Rev. Everett J. Beason, age 67, of Kingston, formerly of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord, Monday evening, October 9, 2006. Rev. Beason was a member of Shepherd's Fold Baptist Church in Loudon and has pastored several churches in Loudon County and several other surrounding counties. Rev. Beason was a lifelong farmer and drove Loudon County School Bus number 26 for 20 years. He was a loving father and devoted friend. Rev. Beason was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; son, James Daryl Beason; granddaughter, Amanda Cagley Maher; father, Dave Beason; brother, Ronnie Dean Beason; sister, Opal Janow. He is survived by his children and spouses, Gary Wayne Beason and Dee Dee of Greenville, TN, Sharon Cagley and Rev. Joey of Knoxville, James Beason and Sandra of Lenoir City, Sonya Price of Sweetwater; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; mother, Roxie Beason Roberts of Sweetwater; sister, Connie Powell and husband, Mike of Sweetwater; brother, David Beason and wife, Louise of GA; several nieces, nephews and many special friends; special lifelong friend, Hugh Hickey. Gilland, Nancy Reynolds, age 87, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, October 9, 2006 at Loudon Healthcare Center. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and retired from Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill. Preceded in death by husband, Wayne Gilland; infant daughter, Michel Gilland; son, Mike Gilland; parents, James and Oleta Reynolds; brothers, Sam, Robert, J. R., George (Shorty), and R. L.; sisters, Annie Howard, Ola Lawson and Fannie Reynolds. Survived by sisters, Bunia Baldwin and husband, Clarence of Maryville, Edna (Tiny) Moore and husband, Curtis of Lenoir City; T. K. Redmond that she raised as her daughter and her children, Michael and Heather all of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Daniel C. Letizio, age 92, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday evening at his home. Dan began his life journey on May 30, 1914 in Sicily, Italy and came to the United States in October of 1914. God called for him to come home, and he ended the journey here September 27, 2006. He was preceded in death by his son, James Letizio; parents, Carmello and Theodora Letizio; sisters, Mary Batagalia and Elena Fisher; brother, Giani Letizio. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynne Letizio; children, Daniel Letizio Jr. and Charles Letizio of Cleveland, OH, Tonna Flachbart, Theresa Fritts, Sherry Morgan and step-son, Chuck Miller; adopted family member, Nancy Elkins; 9 grandchildren all of TN, Daniel Joseph, Suzie Miller, Mary Kristenson, Joni Hewitt, Judy Letizio, James Michael and June Letizio all of OH; great grandfather of many; sisters, Angelina Coro and Jeanne Mirabella both of Buffalo, New York. Foley, Rebecca Catherine (Cathy) - age 36 of Oak Ridge, formerly of Lenoir City, departed this life, Tuesday, October 10, 2006. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. Cathy was a respiratory therapist at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. She loved her family and friends, gospel music and fly fishing. Cathy was a graduate of Lenoir City High School where she graduated with honors and was a member of the Marching Band. She was graduate of East Tennessee State University and Roane State Community College. Preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Carrie Asher; James and Margaret Foley and Aunt Edna Westerfield. Johnnie Quincy Adams Shultz (Aunt Quincy), March 14, 1916 - October 10, 2006, of Chattanooga, formerly of Lenoir City. Aunt Quincy completed her mission on earth and went away to be with our loving Savior on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Aunt Quincy brought love and laughter wherever she was. She was fun-loving and always wanted a group of family and friends around her. She proudly accepted the mission God assigned her and bloomed wherever she was planted. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. J. Shultz; father, John Quincy Adams; mother, Lillie Carrol Adams; and sister, Vieva Adams Kanak. Sandra Bourkard Lockett, age 65, died unexpectedly of a stroke at Baptist Hospital West on Wednesday, October 11. Her life was a vivid example of caring and much love for her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, Sarah, Bryson, Tindell, Clay, Elizabeth, Sander, Graham, and Noah. She was an active and much-beloved member of Two Rivers Church in Farragut. Sandy was a life-long resident of East Tennessee having grown up in Knoxville before her marriage to her husband, Stephen. They lived in Oklahoma and Oak Ridge before moving to their farm in Loudon County in 1972. Sandy was always generous with her love and time to all her family and friends. Her strong Christian faith was on display for all she met. