Muggli, Edgar Timothy, age 77, of Knoxville formerly of Loudon, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Parkwest Medical Center. Glassmire, Anita M., age 74, of Farragut, formerly of Croydon, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 28, 2004 at Autumn Health Care Facility in Knoxville. Anita was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Croydon, PA. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 52 years, Charles Glassmire. Anita was instrumental in establishing the CYO organization at St. Thomas formulating all male and female sports teams, as well as coaching various teams. She picked the black and orange colors, still used by the St. Thomas CYO teams. Anita was a former employee of Apple Cake Tea Room. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was very active. She was seen often walking in the neighborhood, talking to friends. Other survivors include, children and spouses, Chuck and Lissa Glassmire of Doylestown, PA, Donna and Gary Volpe of Farragut, Deborah and John Russell of Farragut; grandchildren, Kelly, Leeana, Jesse, Jake, Chuckie, Nick, Dylan; sister, Judy Hart of Levittown, PA; several nieces and nephews. Patty, Lillian G., age 80, of Dayton, Ohio formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004 in Ohio. She was of the Baptist Faith. Acuff, Dr. Donald S. age 50 of Loudon County, formerly of Fountain City, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, October 30, 2004 at his home. Don was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, where he was a member of the choir, vestry and active in many other ministries. He was Director of Pathology Labs West, Park West Hospital Laboratories and the laboratory of Lakeshore Mental Health Institute. Don was a lover of nature, people, his work and life. He loved family, friends and helping others. Every person he met, he touched their heart. Don enjoyed his many years at Norris Lake. He was preceded in death by his father, Tea Edward Acuff Sr. M.D. Survivors: wife of 23 years, Lynda B. Acuff; children, Matthew Acuff and Rachel Acuff both of the home; mother, Mary O. Eldon W. Strunk, Jr. (Bug), age 75, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, October 30, in Georgia. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Atlanta Local # 72 Plumber and Steamfitters Union. Eldon served with the United States Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by his parents, Eldon Strunk, Sr. and Bess Watters Strunk; brother, Jim Strunk. He is survived by his four children: Patricia Robbins of Atlanta, Steven Strunk and Karen Simpson both of Newport News, VA, Daryl Strunk of Atlanta; sisters, Shirley Gossage and Millie Gray both of Lenoir City; brothers, Sid and Sanford Strunk both of Lenoir City; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Long, Charles William (Chuck), age 52, of Cayce, S.C. formerly of Lenoir City, passed away September 29, 2005. Chuck was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #760 and worked as a journeyman electrician. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in West Columbia, S.C. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mildred Fritts Long; sister, Judy Long Walsh. Survived by wife, Frances Peagler Long of Cayce, S.C.; brother-in-law, Bo Walsh; aunts, Mary Blakney, Vera Bivens all of Lenoir City, and Shirley Bonneville of Arlington, VA; uncle, W. D. Virginia Harris McLain, 80, of Knoxville, TN passed away October 4, 2005 at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She was born in Newbern, TN to Porter McCorkle Harris and A. G. Harris. Raised in Lake County TN, she graduated from Tiptonville High School, Gulf Park College in Gulfport, MS and The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She married James L. McLain of Louisville, KY while both were at UT. Following graduation, Virginia was a public school teacher until the birth of their daughter, Ginny Lee McLain-Tate. Career opportunities took the family to Memphis, Ridgely, and Chattanooga, TN; Connecticut; Michigan; and Monterrey, Mexico before settling in Ventura, CA for the 18 years prior to them joining their daughter in Knoxville seven years ago. Virginia lead an active life which included volunteer work, Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and a PEO member while in California. She served as an elder in the Congregational Church in Connecticut and was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. She had a life-long love for coffee and conversation with friends and was an avid bridge player. She leaves her devoted husband of 58 years, Jim, her daughter, Ginny, son-in-law Frank Tate of Knoxville, sister Edie Harris Ford of Dyersburg, TN and several nieces and nephews. Duggan, Jerry Lynn, age 63, of Loudon, passed away Friday, October 7, 2005, at his home. Jerry was of the Baptist Faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force where he proudly served his country and community in Vietnam. Jerry was president of Highland Park Ruritan and a devoted Loudon Co. Bus Driver of Bus No. 10 for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and playing cards. Slate, Sarah Kate Phillips, age 93, of Knoxville, formerly of Hendersonville, TN, passed away early Monday morning, October 17, 2005, at Baptist Healthcare Center, Lenoir City, TN. Kate was a member of West End Church of Christ in Knoxville and was very active until her health failed. She was a former volunteer at Park West Hospital. Her husband, Carl Slate, preceded Kate in death. Guinn, Grace Elizabeth Boring, age 89, of Concord/Farragut passed away late Sunday evening, October 16, 2005 at Baptist Health Care Center. Grace was a graduate of Farragut High School, Hiawassee College and earned her bachelors degree in education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her first teaching assignment was at Pine Valley School in Oak Ridge for three years during World War II. In 1936, Grace accepted a teaching position at Farragut, where she taught fourth and fifth grades for 35 years. She was quoted as saying "She never met a child she couldn't love". Grace was a life long member of Concord United Methodist Church. She attended the Special Studies Sunday School Class, as well as helping with the youth at the church. Grace was a member of the DAR, a life member of Farragut PTA, the Farragut Folklife Museum, She was an avid gardener, cook and was always caring and giving to others. Her motto was " Work hard and play hard". Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Samuel Franklin Guinn Sr; parents, Frank Lee Boring and Lula Miller Boring; brothers-in-law, Henry Guinn, Dr. James Guinn, Ralph Guinn, Vernon Houser and Ray Guinn; sister-in-law, Marie Guinn; cousin, Dixie Lynn Cox and her life long friend Nawoka Adams. Ledbetter, Ella Bea, age 61, of Farrgaut formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, October 17, 2005 at Park West Hospital. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Preceded in death by parents, Don and Mary Easter; and brother, John Easter. Survived by husband, Lonnie Ledbetter; daughter, Donna Ledbetter of Lenoir City; son, Randy Ledbetter of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Teisha Duncan and Brandon Ledbetter both of Lenoir City; brother, Douglas Easter of Loudon; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ben Ward officiating. Family and friends will gather by 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 10 a.m. graveside services. Serving as pallbearers: John Newcomb, Nicholas Easter, Ronnie Ledbetter, Lloyd Powers, Bill McPeek, John Easter and Ronnie Jones. Robinson, Rickey Doyle, age 55, of Annapolis, MD, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away October 5, 2005,at his home. Rickey was a graduate of Lenoir City High School and a Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle Elwood Robinson and Charslee Shaw Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Berretta Robinson of Boston, MA; brother, Mike Robinson and wife, Linda of Lenoir City. A private graveside service will be held with full military honors being conferred by VFW Post 5150 and the American Legion Posts 120,70 and 256.
