Nolly, Jon’ Austin and Amelia Jean, born August 11, 2005 and passed away August 11, 2005. Sweet Little Angels went home to be with the Lord and grandparents, Austin and angel in herself, Betty Jean Goley, John and Agnes Nolly. Scarbrough, William Marshall (Bill), age 64, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2005 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. A former employee of Sheffield Steel and truck driver for Ryder Trucks. Bill was preceded in death by parents, William and Nora Black Scarbrough. Survived by his wife, Johnnie Ann Bivens Scarbrough; sons, Bill Scarbrough and wife, Kim, John Scarbrough and wife, Kim all of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Dale Patrick Scarbrough and Rebecca Rose Scarbrough; brothers, Bob Scarbrough of Lenoir City, Clarence Scarbrough of Loudon, Ray Scarbrough of Lenoir City, Carl Scarbrough of Loudon; sister, Edith Ann of Newport; several nieces and nephews. Thompson, James Lincoln Jr., age 81, of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Sunday morning, August 21, 2005. James L. was a longtime member of Silver Ridge Baptist Church in Lenoir City and a pillar of the community. He was a honorable veteran of the U. S. Army. He was retired from the Lenoir City Street Dept. Preceded in death by parents, James L. and Alma Emert Thompson Sr.; brother, Fayette Thompson; sisters, Geneva Shaw and Imogene Ballard. Survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara Dealia Miller Thompson; daughters and sons-in-law, June and Roy Hattley Sr., Judy and Bob Crass all of Lenoir City; son, Eddie Thompson and fiancee’, Pamela Pearce and her daughter, Lacee of Knoxville; grandchildren, Roy and Jennifer Hattley of Rome, GA, Kevin Hattley of Cookeville, Buddy Crass and girlfriend, Keri Lowe of Jonesborough, Hannah and Tim Barringer of Lenoir City, Thomas and Natalie Crass of Knoxville, Rachael Thompson of Knoxville and Kali of Maryville; great grandchildren, Timmy, Michaela and Chandler Barringer and Alexis Crass; brother-in-law, Fred Shaw of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Hunley, John Conley, age 34, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 21, 2005. John was a devoted husband and father. Rush, Paul James Sr., age 66, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Park West Hospital. Paul was a Christian. He was owner of Rush & Son, Inc. Sloan, Margaret Rapking (Peggy), age 63, of West Knoxville, formerly of Madisonville, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, August 23, 2005 as a result of an automobile accident. Peggy was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church. She was an employee of Lewis, King, et al Attorneys at Law and was formerly a secretary for Senator Howard Baker. Magill, John Sampson (Buck), age 89, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at his home. He was a retired welder from the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge. Buck served in the U. S. Army with the Ninth Infantry Division during W. W. II. He was a member Paw Paw Plains Baptist Church and the American Legion. Preceded in death by wife, Velmadean Baker Magill and son, Charles Magill. Survived by his children, Frava Limburg and husband, Benny, Devera Howard and husband, Steve and John Magill; grandchildren, Stan Limburg and wife, Joy, Ariana Magill and Mercedes Magill. Gibbs, Girlie Mae Napier, age 78, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. A graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. Girlie was a retired school teacher with 30 years service in the Oak Ridge School System. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Preceded in death by two weeks, her husband of 57 years, William D. Gibbs. Survived by her brother-in-law, Jack Gibbs and wife, Joyce of Spring Hill, FL; 2 nephews and 1 niece. Keck, Trula Lay, age 82, of Knoxville went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2005 at her home. Trula was a member of Grassy Valley Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Palm Beach and later in life operated Aud's Camp, along with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Keck; grandson, Jason David Keck; son-in-law, Jackie Tilley; parents, Elbert and Martha Lay; brothers, J B and Charles Lay. Wallace, Nancy D., age 68, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005, at Park West Medical Center. She was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church. Nancy was formerly active with Stephen Ministry at Concord United Methodist Church and was church organist for Ebenezer and St. Mark’s United Methodist Churches. Nancy was retired from Whirlpool and had worked as a purchasing agent for Carborundum. She received her certified teaching degree in music education from the University of Tennessee. Preceded in death by husband, James Defriece Wallace, Sr.; parents, Haskett and Alice Duncan. Survived by her children, Jim Wallace and wife, Lenora of Gallatin, TN, Patricia Wilson and husband, Chuck of Flintstone, GA, J. D. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Guinn, for whom she was a care taker for many years; son, John Paul Guinn; father, Paul Watt Swan. Survivors: mother, Mildred F. Williams, Lillian Fay, age 71, of Kingston, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at her home. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Retired from Y-12 after 47 years of service. Fay was involved in working with the Salvation Army. Preceded in death by parents, Aulcy and Rose Williams; sister, Helen Marcum and husband, David; brothers, Earl C. Williams, Roy A. Williams and Robert A. Williams. Survived by brother, Fred Williams and wife, Lois of Knoxville; sister, Evelyn Dyke and husband, Glen of Mascot; several nieces and nephews; many good friends including Blanch Harvey, Norma Jean Hensley and Dot Hensley. Cushman, George Thomas, age 90, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, TN, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005. George was born March 18, 1915, in Arlington, Massachusetts, to George and Helen Cushman. He was a graduate of Harvard College where he received his Masters Degree. George was drafted into the U.S. Army and assigned to the Panama Canal as a commanding general aide and later served as commanding officer of an interrogation team in Europe. He spent his career in education serving as Instructor of Romance Languages at Harvard and Head of the Spanish Department at Choate School in Wallingford, CT. He was President of the National Spanish Honor Society and had published two Spanish text books. After his retirement, he and his wife, Mary moved to Tellico Village in Tennessee and he became an active volunteer in local education in English as a second language for Spanish speaking students in Lenoir City. He served as Secretary- Treasurer of the Tellico Village Homeowner’s Assoc., Treasurer of Tellico Village Community Concerts and Loudon County Music Fund. He was a member of Tellico Village Community Church where he served on the Pastoral Committee and Mens Breakfast. A true renaissance person with a love of family, life and intellectual curiosity. He enjoyed music, opera and the symphony along with being an avid gardener, birder, sailor and sportsman. George was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ruth Kennedy and Barbara Justus. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Dr. Mary F. Bell Cushman; daughter, Dr. Priscilla Cushman and her husband, Dr. Roger Rusack and their sons, Eliot Petersen and Christopher Rusack of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Wendy Richmond and husband, David of Amenia, NY; brother, Chandler Cushman and wife, Maggie of Mesa, AZ; many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2005, at the Tellico Village Community Church with Rev. Martin Singley officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Christian Life Center. Private interment will be in the Tellico Village Church Columbarium. Cranfill, Vivian Esther Jacobson, age 67, of the Tellico Village Community, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005, at her home. Vivian was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who often dedicated herself to serving others. Vivian was born in Chicago, Ill in 1937 and was a graduate of Hirsch High School, Class of 1955. She was Den Mother for two lucky groups of Cub Scouts, was Parent Teacher Association President, Church leader and volunteer, and Construction Coordinator for handicapped access to her church in Northbrook, Illinois. In recent years, Vivian especially enjoyed her association with the Red Hat Society and her position as secretary and Co-Program Chair-person in the Tellico Village Chapter of the American Wine Society. She was an avid gardener and loved canning and freezing fruits and vegetables. She was active in TVCC craft activities, garage sales, library support, the genealogy club and loved all God’s creatures. As an active member of the Tellico Village Cancer Support group, she provided support via e-mail and telephone calls to friends in other states with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhold and Inez Jacobson. She is survived by her husband, Sidney M. Cranfill; children, Brian William Cranfill of New Berlin, WI and Bruce Sidney Cranfill of Troy, MI; grandchildren, Aaron, Alexander and Ryan; aunt, Helen Neideen and many loving cousins. A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September, 3, at the Tellico Village Community Church. A luncheon will follow in the Church Christian Life Center. Branum, Charles Richard Sr., age 85, of Kingston, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at his home. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Knoxville. A veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Navy. Charles was a member of the Knoxville VFW for 59 years and a member of the Eagles Veterans Organization. Preceded in death by parents, James and Della Branum; six brothers and three sisters. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Leora Crum Branum; sons, Stephen Branum and wife, Rosemary of Kingston, Charles “Chuck” Branum Jr. and wife, Dorothy of Madisonville; daughter, Pam Littleton and husband, Dennis of Kingston; several grandchildren and great grandchildren including special great grandson, Sam Branum; several nieces and nephews including special niece, Mildred McCoy. Schweikhart, Earl F., age 82, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at the Loudon Health Care Center. Earl attended Tellico Village Community Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy . Earl was a skilled wood worker and was a member of the Tellico Village Wood Workers. He worked as a starter at Toqua Golf Club for many years and was a valued member of the Over the Hill Gang Golf Group. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Vera and is survived by his many friends in Tellico Village. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 9, at the Tellico Village Community Church. Rev. Martin Singley will officiate. Robert Andrew (Andy) Long, age 26, of Karns, passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning, August 1, 2006. Andy was an active member of Living Water Church. He attended Karns High School. Andy was a very creative person, loved working with his hands, carpentering, automotive, landscaping and helping others. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Eugene Long. Survivors: mother, Linda Long; brother and sister-in-law, Jeremy and Jamia Long; sister, Jessica Long all of Karns; grandparents, Betty and Fred Woods of Karns, Kenneth and Donna Long of Kingston; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Jason Sparks, Edward McCarty, Randy Sparks and Dustin Vesser.
