Soward, James B. (Jim), age 77, of Lenoir City passed away Monday morning, June 25, 2001 at the Parkwest Hospital. He was a member of Lenoir City Church of Christ. A retired Engineer from Y-12 in Oak Ridge. Jim was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the Navy. Preceded in death by mother, Ruby Soward Fine. Kelly, Carl Junior, age 49, of Lenoir City passed away suddenly early Monday morning, June 25, 2001 from an automobile accident. He was a member of Rescue Shop Independent Church. Survived by wife, Lisa Kelly of Lenoir City; daughter, Angela Kelly; mother, Juanita Kelly; sister, Betty Kelly all of Indiana; stepchildren, John Kelly of Indiana, Chastity Britton, Misty Britton and Heather Britton all of Lenoir City; 2 grandchildren; and 2 step grandchildren. Rhyne, Charlsie, age 87, of Karns passed away Wednesday June 27, 2001, Charlsie was retired from Allied Chemical. Hines, Mary Ellen of Lenoir City passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 2001 at the Baptist Health Care Center. Mrs. Hines was born November 2, 1922 in Lenoir City and was a devoted, lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was Valedictorian of the 1940 class of Lenoir City High School, attended Berea College, and in 1942 began a 44 year career with TVA during the final construction phase of Fort Loudon Dam. She cherished her TVA friends and after retirement maintained close ties with many of them. She was proud to be a Lenoir City resident all her life. She was an avid bridge player belonging to many clubs over the years; a member of the Thursday Sewing Club, and the Tuesday Club. The hardships of Depression and War helped to make her like many of this generation, an eternal optimist. This helped sustain her during a long fight with cancer, but it was the love she shared with family, the church, friends, club members, and neighbors that helped her the most. The family is deeply grateful for the support and care given her by so many people for so long. Mrs. Hines is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Harrison Hines; parents, Fred Martin Wilkerson and Anna Mae Fisher Wilkerson; brother and sister-in-law, Martin Fisher Wilkerson and Nelle Taylor Wilkerson; brother, Charles Frederick Wilkerson; sister, Emily Wilkerson Caldwell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred Jones Smith and Kathleen Hines Smith. She is survived by her sons, James Harrison Hines and Walter Parker Hines both of Lenoir City; son-in-law and daughter, James Edward Chellew and Kathleen Hines Chellew of St. Louis, MO; son-in-law and daughter, Victor John Przysiezny and Cynthia Ellen Hines of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Kathleen Chellew, Amanda Ellen Chellew, Benjamin Parker Chellew of St. Louis, and Emily Diane Hines of Chicago; brother and sister-in-law, James Allen Wilkerson and Ann Boyer Wilkerson of Rock Hill, S.C.; and first cousin, Betty Kate Wilkerson McCown of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Larmee, Walter T., age 83, of Farragut, passed away Friday evening, June 29, 2001, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Walt was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and the Lord's Chapel. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Pharmacy. Walt was retired from Eli Lilly and Co. after 34 years as a sales representative. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army in the Pacific Theater. Walt was a charter member of Fox Den County Club and an avid golfer. Survivors: wife of 47 years, Margery J. Larmee; son, Brad Larmee of Farragut; daughter, Lisa Larmee of Farragut; brother, John Larmee of Louisville KY; several nieces and nephews. McReynolds, Ollie Rhea, age 94, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening, June 30, 2001, at the Baptist Health Care Center. Ollie Rhea was a devoted Christian always ready to praise her Jesus to her friends and loved ones. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Lenoir City for 53 years. Along with her husband, Howard, she sang duets at many local churches. She was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Ida Harvey Mills; husband, Howard McReynolds; brothers: Robert, Homel and Bart Mills; sisters, Willie Hyde and Edna Bradley; son-in-law, Bobbie Fox. Ollie is survived by her daughter, Jonnie Fox of Lenoir City; son, Arnold McReynolds and wife Peggy of Vero Beach, Fl.; grandsons, Herbert and Samuel McReynolds; grandaughters: Susan Fulbright, Frances Cupp and Lea Ann Sparks; Seven great grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Pritchard, Edward Louis, age 46, of White Wing Road, Lenoir City passed away suddenly Thursday, June 1, 2000 at Fort Sanders Loudon Hospital. Eddie was a member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church and attended Center View Baptist Church in Concord. He was a good father and loved his children. She worked as a cashier at the Kroger store located on Northshore Drive. Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandson, James Cameron Reed. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Alan Cameron Reed. Children and spouses, Thomas James and Day Reed of San Jose, CA, Donna Reed and David Morris of Fredericksburg, VA, Robert Cameron Reed of Riggold, GA, and Timothy Wesley Reed of Knoxville. Jenkins, Benton Allen, age 66, of Loudon Tn., formerly of Chamblee Ga., passed away suddenly Saturday afternoon June 3, 2000 in a boating accident in Loudon. Benton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Loudon American Legion Post 120 and the V F W in Marietta. Benton retired in 1998 as a painting contractor in the Atlanta area. