew, Samuel Carl, and Colin Nicholas Bohdan all of Fayetteville, Georgia; sisters, Lois White of Northfield, Minnesota, and Vivian Maples of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Jones, Scott W., age 54, of Knoxville, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away suddenly Friday morning, May 21, 2004 at his home after a long illness. Scott was a Vietnam veteran serving with the U. S. Spears, Jonathon Scott (Scott) - age 33 of Lenoir City, went to join his Heavenly Father May 21, 2004. Scott was a devoted husband, father and son. His children brought him great joy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was a talented musician. Scott was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and IBEW Local #760. He was an employee of Gresham Electric. Hardin, Jordan Ryan - age 18 of Beals Chapel Road, Lenoir City, went to be with his father, Benjamin Hardin and grandmother, Lucy Billingsley, on May 24, 2004 at approximately 7:30 p.m. as a result of a motorcycle accident on Lakeland Drive in Lenoir City. He would have been a Senior at Loudon High School where he was an athlete and participated in football and basketball. He received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was an active member of the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. He recently had a tattoo of a tombstone with his fathers name and date of birth on his arm. Jordan was a very caring person and would do anything for anybody. He loved kids, enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was loved by many. Griffith, Twila E. - age 71, died on May 26, 2004 at Baptist Hospital West after a six-month battle with cancer. Twila was a resident of Tellico Village since 1993 where she was involved in many Village groups and activities. She was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church. She was born in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Clarence and Florence Yuncker. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her four children, Jeff, Tracy, Eric and Dana; her stepdaughter, Holly; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Carl Puckett of Belen, NM. A sister and a brother preceded her in death. Twila retired in 1993 after 31 years of practice as a speech-language pathologist. She gained national recognition for her pioneering work in developing speech and hearing services in rural and urban community hospitals. Her research and publications became benchmarks for the future development of hospital services nationwide. She earned her doctorate in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Illinois in 1975. Twila will be remembered by her former staff members, her colleagues and the many students whom she guided through a hospital clinical practicum. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 4, 2004, at Tellico Village Community Church with Rev. Martin Singley officiating. Ambrosina, Pete age 34 of Knoxville, formerly of St. Maarten, passed away tragically Thursday May 27, 2004 in an automobile accident. Pete was a comptroller with the State of Tennessee and also coached Thunder Baseball for 13 year olds. He was a former professional base ball player with the St. Louis Cardinals. Sarten, Florence “Tommie” Catherine Endres - born on Jan 4th, 1933, married to George Sarten Sr. on September 10th, 1952 departed from us on March 2, 2007 to be with God, her friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton B. Endres and Marie G. Haar Endres and two sisters Ruth Endres and Margaret “Margie” Endres Huelsman. Tommie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, George Henry Sarten Sr. and two children, George H. Sarten Jr. and wonderful wife, Renee and Katherine D. Sarten Disney Reed and wonderful husband, Greg. She also leaves five adoring grandchildren, Kelli Elizabeth Sarten Watkins, Chase Andrew Sarten Disney, Ashley Nicole Sarten, Julia Kathleen Sarten and Katherine Marie Sarten Reed. She also leaves a “like grand daughter” Emily Marie Shaver and she leaves one adorable great grand child Bryson Cole Watkins. She will also be missed by her brothers (in-laws) and sisters (in-laws); Virgil and Ginny Endres, Valeria “Leri” Endres Kuhl, Norman and Rosie Endres, Delores “Cuddles” Endres Fonke, Hugo Huelsman, Tony and Mary Endres and Jerry and Ruthie Endres . Stegman, Beulah Mae, age 91, passed away Thursday morning at the Baptist Healthcare Facility in Lenoir City. Beulah was of the Catholic Faith. Dilsaver, Ben W.- 86, of Lenoir City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2007 following an extended illness. born at home November 25, 1920 in Marion County, Ohio, Mr. Dilsaver lived most of his life in Galion, Ohio. In Galion, he was active in the Lions Club and at St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, a chorister, and a Sunday School superintendent. During his working life he farmed, did retail sales for Omar Bakery, worked for local car dealerships as service manager and in sales, and worked for the Colonel Crawford school system. He loved family gatherings of any size, playing softball, playing cards with friends, and, in later years, golf - once getting a hole-in-one. Ben and his wife, Luella, moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1994, then to Tennessee in 2001 to be closer to their children. In Tennessee, they became members at Fellowship Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Mr. Dilsaver is survived by his wife of 61 years, Luella Mae (Guinther) Dilsaver, his daughters, Darlene Cook of Nashville, TN and Marilyn Hobbs of Lenoir City, TN and three grandchildren: Adam J. Cook of San Antonio, TX, Alison Cook Dudek of Chattanooga, TN, and Stephanie Hobbs of Lenoir City, TN. He was a faithful member of Sixth Avenue Church of God for 69 years where he held several church offices. Bill was retired from the City of Lenoir City Street Department and First National Bank. He was preceded in death by parents, Martin J. and Nancy Fritts; wife of 61 years, Pearlie Mae Fritts; second wife, Ethel Silvey Fritts; 5 brothers and infant daughter. Tindell, Clarence (Buck), age 72, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at U. T. Hospital. He was a faithful member of Old Time Gospel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 2 sisters; 1 half sister and 2 half brothers. Buck is survived by his wife of 31 years, Anna Lou Farmer Tindell; sister, Jenny Tindell; brothers, William Tindell of Deer Lodge and Glen Tindell of Knoxville; half brother, George (Toby) Tindell; half sister, Lorena Douglas of Seymour; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6th at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Junior Ward and Rev. Wilburn Clemmer officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 10 a.m. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
