Monger, John Hershel, age 81, of Lenoir City, departed this life Friday evening, October 8, 2004 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on February 26, 1923 to the late George Elmer and Zona Monger. He was a member of the Lenoir City Church of Christ. John preached for several years in Western, Ky. and So. Illinois and served as an Elder in Paducah, Ky. He was retired from the U. S. Postal Service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mabel Scott Monger; son, John L. Monger of Fla.; daughter, Terrie Martin of N.C.; grandchildren, Graham Monger, Ginger Monger both of Fla., Kelly Martin of Tx., Ross Martin of N.C. and great- grandchild Jasmine Deihl of Fla.; brothers, James Arnold Monger of Hampton, TN and Roy Monger of Knoxville. Sabo, Julius, age 68, of the Rarity Bay Community in Vonore,TN, passed away Friday, October 8, 2004, at his home. born in Barnsboro, PA, he grew up in Cleveland, OH, where he graduated from Saint Ignatius High School and John Carroll University. He served in the United States Army rising to the rank of Captain. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company for over 32 years in various labor relations and human resource managerial positions before retiring from the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant. He served on the board of Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH, Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Louisville, KY, a Ohio Civil Rights Commission Represenative, an Administrative Asst. to Ohio Catholic Youth Organization, a published member & United States Representative to the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria and several special committees at Rarity Bay. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, TN and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus 12633. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Helen Sabo; wife, Mary Ellen; step mother, Ethel Sabo and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three step-children: Jeannine Duran and her husband Jason, Tony and Michael Jones; sister, Blanche Kubbins and her husband, Norman; uncle, Leo Kobojek and aunt, Dottie Kobojek; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Patrick and Nancy O’Connor, Ken and Joan Cigler; several nieces and nephews. Hawk, Betty Louise, age 69, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 10, 2004 while traveling in Canada with her loving husband. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Preceded in death by her parents, U. Samuel Johnson and Winnie Johnson. Survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dr. Richard P. Shaw, Lonnie, age 83, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Loudon Healthcare Center. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Lexington. Lonnie was a member of Second Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #70. He was retired from T.V.A. and was a member of Operators Engineers #917. Reid, Helen G., age 93, of Knoxville, passed away Friday morning, October 15, 2004 at Park West Hospital. Helen was born in Rochester, New York and spent most of her life in Detroit, MI. She and her husband moved to Knoxville in 1978, to be close to her family. Helen was a resident of Farragut Health Care Center and a former resident of Westview Towers. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilson Reid; parents, John and Maude Briscow Lumley; sisters, Evelyn Littler and Gladys Wold. Fisher, Marion Gordon, age 88, of the Axley’s Chapel Community, Greenback, passed away Sunday morning, October 17, 2004 at his home. He was a member of the Axley’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Clark Fisher; his parents, William S. and Jennie Griffitts Fisher; step-mother, Lou Monger Fisher; infant sister, Margaret Fisher; brother, Howard Fisher. Cozart, Hugh Thelmage, age 79, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning October 17, 2004 at Park West Hospital. Hugh served in the U. S. Navy. He was a retiree of Eaton Yale and Town (Yale Security). Preceded in death by first wife, Mary Francis Cozart; second wife, Inez Cozart; father, John L. Cozart; mother, Johnnie Cozart; stepdaughter, Terry Love and granddaughter, Melissa Toinette Hawkins. Kunkle, Robert P., age 30, of Loudon, TN, formerly of Alliance, OH passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 21, 2004. He was a 1991 graduate of Alliance High School. Preceded in death by grandfather, Dillon Kunkle. Survived by son, Aaron Kunkle of LaFollette; parents, Bruce and Patricia Kunkle of Loudon; brothers, Christopher D. Kunkle and Steven L. Sproul, David Lee, age 34, of Lenoir City went to be with the Lord Friday morning, October 22, 2004 at U. T. Medical Center. David was a devoted Christian and a member of Two Rivers Church. He was a Codes Enforcement Officer for Knox County and was owner of Cornerstone Home Inspection Service. David was an avid outdoors man, loved to water ski and was a member of the Skiers of Knoxville. He was very active in the community, serving in a variety of ways. David was a loving husband, father and son. He was preceded in death by step grandfather, Andrew Smith; grandfather, Cline D. Burton; grandmother, Clellah Sproul. Survivors: wife of 11 years, Kristal Sproul; daughter, Shelby Leigh Sproul; parents, Terry and Carole Sproul of Knoxville; brother, Scott Lee Sproul of Knoxville; grandmother, Sarah Smith of Philadelphia, TN; grandfather, James Sproul of Ohio; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Ron and Judy Henry of Knoxville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Celeste Henry; nieces, Sidney and Riley Henry; several other close relatives and numerous close friends. Solomon, Nelle Blackburn, age 89, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday October 25, 2004, at Baptist Health Care Center. She was the wife of deceased Rotarian and A&P executive J.J. Solomon. She was born in Lenoir City, TN. She graduated from Lenoir City High School, attended Tennessee State Teachers College in Johnson City, TN and taught at Lenoir City High and Loudon County Browder School. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She lived in Columbus, GA for 28 years. Preceded in death by husband Jewell J. Solomon, parents, E. R. and Addie Hart Blackburn; Blackburn brothers, Ralph, Clarence, and Kenneth. Survived by her son Thomas J. Solomon and wife Sally of Lakeland, Florida; sisters, Faye Dorward Fox of Virginia, and Alice Harrison of Lenoir City; sister-in-law Naomi Blackburn of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Sandra Seefried of Orlando, Florida and Thomas Scott Solomon of Lakeland, Florida; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Johnson, John Christopher (Chris), age 39, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, October 26, 2004. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Youth Worker and did maintenance for church vehicles. Chris was an employee of Carboloy. He was an avid U. T. Fan. He coached Little League Baseball, Football, Basketball and was an Upward Basketball Referee. Chris was a wonderful loving husband and father. Jenkins, Robert Alfred, age 54, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of First Church of God in Lenoir City. A veteran serving in the U. S. Navy. Robert was foreman with Homerich Wrecking. Preceded in death by parents, Harrison and Mildred Dyer Jenkins. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Sherry Bivens Jenkins; daughters, Shonna Baker of Lenoir City, Brandy Baker of Fountain City and Mike Baker of Lenoir City; son, David Jenkins and wife, Debra of Lenoir City; grandchildren, T. J., Kimberly, Katelyn, Jacob, Breanna, Jeremy, Rebecca and Haley; sisters, Elma Lea Holloway of Michigan, Carmelitta Brannon of Greenback, Teresa Berry, Tammy Bolt both of Lenoir City, Karen Jenkins, Sharon McCloud both of Greenback, Lisa Jenkins of Cleveland and Misty Brown of Miss.; brothers, DuVaughn Jenkins of Lenoir City; several aunts, uncles nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Friday with Rev. Morgan Davis officiating. Family and friends will gather at 3 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 3:30 p.m. graveside services. Military honors will be conferred by VFW Post #5150 and American Legion Post #120, #70 and #256. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Robert A. Jenkins.

Headrick, Vernon, born November 10, 1919 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 25, 2004. He was preceded in death by mother, Lucy and father, Jeff Headrick; three brothers, Ray, Artist and Jeff “Eddie” Headrick; one sister, Nellie. Surviving relatives, two loving sisters, Lonetis Rager of Holly, MI and Frances Thomas of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at their convenience at the home of his sister, Frances Thomas in Lenoir City. Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Martel Methodist Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Sam Thomas officiating. Military honors will be conferred by VFW Post 5150 and American Legion Post #120, #70 and #256. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Vernon Headrick.
