Huking, Harry W. Jr., age 77, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, passed away Friday evening, November 5, 2004, at his home following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Harry was born September 25, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Palo Alto High School and San Jose State College in California. A veteran of the United States Army serving from 1946-48 in Japan, 1949-50 in Georgia and 1951-53 during the Korean Conflict. He served in marketing with Dow Chemical from 1953-1984 working in Michigan, New Jersey, Spain and Switzerland. Harry retired and moved to Tellico Village in 1992 and became a member of the Tellico Village Community Church and President of the Genealogy Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Harry W. Huking Sr.; brother, Leonard Huking. Survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Joan Huking; sons, Ronald Huking of Tucson, AR, Keith (Patty) Huking of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter, Claire Huking of Missoula, MT; stepchildren: Sherry (Mike) James of Westampton, NJ, Nancy (George) Duffield of Stafford, VA, Joseph (Deborah) Mazzone of Cinnaminson, NJ, JoAnn Mazzone and Robert McFarlane of Burlington, NJ; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Garrahan of Green Valley, AZ and Justine Maehler of Lincoln Hills, CA; several nieces and nephews. Williams, Charles Lloyd, age 77, of Loudon, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 5:20 p.m. at U. T. Hospital. He was born on June 15, 1927. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Germany. Charles had retired from T.V.A’s Bull Run Steam Plant and was a life long farmer. He loved watching things grow, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for his family at any time. Preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Mattie Williams; brothers, Ernie and Bob Williams; sisters, Betty and Katie. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis A. Williams; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte A. Hatcher and husband, David, Deborah K. Sarten, Richard A., age 43, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday morning, November 8, 2004 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. He was preceded in death by father, Fred Sarten and brother, David Sarten. Blanton, Robert Neal, age 68, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, November 8, 2004 at his home. He was a veteran serving in the U. S. Air Force. Robert was owner of Ideal Septic Service and a member of Carpenter’s Local Union. Preceded in death by parents, George Dewey Blanton and Edna Ruth Sturgill Blanton; grandson, A. J. Blanton. Kalthoff, Charles W., age 86, of Farragut passed away early Wednesday morning, November 10, 2004 at his home. Charles was a member of West Hills Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army and a 32 degree Mason. Charles was the owner and founder of Kalthoff, Inc. Mechanical Contracting Company and the recipient of several patents. He sold the business after 40 years of operation. He enjoyed boating and traveling. Charles was a member and past president of the City Wide Sertoma Club, a member of the board of directors for James White Fort, and currently president of the Fox Den Homeowner=s Association. He volunteered at Baptist Sr. Health Center, and delivered food for the FISH organization. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Blanche Kalthoff. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wanda Kalthoff, sons and daughters in law, Tim and LaRue Kalthoff of Knoxville, Jeff and Christy Kalthoff of New Market; grandchildren Matthew, Jeffrey, and Judson Kalthoff all of Knoxville, Shannon Carver and husband Clay of Oak Ridge; great granddaughter, Camilla; sister-in-law, Katherine Bell of Farragut, and several nieces and nephews. McCown, John W., age 72, of Stow, Ohio passed away November 8, 2004. John was born in Lenoir City, TN and was a resident of the Stow, Ohio area for most of his life. He had been employed by the Canal Fulton Police Dept. for 15 years and was also a former truck driver. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and loved western movies, traveling, old cars and enjoyed life. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Hutsell McCown. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Betty; son, Keith McCown and wife Gail of Akron, Oh.; grandchildren, Eric, Kurt and Alicia; sisters, Joyce Odom and husband Randall and Bobbie Jo McCown all of San Antonio, Texas, Florence Rabar of Gulf Port, Miss. Murphy, Catherine Martin, age 81, of Farragut, formerly of Surfside Beach, SC, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2004 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Catherine was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Garden City Beach, SC. She grew up in Manhattan in New York City and had a long career at the Cornell Medical College in Manhattan. On retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy moved to South Carolina, last living in Surfside Beach. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Murphy; son, Michael Murphy; parents, Edward and Anna Martin; sister, Margaret Fitzgerald. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Murphy O'Brien and Patrick O'Brien of Farragut; grandchildren, Theresa Murphy of New Jersey, Kathleen, Michael, Meghan and Colleen O'Brien all of Farragut; daughter-in-law, Denise Murphy of New Jersey; nephews, Dennis and Kevin Fitzgerald, niece, Patricia Ellis. Schrimsher, Robert (Bob), Sr., age 69, of Knoxville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday November 13, 2004 at the St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. Bob was of the Baptist faith and was retired from the floral business. He served in the Tennessee National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Burrow and Robert R. Schrimsher. He is survived by a son, Robert Schrimsher, Jr. and wife Ruth of Ft. Myers, Fla.; special friend, Peggy Carmichael of Knoxville; brother, Ralph Schrimsher and wife Janie of Lenoir City; niece, Terri Freels and husband David of Lenoir City. Larmee, Margery J. of Farragut, passed away suddenly Friday evening November 12, 2004, at Park West Hospital. Margery was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and the Lord's Chapel. She taught piano in the Knoxville and Farragut areas for many years. Margery also played the piano at the Lord's Chapel for 33 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Walter T. Larmee; parents, Park M. and Beatrice Jones; brother, Stuart Jones. Survivors: son, Brad Larmee; daughter, Lisa Larmee both of Farragut; brother-in-law, John E. Thompson, Mildred Theo Miller, age 86, formerly of Church Drive, Lenoir City, left this life on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital and resides with her Heavenly Father. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and one of the oldest and devoted members at Silver Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Madison and LuCinda Galyon Miller; husband Ira (Fate) Thompson; great-granddaugter, Chelsea Renea Reeves; brothers, Martin, Robert and Billy Joe Miller and sister Audrey Underdown. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Agnes and Terry Reeves of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Teresa Thompson of New Market; grandchildren, Tonya Andrews, Michael Thompson, Adam Reeves, Adrienne Reeves, Ashley Ballinger and Jacob Thompson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Andrews, Hayley Reeves, Dalton Andrews, Jackson Reeves, Trenton, Cydney and Cody; brother, Edmund (Mary Ruth) Miller of Holland, OH.; sisters, Dealia (James L.) She was retired from the Toledo Public Library and was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church. Church, Peggy Hagler - of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004. She was a graduate of the class of "53" from Jonesboro High and lived in Johnson City until the late 1960's where upon she moved to Knoxville. Her career was raising her two daughters and making a home where family and friends were always comfortable and welcome. Although incapacitated from a stroke for 18 years, she continued to be a source of comfort and inspiration to her children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Eva Hagler and sister, Jean Hagler Lewis. Peggy is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles Virgil Church; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Dan Hensley, Sheri and David Maxwell; grandchildren, Scarlett and Sean Hensley; step-grandchildren, Annie Hensley, Michael and Daniel Maxwell all of Knoxville; brother, James Hagler of West Palm Beach. Pauline Brummett Davis - of Farragut, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church Concord and an active member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Davis; parents, Samuel and Stella Brummett; sisters, Aggie Reynolds and Elsie Justice. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Davis, with whom she made her home; brothers: Bill Brummett and wife, Sue, Elmer Brummitt and Charles Brummett; sisters: Maggie Rutherford, Frances West and Mildred Tucker and husband, Sammie; many nieces and nephews. Ziegle, Caroline M., age 90, 12606 Hunters Creek Lane, Knoxville, Tennessee died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Baptist Health Care Center
after a long illness. She was an Aurora, IL native and had lived in Longwood, Fla from 1978 - 1998 before moving to Johnson City, Tennessee and then Knoxville, Tennessee. Mrs. Ziegle was the daughter of the late John B. O'Connor and Caroline Meyer O'Connor. She received her degree from St. Mary's at Notre Dame and taught in both the public and parochial schools for over 30 years. She was most recently a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Lenoir City. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Lassen of Marietta, Georgia and Laurie Hollis of Knoxville; sons-in-law Charles Lassen and Al Hollis; one grandson, Eric Lassen of Hummelstown, PA; one granddaughter, Christa Lassen-Vogel of Lafayette, CO; her husband Ken Vogel; and one great-grandson, Nolan Vogel. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2004 from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Father David Boettner will be the celebrant.
