Tracie Yvonne (Big Tracie) Yocum Crowe, age 29, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Saturday August 25, 2007. Tracie was born in Parkersburg, WV. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Faye Nelson Yocum; aunt, Janet Stone; great aunt, Jakie Kirk. Tracie is survived by her special companion of 12 years, Rodney Turpin; mother, Brenda Madison Yocum of Knoxville; father, Richard A. Mahayla Elizabeth Pate Jones, 10 month old infant daughter of Timmy Jones and Sarah Pate of Knoxville, passed away Sunday August 26, 2007 at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. In addition to her parents Mahayla Elizabeth is survived by her grandparents, Tim and Nancy Jones, Harold Pate and Kathy Martin all of Knoxville; aunts, Bambi Munsey and Samantha Hall. Betty M. Ninis, age 70, of Lenoir City, TN formerly of Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007. Betty was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by sons, Bill Ninis and Danny Malcome; parents, Chlorus and Ruth Mosier Corder; sisters, Mary Lou Wallace and Nancy Myers. Betty is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Ninis; children: Gary Malcome and wife, Crystal of Columbia, SC, Kathy Malcome, Robert Ninis and wife, Deb all of Lenoir City, Larry Ninis of Millington, IL; grandchildren: Joshua Ninis, Sami Ninis, Yahna Ninis, Kaitlynn Ninis and Dustin Malcome; brother, Jimmy Corder and Terry Corder; sister, Sandy Hunt; several nieces and nephews. Thelma A. Dyer Petty, age 83, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at her home. Thelma was a member of West Broadway Baptist Church. She was retired from Yale & Towne. Thelam was preceded in death by parents, James and Pearl Palmer Dyer; brothers, William and Charles Dyer; sisters, Ruth Gibboney, Frances Morgan and Catherine Dyer. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Decker, Leigh Bettis - age 37, of Loudon, passed away suddenly Monday, August 27, 2007. She was a 1988 graduate of Loudon High School and a 1993 graduate of East Tennessee State University. Leigh was a member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church and was a longtime employee of Adult Community Training. She dedicated much of her life toward the betterment of others. Preceded in death by grandparents, Sam Miller, Ella Mae Miller and Clarence Bettis. She is survived by her husband, Billy John Decker: parents, Linda and Charles Bettis; sister, Amanda Monks and husband, Kim; niece, Logan Monks; nephew, Cameron Monks; grandmother, Edith Bettis; father-in-law, Edwin Decker; mother-in-law, Arleen Decker; special pets, BooBoo and Hazelnut; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Patricia (Patsy) Ann Turner Boring, age 72, of Concord, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, August 28, 2007 at Park West Hospital surrounded by her family. Patsy was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1953. Patsy was a fun & loving wife, mother to 3 children and Memaw to her 5 grandchildren. She will be remembered for her joy, energy, and zest for life. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elberta Turner. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Ben Boring; daughter and son-in-law, Benna and Phil Dortch of Farragut; sons and daughters-in-law, Van and Bonnie Boring of Louisville, Brad and Gail Boring of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Nicole Harris, Michelle Cosse, Camden and Hallie Boring, Matthew Boring; sister and brother-in-law, Jewell and Jack Morgan of Maynardville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Faye Turner of New Market, Gene and Jean Turner of Knoxville; special sister-in-law Kathlyn Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. Miller, Robert (Bob) Lind, (age 53), of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Silver Spring, MD and Oak Ridge, TN, died on August 29, 2007 after a courageous year-long battle with a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He was a gifted listener and conversationalist and always enjoyed talking with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, nieces, nephews, and grandson. Bob worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory for 25 years as an Air Quality Control Specialist in the Energy Division. He was especially proud of his work on various clean coal projects. Bob enjoyed a long-standing culinary relationship with his "Lunch Bunch", Bo, Keith, Marty, Mikhail, and Stas. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with both a B.S. and M.S. in meteorology. He chose a career in meteorology after working on the weather merit badge for his Eagle Scout award. While at Penn State, Bob was an enthusiastic member of the Theta Chi fraternity. He played trombone in the Penn State Blue Band, Washington Redskins Marching Band, and the Oak Ridge Community Band. He spent the past year fulfilling a lifelong dream of traveling to all 50 states; he also traveled to Europe, South Africa, Japan and Indonesia. Always up for an adventure, he enjoyed yearly hikes up Mt. LeConte with his wife and friends Dave and Sarah. He was also working on a personal best-time for running up and back to the summit of Mt. LeConte via his favorite trail, Alum Bluff. He canoed the Boundary Waters, went on safari in Africa, took his family on many road trips (some with surprising consequences), and geocached. Bob was a dedicated runner, rower, and skier. He volunteered with the Oak Ridge Rowing association and enjoyed participating in crew events. He was in the Knoxville Track Club and successfully ran the half marathon. He was a ten-year member of the MHUGA Rafting Association (¡uno mas!). He attended First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge for many years. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Lind Miller, and nephew, Robert Neal Willis. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rose Miller; father, Robert D. Miller of Silver Spring, MD; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Chris Gadda of Palo Alto, CA, Stephanie and Troy McHenry of Lynchburg, VA; grandson, Grant McHenry; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Debby Miller of Clarksville, MD; brother-in-law Mel Willis and wife Sharon; sister-in-law Teresa Lechter and husband Robert; beloved nieces and nephews: Scott, Kary, Johnny, Casey, Matt, Kelley, Laura, Lauren; cousins Christine and David Knisley; special friends, Dave and Sarah Hetrick, Rich and Eileen Saylor, Steve and Katie Perry, and Bill and Ellen Rooney. She was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Joe Marie was a graduate of Hiwassee College and retired from ORNL. She was a very talented musician. Preceded in death by husband, James T. Davis; parents, Joseph L. Jones and Evalina Alexander Jones; sisters: Frances Jones, Edith Wright, Ruth Jones, Lucille Jones and Esther Mills; niece, Joyce Watson. Linda was Deputy Trustee in Loudon Co. where she worked for over 21 years and was a member of the Loudon Co. GOP Women’s Organization. Preceded in death by mother and father, Margaret and Burton Pettey and brother-in-law, Bill Thompson. Wright, Billy Fred (Master Sgt. National Guard Unit 278), age 72, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of Central United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Billy retired from Martin Marietta Y-12 plant. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Inez Wright. Survived by his wife of 29 years, Hilda Smith Wright; children, Steven Lee Wright of Las Vegas, NV and Sherry Elaine Eads of Newberry, FL; grandchildren, Matthew Perkey of Newberry, FL and Joshua Wright of Lenoir City; sister, Lucille Rankin of Lenoir City; brothers, Calvin Wright of Lenoir City and Cecil Wright of Powell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ailey, John D., age 76, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the Farragut Health Care Center. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the Navy on the U. S. S. Kitty Hawk. John was a retired contractor. Preceded in death by parents, Michael and Mary Ailey along with several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Dianna Hunt and husband, Phillip of Lenoir City, Mary Gray and Anita Pipes both of Richmond, Ind.; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Mark Ailey of Chattanooga; sister, Frances Kindred of Chattanooga; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Lenoir City Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired from Yale and Town Security. Preceded in death by her grandaughter, Jackie McCoy and sister, Pearl Hawkins. Survived by her daughters, Norma Lindsey of Lenoir City and Margaret Duggan of Knoxville; grandson, Kenneth McCoy of Knoxville; sister, Irene Tanner of Wabash, In; three nephews. Pressley, Arthur H., age 83, of Concord, passed away Saturday evening, December 6, 2003, at the St. Marys Hospital. He attended Centerview Baptist Church. Arthur retired from First Utility District in Concord and was a longtime farmer. Arthur served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. and later in the United States Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Cordia Pressley;sisters, Georgia Lawson and Imogene Luttrell; brother, Leon Pressley and son- in-law, Franklin Wood. