Krausser, Arthur Curt, age 79, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004 at Baptist West Hospital. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Marine Corps. where he was in the Sixth Defense Battalion Defenders of Midway. Art was a member of American Legion Post #120 and VFW Post #5150 in Loudon, TN. He was a Master Mason serving 58 years with West Chester Masonic Lodge #995 in Illinois. Wotring, Maxon Lee Lt. Col. U.S.A.F. (Ret.), age 82, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Fresno,CA and Port Ludlow, WA, went to be with the Lord Monday afternoon, November 22, 2004. Max was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. He retired from the U S Air Force on June 30 1962 with 20 years of service as a bomber pilot in the Strategic Air Command (SAC). Max was an aircraft commander on a B-47 six jet bomber. After his military career, he was stock broker with E F Hutton in Fresno for 12 years. He was an avid reader, writer, golfer, tennis player, coin collector and hiker. Max was very active teaching Bible Study Fellowship and Sunday School classes at various churches he attended over the years. He also served as deacon and head usher at Evangelical Free Church and First Baptist Church both in Fresno. Max was loved for his humor, intelligence and outgoing nature, making friends where ever he lived. Pete was employed by NISYS Corporation in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and coordinator of the Helps Ministry. Pete led a mens bible study group, and was a member of the Seeker's Sunday School Class. He was a member of Toastmasters. An avid lover of nature, he was an assistant Boy Scout Master with Troop #444. He was a devoted husband and father. Smith, Virgil Winford of Farragut passed away on November 26, 2004. Virgil was born in Floydada, Texas on January 15, 1922. He attended Lovell Heights Church of God. Virgil was a veteran of World War II serving in the U S Army Cavalry at Ft. Riley Kansas. Virgil is remembered as a loving and caring husband and father, and well respected business man in the Knoxville area since 1957. He was founder and owner of Rio Grande, owner of Ace Fence Companies, Winfreds Apparel and Ace Petroleum Company. Virgil was an avid golfer and a member of Fox Den Country Club. Miller, Jessie Lowell “Pete”, age 61, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2004. He attended White Wing Nazarene Church. Pete was a retired truck driver for Harrison Concrete. He was a member of the Old Timers Club and loved antique cars and trucks. Preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Mantha Miller; sister, Marie Norris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Ida McDaniel. Survived by wife of 42 years, Wanda McDaniel Miller; children, Denise Garrett and husband, Greg of Knoxville, Sherry Justice and husband, Eddie, Dan Miller and wife, Vicki all of Lenoir City; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Atchley and husband, Jeremy of Sevierville, Nathan Miller of Lenoir City; brother, Bill Miller and wife, Sarah of Loudon; sisters, Ann Jenkins and husband, Raymond of Kingston, Carrie Barnard and husband, Glenn of Loudon, Virginia Lee Wallace of Lenoir City, Ruthie Lynn and husband, Charles of Loudon; several nieces and nephews including special nephews, Matt and Mark Wallace; a host of devoted friends.
