Dimitroff, Diane Lynn (Dee), age 51, of Knoxville, formerly of Michigan, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at her home. Dee was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and was active in the choir. She enjoyed decorating, singing, and antiquing. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Christine Stublensky. Survivors: daughter, Amanda Burgess-Proctor, husband, Bryan, and granddaughter, Anna Grace Proctor all of Royal Oak, MI; daughter, Megan Burgess of Ferndale, MI; father of her children, Alan Burgess of South Lyon, MI; brother, Phillip Stublensky of Davison, MI; several nieces and nephews and their children; and her beloved pet, Taz. Tuck, Thomas L. Jr., age 78, of Lenoir City, passed away 11:31 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was a trustee. He retired after 48 years from Oak Ridge National Laboratory X-10 where he was an x-ray technician. Tommy was a demolitions expert with the United States Army Paratroopers serving in W. W. II. He was also a member of Loudon County Beautification Board. Preceded in death by mother and father, Gladys and Thomas Leon Tuck Sr.; brother, Henry Tuck. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Nelle B. Tuck; son, John T. Tuck and wife, Jamie of Lenoir City; brother, Jimmy L. Tuck of Ocala, Fl ;sisters: Peggy Arthur, Joyce Huskey, Shirley Geer, JoAnn Laughlin, Alyce Ledbetter, and Pat Bowden all of Lenoir City; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Allen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Summitt, Joseph Oscar - age 80, formerly of Farragut, Tennessee, died March 14, 2005, at home in Mountain View, Arkansas. He was born June 21, 1924, to the later Luther L. Summitt and Mary Florence Summitt of Lenoir City, TN. A veteran of WWII, he served with the Naval Air Corp, Liberator Search-Patrol in the Pacific War Area. For meritorious services, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and multiple awards. He was retired from Robertshaw-Fultons in Knoxville, TN after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Vivian Barron Summitt in 2004, and one sister, Ernestine Denton of Lenoir City, TN. He is survived by sisters, Mary S. Flatt of Cookeville, TN, Jaccie Stevens and husband, Ret. Col. Philip Stevens of Topsail Beach, N.C.; son, Sid C. Summitt and wife, Iris of Flowery Branch, GA; daughter, Sally Jo Summitt of Mountain View, Ark; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Known to many in Mountain View as “Papa Joe”, he truly enjoyed the spontaneous gatherings of musicians on the courthouse square. He was a good, loving, son, brother, husband, father and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed. Smithey, Robert Hays, age 78, of Etowah, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the home of his son. Bob was a member of Englewood Church of God. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy and a lifetime member of the VFW. The former owner of Bob’s Texaco and Auto Repair in Etowah. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Smithey along with his parents and brothers. Brown, Florence Elizabeth, age 82, of Knoxville, formerly of Chatham Township, NJ, passed away Saturday evening, April 9, 2005 in Knoxville. Florence was born on October 7, 1922 in Atlanta, GA to Rufus Edward Brown and Julia Crowe Brown Garlock who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Mercer Brown. She is sadly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Ellen Brown and William R. Kennedy, Sergeant First Class Stephen Curtis - of Oak Ridge . Stephen was born April 6, 1969 in Jacksonville Beach, FL. He passed away April 4, 2005 while serving with the Army National Guard’s D Battery,First Squadron, 278th Regimental Combat Team in Iraq. Stephen served as the Training NCO for his unit. He was also a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Cub Scout leader and Little League baseball coach. Preceded in death by his daughter, Megan. Fero,Lester Kniffen, 86, of Loudon, TN, departed this life in his home, April 15, 2005. He was a trustee of the Board of the Tellico Community Church. Preceded in death by his parents Ray and Bertha (Kniffen) Fero, his sister Frances Johnson, his wife Margery Geraldine Fero and their son, Gregory Glen Fero. He is survived by his wife Irene Trent Fero, and his daughter Leslie K. Fero. