Ellison, Clara Williams, age 92, of 615 West Broadway, Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 1999 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Lenoir City, where she had lived her entire life before going to Asbury Center, Johnson City two years ago. Mrs. Ellison was a daughter of the late Samuel and Pauline Smith Williams. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 79 years, where she had taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the church choir and was active in Baptist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ellison in 1982. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Patsy E. Pitts, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nancy E. and Ted A. Beach of Johnson City; three grandsons and a great granddaughter-in-law, Bret F. Beach of Johnson City, Barry A. Beach of Portland, Oregon, and Sam A. and Melissa Pitts of Chesapeake, Virginia; one great granddaughter, Lindsey M. Pitts of Chesapeake; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in the Lenoir City Cemetery. Vasofsky, Dr. Marie-Therese Verheye, age 51 of Loudon Tennessee passed away Tuesday October 26, 1999 at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Dr. Verheye was a General Surgeon with a private practice in Loudon County from 1979 until her retirement in early 1998. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. Dr. Verheye was born October 29, 1947 in Kortrijk Belgium to Ghislain and Christine Libbrecht Verheye. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jan, Paul and Tom Verheye; Sister, Anne Verheye. Survivors: husband, Richard Vasofsky. Children, Randy, Rodel and Maria Lyn Vasofsky all of Loudon. Brother, Peter Verheye and sister, Christine Verheye both of Belgium. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Tucker, Raymond G., age 67, of Loudon, passed away Monday October 25, 1999 at NHC Place Cavett Hill in Farragut. Raymond was of the Baptist faith. A veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the Army. He was a past exhalted Ruler of B P O Elks in Riverhead, New York. A member of Moose Lodge of Riverhead, New York. Hines, Carl Fredric, age 95, of 610 East Broadway Lenoir City, passed away Friday evening August 13, 1999 at the Baptist Health Care Center. Carl attended the Lenoir City Primitive Baptist Church. He was manager of the White Store for many years and a member of the Lenoir City Council for two terms. A veteran of World War II serving with the Army and the oldest living veteran in Loudon County. Thompson, Lee L. (Sonny) Jr. Chief Warrant Officer U.S. Army Ret. (W4), age 70, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday morning August 16, 1999 at his home. Lee was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. A veteran of the Korean Conflict serving active duty with Company B in Lenoir City. He later served with the 190 AIB 30th Army Division, 509th Tank Battalion, the 278th Air Troop and the Medical Company. Lee retired from the 278th Chemical Co. in Oak Ridge. Harold Lee Jellicorse (age 91) of Franklin, TN, passed away at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin on 17 August 1999. born on 24 August 1908 in Cookeville, TN, Mr. Jellicorse was the son of Charles Edward Jellicorse,originally of Birmingham, England, and Catherine Clark Jellicorse of Elmwood, TN. Mr. Jellicorse attended the Webb School and the University of Tennessee. He was long employed as an engineer by the Tennessee Valley Authority and a resident of Knoxville, TN, where he livedwith his first wife, Kathleen Nickels Jellicorse, who died in 1975. Mr. Jellicorse was a pioneer of electronic communications, holding one of the earliest FCC First-Class Radio Engineering licenses, engineering for early radio stations, and publishing original radio circuit designs. He was a member of the TVA Engineering Club and active in Presbyterian congregations in Knoxville, TN, Fort Myers, FL, and Chattanooga, TN, including teaching Sunday School and serving as a deacon. He is survived by his beloved wife Mildred Ingram Jellicorse of the home, son John lee Jellicorse and daughter-in-law Delayna Jordan Jellicorse of Greensboro, NC; daughter Ann Peterson Duncan and son-in-law William E. She had been active in The Merrymakers, Mary-Martha Sunday School Class, WMU, and Ladies Prayer Group before moving to Tennessee in February, 1994. Tunnacliffe, James J., age 67, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee, formerly of Ottawa Illinois and Parma Heights Ohio, passed away Monday evening August 23, 1999 at his home. Jim was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict in Okinawa and Korea. A Member of Loudon VFW Post 5150 and American Legion 120. A life member of the Elks in Cleveland Ohio. Jim was a marketing representative for Sun Oil Company for 25 years. Educated in Ottawa, he graduated from Marquette High School. Preceded in death by parents, James and Clara Hoffman Tunnacliffe. He was married in November of 1955 to Barbara Fitzgerald and is survived by: his wife; children, John Tunnacliffe and wife Susan of West Windsor New Jersey, Julie Feldmann and husband Joel of Summit New Jersey, Charles Tunnacliffe and wife Debbie of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda and Aimee Tunnacliffe, Sarah and Ashley Feldmann, Sam and Matt Tunnacliffe; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Donald Underhill of Hot Springs, Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Mary Tunnacliffe of Ottawa, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; A mass of the resurrection will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Father Steve LaPrad officiating. Hunter, Rosa Nell Letsinger Hunter, age 97, of Logan West Virginia passed away Wednesday morning August 25, 1999 in Muskogee Oklahoma. Rosa was born February 22, 1902 in Meigs County Tennessee to Rev. Henry and Susan Tilly Hawk. She was a retired Logan County school teacher and a member of Bruce McDonald Untied Methodist Church where she was organist and choir director. A charter member and past president of the WSCS and a charter member and past president of the Tridelphia Woman Club. She was preceded in death by husbands Claude J. Letsinger in 1946 and John Hunter in 1967. Sons, Claude I. (Buddy) Letsinger and James M. Hunter. Sister, Alda R. Jones; brother, Fred J. Hawk; survivors: children and spouses, Alda Rose Letsinger Steadman and husband Edward of Wagoner Oklahoma, Mary Beth Letsinger Terry and husband Cecil of Menlo Park California; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Ruth Letsinger of Titusville Florida, Mary Sue Hunter of Lexington Kentucky; several nieces and nephews. VanWagnen, Margaret (Peg), age 87, of NHC Cavett Hill in Farragut, Tennessee, formerly of Detroit Michigan, passed away Saturday evening August 28, 1999 at Park West Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Margaret was born in Chicago Illinois September 14, 1911. She was a graduate of Michigan State Norman College and attended the University of Michigan. She was a Phys Ed teacher at Northeastern and Denby High Schools in Detroit for many years. Peg was preceded in death by her husband, E.H. VanWagnen who headed the Generals Motors Overseas Division in Detroit for many years. Paul, Dorothy H., age 73, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon Tennessee, formerly of Milford Conn., passed away Friday morning August 27, 1999 at Park West Hospital in Knoxville TN . She was a registered nurse and a 1947 graduate of Vassar Brothers Hospital Nursing School in Poughkeepsie. During World War II she served in the Cadet Nurses Corp and was a member of the Alumni Association of the nursing school. She is a former Director of Nursing at Milford Hospital in Milford Conn.
