Harris, Mildred I. age 84, of Philadelphia passed away Friday, November 7, 2003 at the Park West Hospital. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. Mildred was retired Director of Social Services at Baptist Health Care in Lenoir City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Harris; infant son, John Randolph Harris; parents, M. J. and Nettie Porter. Survived by her children, Richard Harris and wife, June of Lenoir City, Janice Gage and husband, Bill of Philadelphia, Jim Harris and wife, Bernie of Panama City, FL, Shari Gann and husband, Mickey of Marietta, GA, Sandi Warner of Philadelphia and Steve Harris and wife, Carolyn of Sacramento, CA; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Nacchio, Anthony C., age 80 of Plantation Springs, Knoxville, TN, died at home Friday evening, November 7, 2003. Anthony was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was born and educated in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Edmund and Marie Nacchio. He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. Anthony then worked for Merck International. After his retirement he enjoyed sports, people, parties, and travel. He was a volunteer at Parkwest Hospital for 8 years, and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5207. Anthony was preceded in death by Rita, his wife for 36 years. They were the parents of two surviving daughters Rita, (Rigi) Wells, wife of Larry Wells, and Antonia, (Toni) Atkins both residing in NJ. Also surviving with their parents are the grandchildren Casey and Jake Atkins, Nicholas, and Samantha Wells; wife, Veronica Govelitz Nacchio, with whom he lived in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Knoxville, TN 14 years ago; niece, Margaret Govelitz and her dauter, Anna Marie; cousin, Kate Hume all of Knoxville. Graveside services and interment 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20 in the Tennessee State Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the East Tennessee State Veteran's Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, it would be Anthony's wish that the Liturgy be celebrated in his memory or memorials may be made to Columbus Home of Catholic Charities 119 Dameron Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917. Lane, Geraldine, age 77, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2003 at her home. She was a member of Hensley Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Geraldine was retired from Baptist Health Care Center after 28 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Lane; father and mother, Cecil and Martha Isbell; and brother, A. J. Isbell. Survived by her children, Gail Curry and husband, Danny, Sharon White and husband, Clay, Randy Lane and wife, Karen all of Lenoir City, Jr. Lane and wife, Debi of Loudon; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Sunday at the Hawkins Chapel with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Elder Ricky Wiggins and Elder Clinton Pickard officiating. Pardue, Laura Helen Crass- age 70,formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in Blaine, Washington. Helen was born September 13, 1933 in Roane Co. She was a member of New Midway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde Pardue; parents, Oma and Carroll M. (Bud) Crass; infant brother, Benny Crass and brother, Robert L. Crass Survived by her sons, Gerald Pardue and wife, Cindy of Jamestown, N.Y., Alan Pardue of Florida and Aaron Pardue and wife, Katherine of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah, Jessie, Faith, Abigail, Jackson and Max; sister, Sue Huffman of Lenoir City; brothers, Ralph Crass and wife, Betty, Roy Crass and wife, Kathy all of Lenoir City, Carroll Thurman Crass and wife, Dot of Ringgold, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Shubert, Terry A. - of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, November 14, 2003 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by mother, Sally M. Kothy; father, Thomas Sutton; and stepfather, Herman J. Kothy. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roy L. Shubert; daughters, Patsy Buckner and husband, Terry of Mt. Juliet and Kathy Shubert of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Joshua and Megan Buckner. Shereef, Baseemah, age 90, of Alcoa, passed away Friday morning, November 14, 2003 at the Baptist Hospital. She converted to the Islam Community in Alcoa in 1956. She is survived by her husband, James Amin Shereef of Alcoa; daughters, Azizah and husband Ali Muhammad of Chicago, Ill., Museerah and husband Isa Wali and Ayesha Shereef both of Alcoa; brother, Judge Spears of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-laws, Ann Spears of Alcoa and Samerah Gaylor of Detroit Michigan; 43 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cruze, Richard L. (Dick), age 69, of Farragut passed away Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Farragut