James Russell (Russ) Ellis, age 57, of Loudon, TN, passed away suddenly April 20, 2007. Russ was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church in Lenoir City. He was retired from Bellsouth. Russ was very active with the Tennessee Campers on Mission and The Loudon County Air Quality Task Force. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cheri Ellis; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Brian Kryger of Travelers Rest, SC, and Heather and Jim McClanahan of Friendsville, TN; six grandchildren: Alyssa, Shannon, Matthew, Emily, Rebecca and a granddaughter on the way; mother, Helen Ellis of Melbourne, FL; brothers, Ken Ellis of Melbourne and Robert Ellis and wife, Cheryl of Vero Beach, FL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brent and Leta Ostrander of Loudon along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday at Dixie Lee Baptist Church with Pastor James Clayton officiating. Audrey Riddle (Be) John, age 91, left his earthly life peacefully in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Mickey Yerger of Lenoir City on April 21, 2007. Mrs. John was preceded in death by daughter, Gloria Riddle John. She is survived by another daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ray Berry of Geismar, LA. She also leaves behind grandchildren and great grandchildren who remember her with love: Shawn Yerger of West Knoxville, Chris and Zarah Yerger, and children, Molly and Michael of Knoxville, Scott and Lisa Berry and children, Peyton, Gloria, Matthew and Auburn of Plano, TX, Will and Doris Berry and children, Reed and Dylan of Geismar, LA. Mrs. John graduated from Louisiana State University, married the late Mike John Jr. and moved to Monroe, LA where they made their home. Mrs. John taught school there for many years. While living in Lenoir City, she regularly attended Central United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA on Thursday, April 26 with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Michael J. Rogers, age 47, of Farragut, loving husband, son and brother, passed from this life suddenly Friday, April 20, 2007. Michael was born in Castro Valley, CA on November 20, 1959. He struggled all his life with heart trouble but had the will and determination to live life to the fullest. Michael is survived by his wife, Lynne; parents, Bob and Judy Rogers of Farragut; sisters, Cindy Jones of Rochester, NY, Jenny Pruitt and husband John of High Springs, FL; grandmother, Bonnie Hewitt; aunt, Debbie Stine both of Raleigh, NC; nieces, Mandy and Monica Jones; nephews, Jonathan and Joseph Pruitt. Michael also leaves behind many friends, who loved him and will sadly miss him. James Douglas Wade Sr., age 75, of Lenoir City, formerly of Nashville, passed away suddenly Monday, April 23, 2007. Jim was retired from Commerce Union Bank where he worked in security. He served in the U. S. Navy in World War II. Jim was a member of Lenoir City Church of Christ. He loved life, being out West and his hobby was trains. Jim was preceded in death by parents, James H. and Vernell Wade. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Helen H. Wade; sons, James Douglas Wade Jr. and wife, Mary of Smyrna, TN, Allen Curtis Wade of Bradyville, TN and Alvin Lewis Wade and wife, Susie of Cross Plains, TN; stepchildren, Donna Edmonds and husband, Carl of Knoxville and Michael Otis Yates of TX; several grandchildren. Ella is survived by children, Carolyn Landers of Stickney, IL, Ricky Gilman and Edward Gilman both of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Christy Michelle Holic, John Allen Sailliez and Justin Lee Gilman; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Homer Manns, Jackie Manns both of West Virginia and Donald E. Virginia Grace "Gracie" Carroll, age 50, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday morning, April 26, 2007. Gracie was a loving sister and devoted friend. Patricia Rogers Voorhis, age 60, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN formerly of Birmingham, MI passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at her home. She was a member of Tellico Village Community Church. Originally from Middletown, Ohio she attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Patricia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by father, Robert Rogers and mother, Barbara Pennington. Survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald Voorhis; daughters, Jenny Mitchell and husband, Jordan of Kirkland, Washington, Sarah Fraley and husband, Kevin of Milan, Michigan; grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph, Hunter and Miranda; brother, Robert Rogers and wife, Mary Ann of Knoxville; niece, Erin Rogers of Knoxville and step mother, Sally Rogers of Knoxville. Karl Alfred Seger III, age 62, died Sunday, April 29. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church. He was born April 24, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA to Karl A. Seger II and Audrey Seger. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. At 18 he joined the U.S. Army and later completed Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. At the time he was the second youngest person ever to graduate from OCS. He was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. Karl received his bachelor's and master's degrees in experimental psychology at Florida Atlantic University. He was in the honorary society, Phi Kappa Phi, at Florida Atlantic. He received his PhD in organizational psychology at the University of Tennessee. In 1973 he founded Seger Consulting Group. He was an author, instructor, and consultant in the area of security, specializing in the utility industry as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence. He published several books in the areas of power theft, anti-terrorism, and computer crime. His expertise in these areas was sought internationally. A saxophone player since his teens and avid jazz fan, he previously served on the board of the Knoxville Jazz Society. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Suzanne M. Seger; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jen Seger and their children, Girault, Alden, and Harley Seger of Franklin, TN, son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathi Seger of Knoxville; mother, Audrey Trobe of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; brother, Phillip Seger of Windom, TX; sister, Susan Iaria of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sisters-in-law, Jean Miller of Lenoir City and Lynn Tanner of Framingham, MA; several nieces and nephews. She loved cooking, canning, sewing, quilting, singing, gardening, flowers, roses, playing "rummy" and working puzzles with her children and grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter, Portia Wallen; parents, Gladys and Jake Derrick; sister, Nancy Derrick Seamens. Marie Veldia Bray Perciful Powell, age 88, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in Milford, Ohio. Marie was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved children, especially little ones and operated a day care out of her home. Marie was preceded in death by husbands, William Oscar Perciful and Luther Powell; mother, Lily Mounce Bray; father, Christopher Columbus Bray; sisters, Della Barringer and Leona Lamb; brothers, James Bray and Reuben Bray; foster child, Benny Wooliver. She is survived by her foster children, Bobbye Girvin, Tommy Miller, Vivian Glover and David Hobby; grandchildren, Leigh Beckman and Diana Meyer; great grandchildren, Kori Beckman and Seth Beckman. Clemmer, Vester Lee, age 94, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Farragut Health Care Center. Vester was known by friends and family as "Jack." He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and served many years as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of IBEW Local 318 and was retired from Southern Railway in Lenoir City. Preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Vola Irene Quillen Clemmer. He was the last survivor in the immediate family of William Alexander and Callie Naomi Isabel Clemmer. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Kerley and Myrtle Webb and brothers, Hulet, Hubert and Ewell Clemmer. McDaniel, Wynona Soward (Nelle), age 85, a lifelong resident of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, August 3, 2003, at the Baptist Health Care Center. Nelle was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City and was a past member of the American Legion Auxillary. She worked at Oak Ridge during the years the atomic bomb was being developed. She later enjoyed being a loving wife, mother and grandmother and godmother to 2 ½ year old twins, Autumn and Summer Davis. Preceded in death by her husband, Green McDaniel along with her parents, eight sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Watkins and husband, Bill of Lenoir City; son, David McDaniel and wife, Gaynelle of St. Marys, West Virginia; granddaughters: Amy Watkins Harrison and husband, Andy of Lenoir City, Bryna McDaniel of St. Marys, West Virginia and Stacy McDaniel of Charleston, South Carolina; sweet friends, Mickey Durall and Laurie Davis; several nieces and nephews. Macular, Claud Massel (Mac), age 79, of Knoxville, formerly of the San Francisco Bay area passed away Monday morning, August 4, 2003, at Baptist Hospital West in Knoxville, TN. Claud was born on August 27, 1923 to Jessie and Ruby McCullar in El Dorado, AR. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp during WWII serving as a flight engineer on B-24's in the South Pacific. Claud was an engineering manager associated with power plant piping design and construction for the Bechtel Group of San Francisco for 33 years. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Sequoyah Country Club in Oakland, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) McCullar, parents, and brother, Woodrow McCullar. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dave DuRegger of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Robert DuRegger, and Amy DuRegger of Knoxville, and Jason DuRegger and wife, Barbara and their daughter Megan of Charleston, SC; brother and wife, Donald and Merle McCullar of Village Mills, TX, sister-in-law, Imogene McCullar of Shreveport, LA, and several special nieces and nephews and cousins. Denton, Michael Davis age 54, of Lenoir City, currently residing in Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2003. Mike was born February 2, 1949. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Mike was a true Patriot and proudly served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harley and Alberta Davis, Tom and Ada Denton of Lenoir City. Whittington, Janice Maynard, age 61, of Strawberry Plains, and more recently of Dallas, TX, passed away quietly Monday afternoon, August 11, 2003, at her mother's home after a short battle with cancer. Jan was a lifetime member of Trentville United Methodist Church. She was a Flight Attendant for American Airlines and still active after 35 years. Jan graduated from Carter High School and from the University of Tennessee with a BA degree in 1963. She was preceded in death by her father, W. H. (Bill) Maynard. Survivors: husband of 26 years, Ed Whittington of Dallas, TX; mother, Dorothy Hines Maynard of Knoxville; twin brother, Steve Maynard of Knoxville; sister, Linda Pedersen of Trumbull, CT; God sons and nephews, Darren and Derek Pedersen both of San Diego, CA; nephew, Brad Maynard of Knoxville; niece, Stephanie Buckner of Destin, FL; step daughters, Saundra and Cindy Whittington of Dallas, TX. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday followed by funeral services at 7:30 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut with Rev. Steven Evans and Rev. Bobby Lockwood officiating. Cranfill, Verda, age 88, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, August 11, 2003 at the Brian Nursing Home in Canton, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Cranfill and son, Kenneth Brooks. Verda was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Louise Brooks of Canton, Ga.; grandchildren, Connie Mann of Gainsville, Ga., Renee Seabolt of Ellijay, Ga., Tammie Knight of Cumming, Ga. and Kenneth A. Brooks of Tipton, Ind.; 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grace Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Joe Lynn officiating. Perkins, Alan Robert, age 51, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at his home. Alan was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, nature photography, and amateur radio. Alan was born in Hanover, NH and was raised in Alexandria, VA. After graduating from Virginia Tech, he took a job with TVA as a civil engineer and moved to Knoxville, where he and his wife raised their family. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Perkins. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Perkins; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Kevin Johnson; son, Brent Perkins; grandson, Hunter Johnson; mother, Barbara Perkins, all of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law Scott and Cyndi Perkins of Colonial Heights, VA; nephew and niece, Ryan and Erin Perkins of Colonial Heights, VA; uncle, Robert Bates of Sunapee, NH; aunt, Eureka Charlton of Englewood, FL; and many wonderful cousins in New Hampshire and Vermont. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Thursday at Concord United Methodist Church with a Celebration of Life to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Bill Kilday and Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens for graveside services. Allen, Wayne Edgar (Captain), age 66, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, August 13, 2003 at Park West Hospital. Captain Wayne was a member of Our Father's House Church. He was retired from American Ecology in Oak Ridge. A member of the OCAW. Captain Wayne was a member of the VOL Navy and loved to play his keyboard and was the wake up call on game day. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his son, James Paul Allen; parents, Lillian and Paul Allen. Survivors: wife, Bea Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Chris Mann; son and daughter-in-law, David Eugene and Chanda Brown all of Knoxville; grandchildren, James Allen Brown, Justin Todd Oakes, Joshua Christopher Mann, Heather Michelle Mann, Braxton Wayne Mann, Jordan Clay Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Ralph Buck of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Betty Allen of Bethesda, MD; special loving friend, Sally Allen of Miami, FL. The family will receive friends from 2-2:45 p.m. Saturday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Michael Sexton officiating. Barron, Robert Eugene, age 43, of Concord, passed away Friday afternoon, August 15, 2003 at Park West Hospital after a long struggle with liver disease. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Barron. Survivors: mother, Mary Elizabeth Shields Barron; brother and sister-in-law, David and Rhonda Barron of Houston, TX; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