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for almost 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Fritts Long and daughter, Judith Long Walsh. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Frances P. Hamilton, Selma Elizabeth Givens, age 94, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, June 18, 2000 at the Baptist Health Care Center. A longtime member of Sixth Ave. Church of God. She was active with the ladies ministries. Retired from Charles H. Bacon Hospital in Loudon. She and her husband owned and operated Hamilton Grocery on Sixth Ave. in Lenoir City for many years. Selma was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. (Bill) Hamilton who was a former Lenoir City Mayor, City Councilman, Justice of the Peace, and the first president of the Bank of Lenoir City. She is survived by her children: Jim Hamilton and wife Margaret of Lenoir City, JoAnn Bolella and husband Louis of Windsor, Conn., Mena Rather and husband Gilbert of Lenoir City, Roy Hamilton and wife Geneva of Lenoir City, Teresa Horst and husband Dale of Lenoir City. 16 grandchildren, 22 great - grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren. Sister, Hazel Justice of Rockwood. Brother, Sewell Givens of Rockwood. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Steve McCullar and Rev Ernie Varner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lenoir City Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.

Underwood, James Strickler, age 83, of Lenoir City passed away Monday, June 19, 2000 at his home. He was a retired meteorologist with the United States Air Force and United Airlines. A veteran of W.W. II and Korean War serving in the U. S. Air Force. Preceded in death by his wife, Delores Faulkner Underwood; son, Michael Underwood; brother-in-law, Paul Faulkner. Survived by his son, Steve Underwood of Seattle, Wa.; mother-in-law, Thelma Oslizly of Lenoir City; special friend, Barbara Faulkner. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Frankie Parris will officiate. Manis, Hugh Edward age 83, of 139 Lane Road, Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday morning June 21, 2000, at his home. Hugh was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Navy. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lydia Eblen Manis; brothers, Claude and Glenn Manis. Survivors: wife, Maxine Purkey Manis; sisters, Hazel Walker of Lenoir City, Edith Madgett of Mascot, Lyda McCurry of Lenoir City; brother, Curtis Manis of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 11 A.M. Friday, in the Click Funeral Home, Chapel with Rev. Milton Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake View Cemetery with Rev. Howard Pratt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.

Humphreys, Robert F. of Lenoir City passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2000 at Park West Hospital. He was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church and recently attended First Baptist Church Concord. Bob was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Security. He successfully owned and operated Bob Humphreys Tour. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving in the Army. A dedicated member of Bright Hope Masonic Lodge #557 F & AM where he earned his 32 degree and a member of the Scottish Rite. Survived by his wife, Nancy Humphreys; daughter, Terri Bussell and husband, Jim of Lenoir City; much adored granddaughter, Sarah Bussell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill & Betty Humphreys of Knoxville, Ben and Betsy Humphreys of Virginia; brother-in-law, Raymond Purdy of Lenoir City; sister-in-law, Wanda Loy and husband, Don of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; very special family friends, Louise Loy of Knoxville, Barbara Wolf of Arkansas; many other very special friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m. Rev. David Bluford will officiate. Barron Robert, age 84, of Concord passed away suddenly Tuesday evening June 20, 2000 at his home. Robert was born in Wallands Creek Kentucky and moved to Concord in 1939. He was a retired representative of Kentucky Central Life Insurance Company. Robert was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church Concord. He was a member of Burlington Lodge #763 F&AM. Robert was a veteran of World War II with the Army 12th Armored Division. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lula Barron; sisters, Martha Childers and Juanita Scarbrough; brothers, Charlie, William, Raymond and Ted Barron; 3 infant children. Survivors: wife of 59 years, Mary S. Barron; sons, Robert E. Barron of Lenoir City, David M. Barron of Houston Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian B. and Joe Summitt of Mountain View Arkansas; many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services 2 P.M. Saturday Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Rev. Joseph T. Nickell and Rev. Bob Sessoms officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Masonic Cemetery with a masonic service to be conferred by Burlington Lodge and full honors to be conferred by the East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard. Nephews will serve as Pall Bearers. Deacons of First Baptist Church Concord will serve as Honorary Pall Bearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Home Bound Ministries at First Baptist Church Concord. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel 11915 Kington Pike.
