Key, James William, age 52, of Loudon, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday afternoon January 17, 2001 in Nashville. James attended Grace Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Marine Corp. James was formerly a truck driver for BFI. He was a loving husband, father and son. James was preceded in death by his father, Robert Key; brothers, Johnny, Tommy, Charles and George Key; sister, Helen Key; brothers-in-law, Rev. Paul Faulkner and Glen Vanderford. Glosson, Ardella Duisen, age 70, of Ellijay, GA. formerly of the Dixie Lee Junction Community, Knox Co. passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at Haven House Hospice in Atlanta. She was a retired nurse working in Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Arkansas and Florida. Ardella was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Glosson; and parents, Elmer and Gladys Duisen. She is survived by children, Douglas Longmire of Acworth, GA., Bruce Longmire of Roswell, GA., Neal Longmire of Ninety Six, S.C. and Lee Ann Longmire of South Carolina; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Robert Duisen of Dixie Lee Junction; nephews, Robert and Richard Duisen; great nephews, Tony, Seth and Andrew Duisen; several aunts and uncles. Grace Hanson Davis, 86, died February 21 in Knoxville, TN. born in Rye, NH on July 16, 1914, she was the daughter of Capt. Christopher and Grace (Wright) Hanson. She was a graduate of Washington Academy, Washington State Normal School and later received a degree from the University of Maine at Machias. Grace was an elementary school teacher for many years. She was a devoted member of the First Congregational Church of Machiasport, Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Maine Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a charter member of the Machiasport Historical Society. She is survived by her daughter Anne and husband Frank Haseltine of Knoxville, TN; daughter-in-law Bettina Davis of Machiasport; grandsons James and wife Amy Haseltine of Omaha, NE and Eric Haseltine of Knoxville, TN; one great- grandson Skyler Haseltine. Also brother-in-law Jay Davis of Cutler; sisters- in -law, Elizabeth Small of Hollis and Laura Reed and husband Charles of Bradenton, FL;as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband James and their son Walton; sisters, Laura Hanson and Gladys Ingalls and a brother Howard Hanson. Jackson, Josie (Jo) of Halls, passed away Wednesday morning at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. Jo was a graduate of Joseph’s School of Beauty, and was a retired hair stylist. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Shelton and Pauline Monroe Shelton; sister, Nell Patton; and brother, Woodrow Shelton. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and David R. Ferguson of Farragut; son and daughter-in-law William Wesley Jackson III (Dick) and Micki of West Monroe, LA; a very dear former daughter-in-law, Myra Jackson of West Monroe LA; granddaughters, Whitney A. Thomas Newcome Greer III passed away at his home in Farragut on Saturday, February, 24, 2001. He was a devoted husband and father. Johnson, Marie L., age 83,departed this life on Sunday, Feb.6, 2000 at her home. She was born August 4, 1916 in Sabinal, NM. to parents Emilia and Gelacio Lobato. Her twin brother, Conrado Lobato; brothers, Ramon and Felipe Lopez; sisters, Cecilia Jearmillo and daughter Shirley Mae Johnson preceded her in death. She served as a volunteer nurses aid in the elementary schools in Lenoir City. She was instrumental in starting the Ladies Missionary Group, now known as the Women of the Church of God, at the Lenoir City First Church of God where she attended. Survivors include husband, Donald E. Johnson, Sr.; children, Mrs. Roger Hupp (Helen) of Wheeling, W. Va., Donald E. Shaver, Mary Nell Ellis, age 77, of Lenoir City passed away early Tuesday morning, February 8, 2000 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City. Preceded in death by parents, James H. and Vera Ridge Ellis; brother, Glen Ellis; sister, Margaret McCarroll. Survived by her husband, Gene Shaver; sons & daughters-in-law, Mark and Pam Shaver of Lenoir City, Gene Jr. and Valerie Shaver of Smyrna, Tn.; daughters & sons-in-law, Nancy and John Richesin of Knoxville, Jill and Daniel Belasco of Knoxville; sisters, Freida McNabb, Alice Robbins, Mildred Parkerson all of Lenoir City, and Nora Plant of Waverly, Tn.; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick DeMerchant and Rev. Bill Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens. Turpin, Frank Albert, age 62, of Concord, passed away Thursday evening February 10, 2000 at Hillcrest West Nursing Home. Frank was retired from Walkers Trucking Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Turpin Sr. and Pearl McFall Turpin. Brother, Gene Turpin. Survivors: Children, Frank Turpin of Knoxville, Diane Swann and husband Greg of Ala., Toni Cooper of Knoxville, Lisa Foster of California. Grandchildren, Sarah Patterson and husband Chris, Matthew Swann, Heather and Ashley Cooper, Chris, Travis and Angela Foster. Great granddaughter, Taylor Patterson. Levy, Barbara A., age 77, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday February 11,2000 at Baptist Health Care Center. Barbara was born and lived the majority of her life in South Bend, Indiana, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel "Sandy" Levy. She worked along side her husband in the accounting firm Levy, Tomchak and Taylor. Barbara was a talented seamstress, needle pointer and avid reader. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Phillip and Alene Levy. Haverhill, MA; son and daughter in law Mark and Cheryl Levy of Farragut, TN. Barbara has four grandchildren, Eli Levy-Munkholm of Boston, MA, Paul Levy-Munkholm of Brooklyn, NY, Ryan Levy of Raleigh, NC and Cassandra Levy of Farragut, TN. Mrs. Levy is also survived by her brothers Bill Buhler and George Buhler and sisters Geri Dawson of California and Suzanne Sherk of South Bend, IN. According to her wishes her body was cremated and her ashes will be spread at a private family ceremony. Memorial donations may e made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice. Sluder, James Ernest (Ernie), age 77, of Lenoir City, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Saturday February 12, 2000 at the Loudon Hospital. Ernie was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Lenoir City. A former employee of TVA. A veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Kate Sluder ; brother, Buddy Sluder ; sister, Jewell Harper. He is survived by his brothers, Bobby Sluder of Knoxville and Benny Sluder of Nashville ; sister, Ruth Brackett and husband Tom of Lenoir City; Nephews, Eddie Brackett and wife Terry of Lenoir City and Tommy Brackett of Lenoir City ; nieces, Sue Moore of Lenoir City and Jeanette Bowen of Oak Ridge. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Sunday followed by funeral services at 8 pm in the Click Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Ray Kelley and Rev Danny Kelley will officiate.
