Ronald L. (Ron) Zubko, age 68, of Farragut, formerly of Cleveland, OH, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning, March 3, 2007 at his home. Ron was of the Catholic faith. He retired from Strick Corporation after 25 years of service but continued to work as a consultant after his retirement. Ron played basketball for Coach Ray Mears at West Tech High School, Cleveland, OH, when the team won the district championship in 1956. He graduated from Tri State College with a degree in aeronautical engineering. His passion was restoring a P-51 D Mustang. Ron was a volunteer at the Warbirds TN Museum of Aviation in Sevierville. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Margaret Hornyak Zubko. Survivors: wife Maria Sexton Zubko; children and spouses Tony Zubko of Port St. Luci, FL; Dean & Jennifer Zubko of Southington, CT; Dave and Lisa Wichser of Palm City, FL; Shane Sexton & fiancée Kimberly Cowan of Knoxville; and Wade and Allison Sexton of Knoxville; grandchildren Anthony Zubko, Taylar Zubko, Zachary Zubko, Demi Zubko, Rhett Sexton, Allie Sexton, Bo Sexton; sister and brother-in-law Kathleen & Frank Svetz of Cleveland, OH; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends including his small group at the Farragut Church of Christ. Hartline, Oscar Randall (Slack), age 44, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007. He was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. Slack was a trucker and excavator. He loved to motorcycle. Preceded in death by father, Ted Hartline. Jannie Goley Brown, age 53, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and a former employee of K-25 in Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by parents, William and Frances Goley and infant sister, Thelma Goley. Survived by husband, Cecil Brown, Jr.; children, William N. Goley and Jason L. Goley both of Lenoir City; grandson, Isaiah Russell; brothers, William A. Goley, Bennie H. Goley, Sr. and wife, Ella Jean; a host of nieces and nephews. Philip A. Cooke, age 92, of the Neighborhood in Tellico Village formerly of Kings Park, New York passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Loudon Healthcare Center in Tennessee. Philip was married 68 years to the late Linda Cooke. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Philip was an avid Yankee fan. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. Survived by his two daughters, Lynn Toettcher and husband, Fred of Tellico Village, Betty Healy of Umatilla, FL; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Sarah Avery Infante, age 17 of Knoxville lost her life on Tuesday afternoon, March 6, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident. Sarah was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She had attended Farragut High School and was currently a student at Union County High School in Blairsville, Ga. She was very involved in the Student Government Association and earned the 2006 State of Tennessee Above and Beyond Award. Sarah was also involved in Girl Scouts and earned a Silver Award. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ignacio and Eulalia Infante; maternal grandmother, Frances Harris. Sarah is survived by her parents, Michael and Barbara Infante; brother, Mikey Infante; maternal grandfather, Darwin B. Harris of Oran, Mo.; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Arnold Dillard Judd, age 90, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Loudon Health Care Center. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City for over fifty years. Arnold was an employee of Tennessee Valley Authority for forty one years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; three sisters and granddaughter, Kathy Gardner. Survived by his beloved wife of 71 years; Mary Katherine Judd; daughters, Barbara Reynolds and husband, Jimmy of Lenoir City, Patti Wilson of Chattanooga and Betty Holt of Mt. John D. Galyon Jr., age 83, of Greenback, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007 at his home. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific as a aviation machinist. Peggy Shaver Johnson, age 61, of Knoxville, formerly of Roane and Hamblen Counties, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, March 10, 2007 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Peggy was of the Baptist Faith. She was retired from UT-Battelle (Oak Ridge National Laboratory) after 30 years of service. She was an avid gardener, loved photography, knitting and travel. Joe W. Vasey, age 76, of Lenoir City, formerly of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Friday morning, March 9, 2007 at his home. Joe founded Vasey Heating and Air Conditioning Company. His post-retirement years were spent working in the building and real estate development industry, playing golf and learning everything there is to know about computers. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving his country in the U. S. Army as a translator/interpreter. He was a truly devoted family man, an animal lover and a real Jack-of-all trades. The world is a better place because of people like Joe. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Rick Lange. Joe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice K. Fernandez, Ralph Raul, age 77, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Parkwest Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ralph was a graduate of the University of Houston. He was an electrical engineer at Kennedy Space Center where he worked on the Mercury - Atlas, Apollo, and Sky Lab missions. He later retired from T. V. A. Ralph was a volunteer tutor at Lenoir City Elementary School for 5th grade students and volunteered at the Baptist Health Care Center. He was an avid golfer. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Maria Fernandez; brothers, Rudy and Ernest Fernandez and sister, Jovita Balderas. Survived by his wife of 18 years, Ruth Ann Fernandez; son, Thomas John Fernandez of Knoxville; daughter, Anna-Marie Snyder and husband, Paul Snyder III of Mt. Joy, PA; grandchildren, Katelyn Marie Snyder and Paul Snyder IV; sisters, Dora Fernandez and Minerva Nerios both of League City, TX; loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Jere Jackson (Jerry) Headrick, age 43, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Saturday March 10, 2007 in Denver, CO. Jere graduated from Karns High School in 1981. He attended Beauty school in Memphis and worked as a hair stylist there and in Denver where he currently worked at Joe's Hair Affair. Jere was also a talented artist and worked as a computer graphic artist in Denver where his work has been printed in various publications. Jere was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jackson Headrick, Sr; sister, Cindy Headrick. Terry Bell, age 54, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Everett, WA, passed away early Friday morning, March 16, 2007 at U T Medical Center in Knoxville. Terry was COO of MasterCraft Boat Company in Vonore, TN. He spent his entire career in the boating industry first with Bayliner Boats and later joining the MasterCraft team in 1997. Terry was an avid golfer and had a great appreciation for music. He loved travel, fine dining, enjoyed various sports and boating activities, but most of all enjoyed being with his wife and kids. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He loved, and was well loved by his family and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Janet Bell; brother, John Bell. Patsy (Pat) Gassaway Hair, age 76, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007 at her home after a courageous battle for the past 33 years with cancer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Pat was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was church clerk for 16 years and a member of the W. M. U. She will be long remembered for her faith in God and love for her family. In the 1960's she was an officer of the Lenoir City Home Demonstration Club and was nominated in 1967 for Loudon Countys First Lady. Preceded in death by husband, Clarence W. (Bill) Hair; parents, John W. and Beatrice Viles Gassaway; brother, Eugene (Buddy) Gassaway; and niece, Janice Gassaway Guynup. Virginia (Miss Ginnie) Lowe, age 91, of Concord passed away Friday evening, March 16, 2007 at Park West Medical Center. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church Concord for 55 years and taught Sunday school children for over 30 years. When she gave up her car, she began a telephone ministry with the church. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Maude Sarver; husband, Joe Lowe; sister, Wilma Gibson; brother, Fred Sarver Jr.; nephews, Don Sarver and Gene Gibson. Clara Irene Jenkins Logan, was born December 28, 1907 in Loudon County, Tennessee to the late Harrison and Martha Marshall Jenkins. She departed this life early Sunday morning, March 18, at Summit View Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wiley and Andrew Jenkins; sisters, Isabelle J. Ward, Martha Marie J. Hackler, and Lucy Louise J. Billingsley. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, William (Billy) Logan of Georgia, special nieces, Vivian Hardin, Clara (Mickey) Amos and Shirley Fletcher; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