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Mark and Cindy Fero, Eric Bjerk, Shannon Fero Jason and Angie Bjerk and Jennifer and Jayson Crandall, and by his stepdaughters Patti Wilde and Jennifer Morgan and her husband David. Mr. Fero is also survived by his sisters Wilma Johnson, Alice Stoll, and Shirley (John) Stanton; and his brother George (Vonda) Fero. Lester graduated from the University of Michigan and retired from NASA headquarters in Washington DC, having served with the Executive Office of the President, and spent his lifetime pursuing his passion for aviation, aerospace design, and manned space travel. In recognition of his contribution to national aviation and space exploration, his name was added to Wall of Honor in the National Air and Space Museum. A memorial service to celebrate his life is being held at Tellico Community Church on Monday, April 18 at 1:00 pm. Michael was recuperating from surgery and the cause of his death has not yet been determined. Michael was a graduate of Farragut High School and attended Pellissippi State College. He was a true lover of music. Michael played the guitar and wrote his own music and lyrics, some of which have been published. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Marie Neeley Cooper; brother, Gary Kenneth Cooper. He is dearly mourned by his wife, Linda Cooper; children, Tatum, Austin and Amanda; father and step mother, Floyd and Pauline Cooper of Knoxville; siblings, Carl Cooper of Knoxville, Danny Cooper of Union County, Phyllis Smith of Chattanooga, Becky and Missy both of Knoxville; nieces and nephews, Roger and Rodney Smith, Carl Ray Cooper, Kelly and Rebecca McCarter, Amy Minus, Zackary and Zane Cooper, Willie Hall, Cherish and Steven Hammock, Jessie and Stephanie Cooper. He will always be loved and missed. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Milton, Robert Thompson, age 83, of Rutledge, AL, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 19, 2005 at his daughter, Susie's home, in Farragut, TN. Thompson was of the Baptist faith. He was a 50 year plus member of Black Rock Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Army. Thompson was a long time cattleman and an award winning chicken farmer until his health declined in 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Milton in 2000; brother, Dempsey; sister, Sarah Frances Lawson. Survivors: loving daughters and sons-in-law, Joy L. and Curtis Phillips of Orlando, FL, Susie and Rich Cataldi of Farragut; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Charles Milton of Greenville, AL and a son in Wetumpka, AL. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Turner's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Siloam Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Leverett officiating. Looper, J. B., age 83, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005, at Park West Hospital. He was born in Rockwood and grew up in Knoxville. J. B. attended Harrison Chilhowee Academy and the University of Tennessee. He was a veteran of W. W. II and Korean War serving with the U. S. Marine Corps. MABS-I. A member of Everett Road Baptist Church. He was an avid Vol Fan and had attended games since 1938. J.B. was an entrepreneur, he was involved in multiple businesses throughout his life, including J. B. ‘s Country Store on Highway 321. Preceded in death by parents, Lillie and Tom Looper; first wife, Betty Looper; brothers, Herman and Stanley Looper. Survived by wife, Julia Looper; son, Jim Looper and wife, Ann; granddaughter, Jessica Verran; her mother, Sherida Simmons; stepson, Steve Verran and wife, Wendy; special cousin, John Appman. Aumack, Gloria A., age 83, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Haddon Heights, NJ, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, April 21, 2005 at Baptist Hospital West. Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church Concord and an active member of her Sunday School Class. She was listed among South Jersey Cooks and taught cooking classes. Gloria was a volunteer for Juvenile Diabetes. She was dedicated to her family. Gloria was an employee of the Fresh Market until her retirement in 2004. Survivors: husband of 58 years, Ralph Frank Aumack; daughters, Kathy Anderson of Farragut and Gloriajean Schaible of Lancaster, PA; granddaughters, Kathy-Jean Nikolaus, Debbie Hammer both of PA, Ginger Anderson and Joelle Baumgartner both of NC; 3great granddaughters and 1 great grandson; brother, Charles Aceto of FL. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Mark Blair officiating.