Healthcare Center. Dick was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Dick was a heavy equipment operator for many years and was a member of Local #917 International Operators Union. Dick was an avid fisherman and loved gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, T. L. and Beulah Sloan Cruze; sister, Marjorie Cruze Lane. Survivors: wife of 49 years, Carolyn Cate Cruze; sisters, Amanda Johnson of Knoxville, Barbara Archer and husband Edward of Maynardville; several nieces and nephews. Hall, Charles Joseph (Joe), age 49, of Farragut, more recently of East Ridge, passed away suddenly Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2003 at Parkridge Medical Center in East Ridge. Joe was an employee with TVA in Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Farragut High School and Tennessee Wesleyan College. He was of the Methodist faith. Joe was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Scanlan, Louise H., age 59, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon formerly of Houston, TX and Hendersonville, TN, passed away Monday morning, November 17, 2003 at her home. She was of the Catholic Faith. Louise was an avid golfer and was Past President of the Ladies Golf Association in Tellico Village. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Graham and mother, Alice. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Paul Scanlan; daughter, Andrea Lees and special granddaughter, Mary Lees both of Desert Hot Springs, CA; son, Eric Scanlan of Houston, TX; brothers, Billy Graham of Atlanta, GA, John Graham of British Colimbia, and Bobby Graham of Toronto, Canada; sisters, Anne Legge of Saint Catherines, Canada and Francis Graham of Calgary, Canada. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday November 20, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Deacon Jose Rivera officiating. Brannon, Kathy Lynn - , age 47, of Lenoir City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, November 17, 2003 after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was a devoted and well loved member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church. Kathy was preceded in death by her dad and mom, Frank and Gussie Wilson Breeden. Survived by her husband of twenty eight years, Dorian Brannon; son, Jeremy Brannon and wife, Joyce; daughter, Sara Campbell and husband, Clinton; grandsons, Eric and Taylor Barnett, Travis and Bryan Brannon, Joshua Campbell; brothers and sisters, Frankye, Jewel, Vicky and husband, Clifford, Gail and husband, Bob, Keith and wife, Kim, Kenneth and wife, Pam, Rita and husband, Larry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grant (G.M.) and Bertha Brannon; sister-in-law, Connie and husband, Jim; several nieces and nephews; sisters in heart: Deb, Tina and Karen. Kagley, Russell (Rusty) -age 31 of Knoxville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 16 in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and had served eight years in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge from the military, Rusty worked as an aircraft mechanic. Preceded in death by his fathers, Tom Kagley and David Hayes; grandparents, Elmer Harvey, James and Iva Kagley. Rusty is survived by his daughter, Amber Denise Kagley and her mother, Lisa of Oklahoma; mother, Judy Kagley of Friendsville; sisters: Melissa Stafford of Lenoir City, Angela Wood and Jamie Hayes both of Texas, Teresa Vineyard of Lenoir City; brothers, David Hayes Jr. of Texas and Tony Kagley of Lenoir City; grandparents, Ruth and Vic Mahler of Seymour and Lizzie Hayes of Knoxville;special friend, Tom Mertens of Friendsville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bragg, Margaret Ann, age 72, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, died Tuesday morning, November 18, 2003 at the home of her daughter. Margaret was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ft. Walton Beach. She graduated with honors from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. She was a LTJG in the U S Navy serving from 1953 to 1955. Margaret was active in the Republican party and was a very strong supporter of theater and arts, animal welfare, as well as, a board member of the USO, Head Start, and the Parish Council. Survivors: husband of 49 years, Leroy E. Bragg Jr. (Lt. Col. USAF, Ret.); daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Yann of Farragut; grandchildren, Maureen, Katelyn, Jimmy and Patty Yann all of Farragut; brothers, William Ford Jr. and James Ford both of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Tom and Betsy McQuoid of Ormond Beach, FL, Roy and Nell Sheehan of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, B J Vinsant, her devoted daily care giver for over two years, and many other Knoxville friends. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with Father John Dowling officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery.
