Crowe, Hazel C., age 93, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Parkwest Hospital. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Hazel was retired from Johnson Health Care Center and was a very caring person for the sick. She was noted for her homemade old fashioned stack cakes. Preceded in death by husband, Larkin Henderson Crowe; parents, Charlie Tate and Sammie Overton Tate; sons, Daniel Allen Crowe and Kenneth Lynn Crowe; sisters, Lucy Luttrell and Elizabeth Johnson and brother, William (Bill) Tate. Survived by daughter, Nina Crowe Overton of Knoxville; grandchildren which were her pride and joy, Megan Danielle and Kellen Daniel both of Knoxville; sister, Nina Ball of Knoxville; half sisters, Ruth Shubert and Nellie Manis; half brothers, Roy, Jack, Albert and Don Tate; several nieces and nephews; special friend, C. Sewall Anthony, age 80, of Roane County, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Harriman Hospital. Sewall was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Army in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, Molly and Carl Anthony and sister, Jessie Pipes. Sewall is survived by his daughter, Katie Davis; brother, Vaughn Anthony and wife, Evelyn; sisters, Mary Hennings, Betty Kaplan and husband, Mike, Jackie Smith, Nancy Hall and husband, Jere; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Harold William Johnson, age 69, of Manchester, TN, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 in Winchester, TN. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired heavy equipment operator. Harold served his country in the United States Navy. He liked to be in the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ruby Mae Johnson; sister, Gerry Vineyard; brother, Charles Johnson. Harold R. Newberry, age 74, of Lenoir City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 30, 2007 after a battle with cancer. Harold was a strong and faithful Christian, father and grandfather. He was a retired Loudon County businessman, owner of Newberry Wrecker Service and Newberry Trucking. Harold was a 47 year member of the Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F & AM and a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Midge Newberry; parents, Lucille and Paul Newberry; brothers, Harry and Raymond Newberry. Lora was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir City where she was a member of the Virginia Breazeale Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. Sartin; parents; 10 siblings; granddaughter, Cynthia Sartin and great grandsons, Tyler Ward and Robbie Ward. Survived by her daughter, Linda Sartin Lee and husband, R. David; son, Jack G. She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Walter Kaun and John Kegley and uncle, Dallas Kaun. She is survived by parents, Mark and Diane Kegley; brother, Alan Kegley; grandmothers, Florence Kaun of Maryville and Helen Kegley of West Alexandria, OH; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert Frederick Anderson, of Loudon, TN, passed away Thursday morning, December 13, 2007 at Summit View Rehabilitation Center, Farragut TN. He was born April 18, 1932 in Lancaster, Ohio to James and Marie (Pierce) Anderson. Bob is survived by his wife Tracey (Van Haften) Anderson, his constant companion and beloved dog Bentley of Tellico Village Loudon, TN. Surviving besides his wife is his son Steven (Michelle) Anderson, grandchildren Cory and Cole of Ann Arbor, MI, daughter Kristin (Keith) Blaies, grandchildren Austin and Alex of Houston TX, childrens mother June (Stover) Anderson of Saginaw, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Pat Thimmes, Lancaster, OH, and Jean Shockley and brother Gerald (Andy) Anderson both of Columbus, OH, father-in law Tom Van Haften of Wheeler, MI. Surviving are his brother-in law Raymond Thimmes of Lancaster and sister-in-law Nikki (Gasbarro) Anderson, Columbus, mother-in-law Charlene Van Haften of Wheeler, MI and sister-in-law Kristin Van Haften, Madisen and Garrett Sigafoose of Breckenridge, MI. Special Nieces Jill (Jeff) Boll, children Jacob and Dylan Powell, OH, Wendy Anderson of Clearwater Beach, FL, other niece and nephews, and many close friends in Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, and Florida. Bob graduated from Lancaster High School and received a baseball scholarship to Otterbein College in Westerville, OH. He left college after his first year to join the Air Force during the Korean War and served as an Accounting Clerk stationed in French Morocco. He was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant and received the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medal. Following active duty he enrolled at Bowling Green University and graduated with an Accounting Degree with Honors. Bob was then hired by the Coopers and Lybrand Accounting Firm in Detroit, MI and received his CPA certification. He then joined the Wickes Lumber Corporation, Saginaw MI and served for many years as an Accountant. Later he was one of ten founders of the Wolohan Lumber Company. He was instrumental in listing the organization on the NASDAQ stock market as a publicly traded company, as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer until his retirement. Upon retirement he enjoyed vegetable gardening, growing enough produce to supply the Tooweka Circle neighborhood in TN. Bob was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed competing in softball, shuffleboard, darts, and a good game of horseshoes. He was an Ohio State Buckeye fan, as well as the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed fishing at Buckeye Lake, OH at his cottage on Eight Point Lake, MI and upon retirement Houghton Lake, MI, and on the Little Tennessee River. He especially loved deep sea fishing with Captain Mark on Imagine That at Venice Beach, FL. He spent many weeks of vacation on Little Marco Island where he co-owned a vacation home with his brother and several friends. He was once active as a member of the Saginaw Club; member of the Tellico Village Home Owners Association, Mens Cancer Survivor Group, and American Legion Post 256 Tellico Lake. According to Bobs wishes cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Click Funeral Home Lenoir City, TN. A celebration of life service will be held in Tellico Village Loudon, TN Saturday February 2, and also in Breckenridge, MI with a date yet to be determined. Thompson, Milton, age 73, of Farragut, passed away Saturday evening, February 1, 2003 at the Parkwest Medical Center. Milton was of the Baptist faith and a friend of the church family at Grassy Valley Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army serving in Germany. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pauline Bailey Thompson, three sisters, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Martin, Dr. Robert Lloyd, age 68, of Concord, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2003 at his home. Dr. Martin was a retired Obstetrician and Emergency Physician. Most recently he was a physician at DRD of Knoxville. He was a loving husband and father with many varied interests including golf. He was also an avid UT sports fan. Dr. Martin took a personal interest in the welfare of his many friends and patients. He served two tours of duty in Korea with the US Marine Corps. Survivors: daughter, Hilary Anne Martin of Knoxville and her mother, Kathleen C. Martin of Winnetka, IL; cousin, Patricia Heckman of St. Anne, IL and many friends. Adams, Barbara J. Stansberry, age 65, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday morning February 3, 2003 at Park West Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Mark Edward Kirkland, and her parents Joe and Frances Stansberry. Survived by husband, Clinton C. Adams, and brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Chong Kosier, three special nephews, Keith, Kent, and Kevin Kosier, one great niece, Sky Lar Kosier; Godson, Walter Petroski, his wife Jowana and their four children. Hawn, Clyde L., age 71, of Farragut, passed away Tuesday morning, February 4, 2003 at Park West Hospital. Clyde was very active in the Farragut community serving on the Farragut Municipal Planning Commission, served as chairman of the McFee Rd. Park Committee and was a FUN volunteer(Farragut Unsung Navy). He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the U.S. Army. Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Hawn. Hampton, Carl (Big Daddy)- age 84, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2003 in a local hospital after a short illness. Carl was born August 21, 1918 in Tellico Plains and was a lifelong resident of Lenoir City. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. A member of Local #917 and a member of International Union of Operating Engineers for over 60 years. Carl served in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by parents, Dock and Della Crowder Hampton. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Eva Yates Hampton; daughter and son-in-law, Frieda and Gene Lawson; grandchildren, Rodney Lawson, Grady Lawson and wife, Cristy, Josheena Lawson and Alexis Lawson; great grandchildren, Kitiara Lawson and Autumn Lawson; sister and brother-in-law, Reba and Roy (Rudd) Armentrout; several nieces and nephews. Mansfield, Ruth W. of Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee formerly of Waterford, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 9, 2003 at her home with her family after a long illness. born in Crowell, Texas March 3, 1919. After her parents died she was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Delbert and Gay Owens. She worked at the Pontiac Letter Shop in early life and went to work at Pontiac Motor during World War II. She later went to work for Oakland County as a secretary to the county accountant. She married Arthur Mansfield and they purchased The Pontiac Letter Shop where they had met. They established Gayanne's Floral Concepts, a floral shop in Waterford, Michigan for their daughter, Gayanne. Much of their life was spent in active work with the Elks Lodge of Pontiac - Waterford. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Pontiac, Michigan. Preceded in death by parents, Delbert and Gay Owens; sister, Marie Lawler. Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Arthur M. Mansfield of Tellico Village, Tennessee formerly of Waterford; daughter, Gayanne Beatty and husband, Brian of Tellico Village; grandchildren: Aimy (Kyle) Gauthier of Waterford, Michigan, Scott (Sheridan) Wood of Waterford, Michigan, and Brandon Beatty of Hartland, Michigan; great grandson, Bradley Wood of Waterford; family dog, Buddy. She was a member of Southport Baptist Church. A former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved to sing in the church choir and with Sermatones Group. Preceded in death by husband, C. G. (Bus) Brown; son, Paul Douglas Brown; parents, Everett and Beulah Smith; and brother, Ray D. Smith. Moats, David L., age 53, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly, February 11, 2003 while coon hunting in Loudon Co. He attended Sixth Avenue Church of God. David owned and operated Little M Market #1 for 27 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He operated Sugar Limb Blue Tick Kennel where he bred and raised Blue Tick Coon Hounds . A member of BBCHA, BBOA and Coon Hunters Association. He was a Master of Hounds and had written articles for magazines. Most of all he loved the Lord and witnessed to patron's at his store. Preceded in death by father, Carl R. Moats and brother, Hoyt Moats. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Fritts Moats; children, Monica Ridenour and husband, David of Fort Eutis, VA and Danyelle McLain and husband, Carleton of Loudon; 5 grandchildren, Miranda, Alyssa and Kirsten McLain, Hunter and Elijah Ridenour; mother, Glenn Moats of Lenoir City; brothers, Thomas Moats and wife Lola, Boyd Lee Moats and wife, Elaine; sister, Joyce Jenkins and husband, Vernon all of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Sixth Avenue Church of God with Rev. Ernie Varner and Rev. Maynard Scott officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be fellow coon hunters: Lynn Tutterow, Jody Lanter, Casey Yates, Ronnie Jaynes, Bobby Shelton, Tony Grayson, Matt Turner, David Ridenour and Carleton McLain.