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Harrison O. Bourkard, Jr. and her special niece, Lanie Ann Crowell. She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Stephen Lockett; children, Scott Lockett and wife, Deborah of Alexandria, Virginia; Jeffrey Lockett and former wife, Laura of Knoxville; Connie Farmer and husband, David; Jennifer Lockett; Dede Wolfe and husband, Jody all of Loudon County. Miller, Goldie Cook - passed away Friday, October 13, 2006, at her home in Loudon County. She was born in Union County, TN, November 7, 1910. She was of the Baptist faith. Goldie was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degrees. She taught school for 38 years in Union County, Burdette Grade School, Lake City, Sweetwater and retired from Lenoir City High School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, United Daughters of Confederacy, and Daughters of American Revolution. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Eli Miller and Naomi Cook Miller, sisters: Ruby Baker, Opal Hale, Maude Bartolett and Edna Palmer; brother, Dixie Miller. Cox, Jeanette Marie, age 51, of Farragut. The angels of Heaven escorted Jeanette through the gates of Heaven, as she died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. We’re certain she was welcomed by Jesus, her Saviour and Lord, and many loved ones who had died before her, including her beloved brother-in-law and sister, Charles and Joyce Cox; her father, Clarence Bullard and her father-in-law, Herbert C. Cox. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Phillip B. Cox of Farragut; a treasured daughter, Jennifer Best (Jerry); a special niece, Breanna Smith, who was like a daughter to her; mother, Lois Randolph; sisters, Joan Duggan and Judy Smith (Bill) all of Lenoir City; brothers, Tommy Yates of Macon, GA and Eddie Yates (Ilanie) of Wetumpka, AL; mother-in-law, Joann Cox of Oak Ridge (currently Summit View Nursing Home of Farragut); brother-in-law, Bruce Cox (Joan) of Huntsville, AL; sisters-in-law, Renee’ Vassallo (Vince) of Pahrump, NV, and Janie Cox of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. Jeanette was born December 21, 1954 in Sylacauga, AL, and moved with her family to the Lenoir City area and graduated from Farragut High School and later from Tusculum College in 1996. She worked for Martin Marietta Y-12, and left in 1999 to begin her courageous battle of receiving a liver transplant and later fighting ovarian cancer. Jeanette loved her family and loved cooking for them and caring for them. She also loved her church, Bell Avenue Baptist of Lenoir City, was formerly active as the church Treasurer, and most recently as the Editor and Publisher of the church bulletin. She loved Jesus and loved telling people about Him and loved singing in the choir. Now she’s singing in the heavenly choirs and praising her Lord face to face! Billy Joe Littleton,age 81 of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006. Billy Joe was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Billy Joe was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy. He was retired from in Oak Ridge Y-12 plant and also from Lenoir Schools. Billy Joe served on the Lenoir City School Board for 35 years, was Chairman of Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative and was active with the youth sports and education for many years. He was preceded in death by parents, Blaine and Jorea Littleton; siblings: Sue Cover, Eugene and Jackie Littleton, Joann Keener; granddaughter, Jennifer Perkey. Ada Volena (Vo) Mourfield,age 89 of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City, TN. Vo was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She owned and maintained Vo's Beauty Shop in her home for many years. Vo was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Elsworth Mourfield; parents, William and Easter Johnson; brothers, Rev. D. O. Johnson and W. B. Johnson; sister, Lois Liles. Krouse, Marvin Gene - of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Park West Hospital. Marvin was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by mother, Jessie Mae Krouse; father, James (Bowser) Krouse; brothers, Staff Sgt. James C. Krouse and Gilbert (Bunky) Krouse; nephews, James Suits and Christopher Krouse. Ruth Margaret