Buena was of the Baptist faith. She was an employee of Yale and Towne for 17 years. She later worked in retail children's clothing for 15 years. Buena was a Knox Election Official for many years. Melton, Billy Stephan, age 51, of the Oral Community, Lenoir City, Tennessee, and more recently, of Dallas Texas, passed away early Wednesday morning August 9, 2000 at his home. Billy was a former member of Oral Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Kingston High School in Kingston Tennessee and the University of Tennessee. Billy taught Spanish at Lenoir City High School and taught English at the University of Manaus in Brazil. He later joined American Airlines as a flight attendant. Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Maj. Olen Kelmer Melton Jr.(Sonny). Bill was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was Sunday school superintendent for 15 years. He was retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems Inc. Y-12 and X-10 plants. Bill was a member of Avery Lodge 593 F&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, a past president of the Lenoir City Lions Club and served with the Army National Guard for several years. Munsey, M. Lucille Hall age 80, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning August 20, 2000, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Lucille was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a member of Louisville Eastern Star for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy H. Munsey. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Faye and Rev. Roy D. Cantrell of Lenoir City, Wynona and J.D. Ownby of Greenback; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several cousins; many devoted friends in the Glendale Community. Ray, Jesse Wayne, infant son of John and Kellie Ray of Farragut, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2000, at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Jesse Wayne was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Philip and Laura Ray, George and Rose Jones, Henry Clay Flynn. Franklin, James Ralph, age 78, of Concord, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2000 at Park West Hospital. He was of the Baptist Faith. Ralph was an employee of Johnson and Galyon. A member of Carpenters Local #50. Preceded in death by his parents, Bart & Jessie Robertson Franklin; brother, Dwight Franklin; sister, Mary Margaret Franklin. Shields, John Henry, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday morning, August 22, 2000 at the home of his son Fred after a lingering illness. John was a member of Stoney Point Baptist Church. Retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. Preceded in death by his wife, Edna Harrell Shields; parents, George & Nancy Shields; son, Clinton Shields and daughter, Patsy Garner. Survived by children and spouses, George & Louise Shields of Nashville, Kirby & Flo Shields of Iuka, Ms., Fred & Phyllis Shields of Madisonville, Jim & Frankie Shields of Lenoir City, Kenneth & Marsha Shields of Paint Rock, Joyce & Don Hosie of Salt Lake City, Ut., Ruth & Curtis Williams of Salt Lake City, Ut.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Curry, Nobuko Shibata, age 71, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, August 22, 2000. Nobuko was born June 23, 1929, in Tokyo, Japan. She was employed by the U.S. Naval Exchange in Atsugi, Japan from 1951 to 1957. She and her husband lived in Alexandria from 1962 to 1968 and from 1978 to 1989. Nobuko became a U.S. Citizen in June 1968. She was a member, and a Life Master, of the American Contract Bridge League. She was active in the American Diabetes Association. Nobuko lived in Tokyo and Atsugi, Japan, Philadelphia, PA, Alexandria, VA, Taipei, Taiwan, Stuttgart, Germany and Knoxville, TN. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James H. Curry Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Nancy S. Curry of Bowling Green, KY; granddaughter, Samantha Julian Curry of Bowling Green, KY; brother, Icherio Shibata of Tokyo, Japan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday September 3, 2000 at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel in Farragut, TN.