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Dunlap Pressley; daughter, Evelyn Wood of Rockville, Maryland; grandson, Terry Wood and wife, Brenda of Florida; granddaughter, Kelley Evtushek and husband, Steve of Maine; great grandsons: Michael, Nicholas and Christopher all of Florida; sister, Aileen Henderson of Meigs Co; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sloan, Fay H., age 88, of Travelers Rest, SC, widow of Harold D. Sloan, died Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the home of her daughter. born in Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Flora Styles Henderson. Mrs. Sloan was retired from Renfrew Bleachery after 30 years of service. She was a 22-year member of Senior Action's Congregate Dining and a faithful lifelong member of Travelers Rest First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by 3 sisters: Azalee H. Cooper; Ruth H. Hunter; and Elsa H. Frost. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law: Sandra and Tony Anderson; a son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Pat Sloan of Farragut; a sister: Edna Schultz; grandchildren: Stephen and Emile Sloan; Laura and Michael Rupe; Michael Sloan; Elizabeth Anderson; and Julia Anderson; a niece: Sue Cooper Hill; and a nephew: William N. Abel, John Robert (Jack), age 76, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee, passed way Saturday evening, December 6, 2003, at his home. Jack was a former resident of Herkimer, New York and retired from Hale Manufacturing in Herkimer. He was a member of the Tellico Village Commuity Church and the Village Mens Golf Association. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by his parents, Leigh and Ruth Lamb Abel and his brother, Leigh Abel. Jack is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Bonnie Benson Abel; daughters, Aileen Lukomski and husband, Edward of Horseheads, New York, Micky Johnson and husband, Jerry of Maryville, Tennessee; grandchildren: Britta and Lara Lukomski, Andrea and Tommy Johnson; sisters-in-law, Margaret Abel of Orange City, Florida, Betty Carbone and husband, Rocky of Herkimer; brother-in-law, John Benson and wife, Stella of Sarasota, Florida; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Leslie Wereszczak and her family also survive. Reynolds, George F. (Shorty), age 71, of 393 Church Dr., Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2003 at the U. T. Hospital. He was of the Baptist Faith. Shorty served in the Rescue Squad for many years. He was preceded in death by father and mother, Jim and Oletha Reynolds; sisters, Anna Howard, Olie Lawson and Fannie Reynolds; brothers, Sam, Robert and J. R. Reynolds. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Frances Reynolds; sons, Gary Reynolds and wife, Connie, Larry Reynolds and wife, Mona all of Lenoir City; daughters, Judy Reynolds of Lenoir City with whom he resided, Margaret Tinch and husband, Tim of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tiffany, Justin, Eugene, Christy, Elizabeth, Samantha, Jason, Meredith, Michelle, Timothy, and Jessie; great grandchildren, Autumn, Kailee, A. J., Michael and Ariel; brother, R. L. Reynolds and wife, Janice of Lenoir City; sisters, Nancy Gilland of Lenoir City, Ailene Moore and husband, Curtis of Lenoir City, Boonie Bowman and husband, Clarence of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Chapel with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Taylor Adams officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Chapel and proceed to Dogwood Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers, Avery Grizzle, Jason Reynolds, Justin Reynolds, Eugene Reynolds, Jesse Huffine and Junior Williams. Hawkins Chapel, 102 B Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of George (Shorty) Reynolds.

Hayas Michael W. - Visitation will be 2 – 4 p.m., Sunday Dec. 21st. at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City for Michael W. Hayas, 57, who passed away on Aug. 21, 2003 in New Iberia, Louisiana where he had been a resident for the past 30 years. His body was cremated and burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.Mr. Hayas was employed with Francis Engine as a machinist. He served in the TN National Guard. He is survived by a sister, Phyllis Cutrera and her husband, Ronald of New Iberia, LA; one nephew, 2 nieces, 4 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces all of New Iberia, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul Hayas and Wilma Jean Dixon Hayas; grandparents, Gertrude and Walter Chapman.
