Wilkerson, Dora Lee Lafevers, age 95, of the Garden Apartments, Loudon, passed away Saturday morning August 28, 1999 at Loudon Hospital. Dora was born January 15, 1904 in Cherokee N.C. to William and Gussie Lafevers. She grew up and attended school in Ranger N.C. She later met and married the late Roy M. Wilkerson Sr. and they made their home in Lenoir City until recent years. Dora was a Christian and attended First Baptist Church of Lenoir City until her later years. She enjoyed the T.V. church services of New Life Family Worship Center of Loudon. Dora was preceded in death by her husband ; her parents; and a brother, Theodore (Pete) Lafevers; survivors: daughter, Glennis Lee Wilkerson with whom she made her home; adopted son whom she raised, David Randle of Loudon; Dora will be sadly missed by the Wilkerson Family, the Lawson Family and the Robison Family, as well as her telephone friends. Funeral services 11 A.M. Monday Hawkins Chapel Rev. Jeff Schrimsher officiating. Interment Loudon County Memorial Gardens. Pall bearers, Claude Robison, Tyler Lawson, Roy Gene Wilkerson, T.J. Faulkner, Rev. Paul E., age 71, of 610 West Fifth Avenue Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning August 29, 1999 at his home. Paul was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, Avery Lodge 593 F&AM, Scottish Rite bodies and a 32 degree mason. A minister for over 40 years serving as pastor at Stoney Point Baptist Church and Gospel Light Baptist Church. A veteran of World War II serving with the army. Retired from White Stores. He was preceded in death by father Birchell Faulker; sisters, Delores Faulkner Underwood and Barbara Faulkner Light; survivors: wife, Barbara Key Faulkner; children and spouses, Rev. Niesley, Dixie Stidham, age 71, of Lenoir City, passed away early Tuesday morning August 31, 1999 at Loudon Hospital. Dixie was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by husband, George Stidham. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lindley Maples Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lucy Dawn; sisters, Mae Dawn, Lois Dawn and Harriett Hart; brothers, Curtis Dawn, James Dawn and Grant Dawn. Farrar, Laura Elizabeth (Beth), age 89, of Lenoir City, TN formerly of Shelbyville, TN passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at Baptist Health Care Center. Beth was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville. She and her husband owned and operated Farrar's Hosiery Store on the square from 1937-1982. She was a member of D.A.R. and active in the P.T.O. Preceded in death by husband, E.W. "Duck" Farrar. Moore, Eva Brewer, age 79, a lifelong resident of Greer SC, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 5, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Knoxville, TN. Eva was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Earle Moore; daughter, Mildred Moore Jackson; parents, John and Essie Eades Brewer; brother, J. B. Brewer; sisters, Mary Lou Brewer and Louise Westmoreland. Harris, Ruth Smith age 88, of Farragut, passed away on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, CA. born in Farragut in 1914, Ruth was a graduate of Farragut High School and Knoxville Business College. She was employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority from 1939 to 1975 concluding as executive branch secretary for the Maps and Surveys Branch in Chattanooga. She was a life-long member of Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Farragut and a charter member of Fox Den Country Club. She was also a member of the Brainerd Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. Ruth was preceded in death by husband, Orville Harris; parents, Spencer R. and Annie Boring Smith; brothers, Edward and Russell Smith; sisters, Frances Johnson and Elma Cruse. Hawkins, Joyce Madeline, age 85, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2002, at Loudon Health Care Center. Joyce attended Lincoln Memorial University and taught school for several years at Eatons School before marrying James Harvey Hawkins in 1938. They were founders of Hawkins Funeral Homes in Lenoir City and Loudon and were married for 57 years before his death in 1995. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church for 63 years, and a member of Virginia Breazeale's Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, James M. Hair Sr. and Florence Irene (Dollie) Hair; brother, Gene C. Hair and James M. Hair Jr. Survivors include daughters, Carol Ann Taylor and husband Terry of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Beth Watt of Lenoir City; sons James H. Cooper, Gary Kenneth, age 44, of West Knoxville, passed away suddenly Monday evening September 9, 2002. Gary was of the Baptist faith. He was a Home Improvement Sub-Contractor. He had a keen sense of humor and never met a stranger. Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Marie Neeley Cooper. Survivors: daughters, Stephanie and Jessica; several grandchildren; father and step mother, Floyd and Pauline Cooper of Knoxville; brothers, Carl Cooper and Michael Cooper both of Knoxville, Danny Cooper of Union County; sisters, Phyllis Smith of Chattanooga, Becky and Missy both of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Heilman, Cathy, age 59, of Tellico Village Community, Loudon formerly of Conyers, Ga. passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002 in Knoxville. Cathy was a member St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. She was a community volunteer in Conyers. Survived by husband of 35 years, Ed Heilman; children, Chad and Kate. Kelley, Bernice Rose Flanagan, age 79, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, September 13, 2002 at the Ft. Sanders Loudon Medical Center. Bernice was a devoted Christian. She was retired from the Knox Co. School System. Preceded in death by husbands, Archie Kelley and Theodore Dennis; son, Theodore Dennis Jr.; parents, Wiley Burton and Nina Pearl Hobbs Flanagan; and brother, Glenn Flanagan. Hamilton, Judy Faye Donovan, age 58, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord Thursday evening September 12, 2002, at Park West Hospital. Judy was a member of West Park Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Many sought her out as a consoler and counselor over the years. She was loved and will be missed by all. Vesta was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron McDaniel; parents, John and Nannie Duncan; brothers: Anderson, Dallas, Barney and Otis Duncan; sisters, Elsie Nelson and Lillian McNabb. She is survived by her children: Rev. Duncan, Georgia Ann (Jo), age 68, of Dillwyn, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 at her daughters home in Tennessee after a lengthy illness. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her loving husband, H. C. (Jack) Duncan; and brother, Frank Wren. Survived by her sister, Evelyn Pex and husband, Dick of Klammoth Falls, Oregon; children: Robin Duncan Moreland and husband, Terry of Lenoir City, Mike Duncan and wife, Teresa of Phoenix, Arizona, Andrew Duncan and wife, Carol of Dillwyn, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive freinds from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dunkum Funeral Home in Dillwyn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Dunkum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will proceed to the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery for graveside services and interment.