Pitcher, age 85, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Freeport, FL, passed away Wednesday, morning, October 18, 2006. Ruth was active in local church and community affairs in Portland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pitcher. Survivors: sons, Paul, David and Bruce Pitcher. A memorial service will be held in Knoxville TN. Evelyn DeFord Peters, 0f Lenoir City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2006. She was a gospel songwriter and poet for 50 years. Evelyn was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She leaves her loving husband and caregiver of 58 years, J. C. Peters. Preceded in death by mother, Beulah Nelson DeFord; father, Charles DeFord; sisters, Clarice Price and Thelma Sexton; brother, Ralph DeFord; sister-in-law, Alberta E. Hickman; many nieces and nephews. Survivors including husband; special care giver and niece, Cheryl Veal Campbell of Farragut; sister, Frances Veal of Lenoir City; brother-in-law, Roy Price of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Loma Peters Johnson of Armada, MI, June Peters of Scottsdale, Arizona and Aliese Peters Hemp of LaMirada, California; several nieces and nephews. Eugene Norris, age 85, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday morning, October 19, 2006 at his home. Eugene served in Engineering with the U. S. Army in W W II. He retired from the Department of Justice Civil Service. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Laura Norris; brothers, Scott, Hasson and Bob Norris; sister, Ila Mae Glass. Kenneth M. Calloway, age 82, of Lenoir City, passed away October 17, 2006. Kenneth was a member of the Methodist Church and American Legion Post 70 in Lenoir City. He was a veteran of World War II serving the country in the United States Army. Kenneth retired as an electrician after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Lena Calloway and his sister, Geraldine. Survived by his wife, Rosemary Luttrell Calloway; son, Phillip Calloway; sister, Betty Miller; brothers-in-law, Joe, Bobby Jean and John Luttrell; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Price along with several nieces and nephews. Robert Earl (Bob) Wyrick, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday evening, October 18, 2006, at his home. Bob was a graduate of Central High School, attended the University of Tennessee, and served two years with the U.S. Army. Bob was a talented artist who used his gift to bring happiness to hundreds by commemorating special events through his artwork. He retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems K-25 plant following 20 years of service. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Russell Wyrick, and infant daugher, Mary Elizabeth Wyrick. Survivors: wife of 53 years, Wanda Ailor Wyrick; sons Mark and Joe Wyrick, Jim Wyrick and wife Vickie; grandchildren Amy, Matt, and triplets Austin, Aylor and Alyson; two great grandchildren; brother Richard T. Raby, Ruth Myers, age 75, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday morning, October 21, 2006 at her home. Ruth fought cancer for many years, but never complained. She was a member of Grassy Valley Baptist Church. Ruth was an avid quilter. She retired from Levi Strauss with 15 years of service. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn R. Green, Ellen Moorby, age 71, of Farragut, passed away Thursday morning, October 19, 2006. Ellen was born and reared in the Philadelphia, PA area. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She moved to Knoxville in 1980. Ellen was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church; a member for many years of the U.T. Faculty Women's Club, Oak Ridge Community Orchestra and several local book clubs and quilting groups. Ellen is the widow of Dr. Frank D. Green Jr. She is survived by her three children Lt. Col. Patricia Ellen Tilson serving with the U.S. Army in Washington D.C.; Suzanne Elizabeth Peters and husband Brian of Farragut; Thomas Anson Green and wife Jane of Surfside, FL; grandchildren Alexander Bascom Peters and Christopher Thomas Peters. A Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 2 at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Farragut with The Rev. Matthew Dutton-Gillett and The Rev. Paige Buchholz officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Graveside services and interment 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 3 at the East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Elizabeth's Church memorial fund, 110 Sugarwood Drive, Knoxville, TN 37934.
