Souder, Rudy Vallie (R.V.), age 74, of Lenoir City, formerly of Rome, GA, passed away early Thursday morning, September 23, 2004 at Baptist Hospital West. R.V. was a member of Meridan Baptist Church in Knoxville. He was a member of the Optimist Club in South Knoxville for many years. R.V. was an avid golfer and was a member of Holston Hills Country Club for 18 years and a member of the Avalon Golf Community for six and a half years. He was an employee of Rome Hardware for several years. He established the builders hardware division for William S. Trimble in Knoxville and retired after 34 years of service as Executive Vice President. R. V. was a veteran of the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Shea DM30 from 1947 to 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Pearl Souder; sister, Lou Emma Hicks; brothers, Kyle, Harold and Ladell Souder. Survivors: wife of 54 years, Nell Ozment Souder; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Souder Thurman and Don of Knoxville, Karen Souder Davis and husband C. Reed of Farragut; grandchildren, Josh Thurman of Nashville, Courtney Thurman Perry and husband Trey of Portland, TN, Whitney and Brandon Davis both of Farragut; special granddogs, P.J. and Oskie; sister, Faye McLemore and husband Bill of Rome, GA; brothers, Coy Souder and wife Ella, Hudon Souder all of Rome, GA, Eugene Souder and wife Genevieve of Centre, AL; sisters-in-law, Ella Souder and Margie Souder both of Cedar Bluff, AL; several nieces and nephews. Ashley, L. Forrest, age 85, of Lenoir City, formerly of Clendenin, West VA, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at his home. He was a member of Advent Christian Church in Clendenin. Forrest retired from Columbia Gas after 46 years service. He served in the U. S. Army Air Force during W. W. II. A 32nd Degree Mason and former mayor of Clendenin. Preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Herbert, Oral and Garnet Ashley. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Hively Ashley; children, June Bryan and husband, Tony of FL and Ann Maroney and husband, Robert of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jason Hamelin, Leigh and Lisa Maroney; brother, Leo Ashley of Elkview, West VA; several nieces and nephews. Covington, Kenneth, age 75, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Maryville Health Care. He was of the Baptist faith. An former employee of Covington Batteries. Preceded in death by wife, Edith Covington; brother, Clyde Covington and sister, Edith Covington. Jeter, Minnie Lucille Cochraham departed this life Monday, September 27, 2004 at her home in Concord, Tennessee. Minnie was born in Greene County, TN on July 2, 1922 to Roderick Luthur and Ada Pearl (Isom) Cochraham. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Minnie faithfully attended Concord AME Zion Church. Malone, Marie Bass (nee Jones), age 93, of Lenoir City, died peacefully at Northhaven Healthcare Center in Knoxville, Monday, September 27, 2004. Marie was a lifelong resident of Lenoir City. Preceded in death by beloved husbands, Roy W. Malone and A. Paul Bass; infant daughter, Ruth Malone; father, Jimmy Jones; mother, Isabell Tate Jones Rogers; sister, Jean Thornburg; brothers, R. Halliburton, James Allen (Jim), age 72, of Knoxville departed this life Tuesday morning, September 28, 2004 to be with his Heavenly Father. Jim was born on September 3, 1932 to the late James Earl and Marie Halliburton. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jim was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority, a former TN State Trooper and was President of Heart Support of America. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the Navy. He enjoyed gospel music and had a beautiful tenor voice. Survivors include his precious and devoted wife of 49 years whom he adored, Dale Halliburton; daughter, Pajet B. Kirk; grandchildren, Britney D. Barnes, J. Talan Kirk, D. Mendoza, Ernesto Murillo, age 54, of Woodward, OK, formerly of Roane County, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the Woodward Regional Medical Center in Woodward Oklahoma. He served in the USMC for 8 years serving in Vietnam were he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abelino E. and Soledad Murillo Mendoza; brother, Ruben M. Mendoza and a grandson, Matthew Gamez. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Edna M. Palmer, Gregory K., age 17, of Farragut went home to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, September 29, 2004 as a result of an automobile accident. Greg was an organ donor. He was a Senior at Farragut High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church Sevierville and also attended Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Greg was an employee of Westgate Resort in Gatlinburg. He loved cars, fishing and country music. Greg was full of life, always a happy person with a smile on his face. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Greg was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Carl and Sarah Major. Steve attended Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was an employee of Kennametal Carbide Corporation in Karns. Steve was a veteran of the U S Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion. Steve enjoyed his farm and his animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elizabeth Smith Herdman; sister, Deborah. Retired from Miller’s Dept. Store. Alma worked at Parkwest Medical Center as a volunteer. McMurtery, Donald Lee, age 59, of Philadelphia, passed away Monday September 5, 2005 at the Erlanger Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He was of the Baptist Faith and was an employee of the Intelligrade Conveyor Systems. Donald loved to fish, and was a good husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ellis and Evelyn Harvey McMurtery. Barnette, Beatrice, of Lenoir City, formerly of Rockhouse, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2005. She was a member of Brenton Baptist Church, Brenton, W. VA. Bea formerly operated Bea’s Restaurant in Rockhouse, W. Va. Preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Barnette, Sr.; sons, Floyd Barnette and Gordon Barnette. Survived by her daughter, Angie Moore and husband, Ed; granddaughters, Shannon Barnette and Madison Moore all of Lenoir City, TN; grandson, David Moore of Sevierville, TN and adopted granddaughter, Teresa Day of Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Click officiating. Family and friends will gather at 3 p.m. Monday in Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, West Virginia for graveside services. Bonacci, Nicholas A. (Nick), age 52, of Farragut passed away suddenly early Friday morning, September 9, 2005 at his home. Nick was an employee of SAIC and had been contracted to Alstom Power in Knoxville. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Nick was preceded in death by his wife, Deirdre Ann Bonacci; brother, Robert Bonacci. Survivors: daughters, Nicole Bonacci and Monica Bonacci both of Farragut; parents, Nick and Dorothy Bonacci of Florida; several other relatives. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m on Tuesday September the 13 in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909.Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel 11915 Kingston Pike is serving the Bonacci family.

Shaw, Vida Ouida, age 82, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday September 9, 2005 at the Loudon Healthcare. She was of the Baptist Faith. Vida is survived by special friends, Lisa Dishner and Fay Bailey of Lenoir City. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.