Fletcher, Mary Warren of Holly Ridge, N.C. formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, September 13, 2002 at her home. She was born November 25, 1929 in Knoxville, daughter of the late Ray McFee Warren and Jamie Claiborne Warren. Two brothers, Ray M. Warren and Don Warren, preceded her in death. Mrs. Fletcher was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church in Holly Ridge. She was part owner and operator, along with her husband, of Continental Coast Trucking Company. She was also a member and past president of the Pilot Club. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles William "Bill" Fletcher; children, Mary Alice "Susie" Strunk and husband, Sandy of Lenoir City, Charles William "Sonny" Fletcher and wife, Brenda Sue of Loudon; brother, Walter Warren of Knoxville, sister, Polly Edgemon of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; six grandchildren, Wendy Fletcher-Hardee and husband, Michael of Hampstead, N.C., Allison Strunk of Lake City, Greta Bailey and husband, Shane, Carrie Alexander and husband, Chris, Cory Fletcher and wife, Tanya all of Lenoir City, Sandy Strunk of Dover, DE; seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville. Morgan, Gillis Lee Sr., age 81, of Lenoir City, went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday, September 17, 2002 after a long battle with heart trouble. Gillis was born March 5, 1921 in Coalfield, Tennessee to William (Bill) and Maggie Hacker Morgan. He was a combat veteran serving in the Army in the South Pacific in W. W. II. On December 21, 1944, he almost lost his life when a Japanese Kamikaze plane hit the LST 460 ship he was fighting on. He was a born again Christian and a former member of the Church of God in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gillis was baptized in the Ohio River in 1960, was an active member in his church where he drove the church bus and he and his wife conducted evening children's church. Gillis retired from Industrial Personnel in Hamilton, Ohio with 30 years service in the Teamster Union and is a member of the Teamster Retiree Club Local 100 in Cincinnati. He moved to Lenoir City after having his first heart attack in 1984. He was a member of Mid Town Church of God in Roane Co. Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, three brothers; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milas and Mary Ray of Oneida. Survived by his wife, Margery Ray Morgan whom he married on Easter Sunday, April 25, 1943; children, Karen Papania and husband, Joe of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gillis Morgan Jr. and wife, Joy Amos Morgan of Lenoir City, and Judy Mattus and husband, John of Vancouver, Washington; grandchildren, Joe Papania and wife, Martha of Cincinnati, Ohio, Krista Papania of Dallas, Texas and Billy Lambert of Vancouver, Washington; great grandchild, Christopher Papania of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Ruth Huckeby and husband, John of Vermilion, Ohio; special great niece, Mendy Cates of Rockwood; several other nieces and nephews; special Army buddy, William Grover of Marietta, Georgia. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Martyn of Knoxville, Dr. Ramani Reddy of Lenoir City and Covenant Home Health Care for all they did for Gillis, it is deeply appreciated. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Friday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Taylor officiating. Arden, Norman J. Sr., age 67, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2002 at the Park West Hospital. He was preceded in death by parents, J. T. and Bessie Mae Ratledge Arden. Survived by son, Norman J. Arden Jr. and wife, Crystal of Loudon; daughter, Pamela Denise Baker and husband, Andy of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Britteny Nicole Arden, Christopher Worley, Cayla Lauren Arden, Cayci A. Lattimore, Matthew Nowlin and Tabatha Nowlin; sister, Wanda Munsey and husband, Herbert; nephew, Mark Munsey of Lenoir City. Tallent, Robert I. (Bob), age 83, of Sweetwater formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, September 20, 2002 at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Army. Bob was a member of Howards Chapel Baptist Church. He was a longtime dairy farmer in Monroe and Loudon Co. Preceded in death by wife, Garnet Tallent; parents, Jim and Louie Tallent; sister, Jane Tallent Giles, brothers, Burl Tallent, Otis Tallent, Tom Tallent and Boone Tallent. Survived by brother, Virgil Tallent of Vonore; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Sunday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gale Miller officiating. Helton, Helen Louise Fritts, age 78, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, September 22, 2002 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a treasured wife, mother and sister. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Helton; parents, Mark Fritts and Elsie Mae Fritts Thacker. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Jean Helton Fornshell and husband, John of Charlotte, N.C.; grandsons, William Todd Fornshell and wife, Kimberley of Largo, Fl. and Charles Bryan Fornshell and wife, Nicole of Miamisburg, Oh.; great grandchildren: Ashley Lynn, Brice Nicholas, Brady Cameron and Courtney Marie; brother, Jack B. Frittz and wife, Marjorie of Chuckey, TN, sister, Ruby Fritts Kennedy of Knoxville brother, Gene Frittz of Ft. Worth, Tx. and half sister, Patsy Goodman of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews along with her beloved pet, Miss Daisy The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.
