Magill, Marjorie Cabbage, age 84, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday morning, February 23, 2005. Marjorie was a member of First Baptist Church Concord. She was a graduate of Knoxville Business College. Marjorie was retired from Union Carbide K-25. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. Marjorie was a loving aunt and a wonderful mother to her nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Russell Cabbage and Pearl Janeway Cabbage; brothers Gilbert Lee Cabbage, Victor C. Cabbage, and P. Luke Cabbage. Lyon, William Southern Jr. (Bill), age 83, of Farragut died Friday morning, February 25, 2005. Bill was born in Pulaski, VA. He graduated from the University of Virginia and joined the Manhattan Project in 1944. After a year at Hanford WA, he returned to Oak Ridge and from 1947 to 1985 he was a radiochemist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He published a number of papers, gathered several awards, authored, co-authored and edited a number of technical books, was on the board of a number of technical journals and wrote a column for one of them. An avid reader, a poor golfer and an average tennis player, he enjoyed both sports and intellectual activities. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Carey Greer Lyon. Survivors include his son, William S. Lyon III and wife Robin of Farragut; daughter, Victoria Lyon Tolley and husband Dr. Vincent Tolley of Sevierville; grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Lyon, Josh, Laurie and Katie Tolley; sister, Jane Lyon Alderman and husband Ernest Alderman of Sarasota, FL; 3 very caring sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Greer Nichols of Oakfield, TN, Carolyn Greer Bond of Denmark, TN and Anne Greer Carter of Chattanooga, TN. Newton, Mark Adam, age 42, of Farragut, formerly of Johnson City, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 24, 2005. Mark was a nurse practitioner. He was a member of First Baptist Church Concord. Skidmore, Ruby L., age 87, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2005 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Ruby was retired from Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill and was a former member of Daughter’s of America Revolution. Preceded in death by her son, Sammy (Jabber) Skidmore; parents, Luther and Kate Cook; granddaughter, Cecila Jane Click Tilley; several brothers and sisters. Survived by her husband of 71 years, James H. Skidmore; children, James W. Campbell, Gerald Lynn, age 64, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Gerald was the owner of Gerald’s Smokehouse and Campbell Builders in Lenoir City. Gerald served in the National Guard. Adams, Ruth Headden - of Tellico Village Community, Loudon, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005, at Park West Hospital. Mrs. Adams attended Hillsboro High School in Nashville and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was an avid bridge player, reader and boater. The Adams family lived in Nashville, Birmingham, Memphis, Jackson, MS, Miami, Jacksonville, New Orleans, New Jersey, Dallas and Atlanta before retiring to Loudon, TN. Mrs. Adams attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. Preceded in death by her father, Harmon C. Headden and her mother, Ruth Marie Dunnagan. Survived by her husband, Donald G. Adams; she was the dedicated mother of five children: Gray Adams of Atlanta, GA, Clay Adams of Indianapolis, IN, Patrick Adams of San Diego, CA, Julie Adams of Atlanta, GA and Lee Ann Adams of Wilmington, NC; she was known as “Mimi” to her six grandchildren: Kelsie, Sammy, Sarah, Rachel, Julia and Graycen. Also surviving are her stepmother, Dottie White; sisters, Nancy Young, Cheri Henderson and Ginger Mize; brother, Henry Headden along with several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. Maddox, L J, age 73, of Farragut, formerly of Bristol, passed away suddenly Monday afternoon, February 28, 2005 at his home. L J was an employee of Mayo's Garden Center. He was retired from First Virginia Bank as a Senior Vice President after 34 years of service. L J was a member of many bank and civic organizations including president of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce and the Southeastern Band Festival. He was a member of the Blountville United Methodist Church but had recently attended First Farragut United Methodist Church. L J was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U S Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Etta Maddox. Survivors: wife of 42 and a half years, Helen Maddox; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sonja Maddox of Farragut; grandchildren, Lucas and Benjamin Maddox; sisters, Dorothy Garland of Friendsville and Jean Steel of Smyrna; brother, Leroy Maddox of Philadelphia; several aunts, uncles and cousins. June had been a resident at Baptist Health Care in Lenoir City for 15 years. She was preceded in death by husband, John C. Nichols; brother, Johnny King; sisters, Katherine Tipton and Audrey King. Survived by daughters, Neita Berrier and Jackie Nichols both of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tanda Lenae Pierce and Jody Berrier; great granddaughter, Kelsey Nichole Thomas; brother, John B. McDonald, William K. “Mac”, age 73, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Parkwest Hospital. He was a Corporal (T) 7 serving in the U. S. Army where he was an ambulance driver/Medic. Mac was a member of the American Legion and the Optimist Club. He was retired from Revco where he worked as a guard. He was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. Preceded in death by the mother of his children, Neille More McDonald; parents, Thomas and Lottie McDonald. Survived by wife, Shirley Turpin McDonald; children, Martha and Connie Osborne of Bristol, TN, Billy and Eddie McDonald of Knoxville, Stacy and Terry Clabough, Tracy Mills, Billy and Christina Davis, Donna and David Wade all of Lenoir City; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was a member of Lee Heights Baptist Church and a former mechanic at Waldrop Auto Service. He was an avid car race fan and was a former employee of Atomic Speedway. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bertha Smithers; brother, Bobby Smithers and brother-in-law, Bill Haggard. Hatcher, Bonnie Marie, age 79, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006. She was a member of Hensley Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hatcher. Survived by her son, Allen Hatcher of Lenoir City; daughter, Juanita Sampson of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Lisa Thacker, Shannon Jenkins and husband, Chris, Brad Hatcher and wife, Stephanie, Freddie Hatcher, Jr. and wife, Amy; great grandchildren; Ryan Thacker, Carissa and Breanna Hatcher, Alecs Hinkle, Clay and Chloee Jenkins and Kayden Hatcher (unborn); sisters, Nell Hardin and Ruth Davis; brother, Burch Lee; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hawkins Chapel, 102 B Street, Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Hawkins Chapel with Rev. Jon Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Hawkins Chapel, 102 B Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of Bonnie Marie Hatcher.

Hensley, Jimmy Ray (Red), age 59, of Maryville, passed away February 5, 2006. He was an employee of Cerama-Speed of Maryville. Red was a former employee of Cherokee Distributing and Mayo’s. Preceded in death by mother, Mildred Hensley; grandchildren, Benjamin Daniel Brashears and Kayla Nicole Hensley. Survived by daughter, Joyce Hensley Brashears and husband, Mike, Tammy Hensley Amburn and husband, Jimmy all of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Josh and Abigail Brashears; father, James Hensley and wife, Ietta; sister, Peggy Webb and husband, Frank all of Knoxville; brothers, Ronnie Hensley and wife, Becky, Benny Hensley all of Knoxville; half sisters, Tammy, Becky and Sarah; half brother, Earl Bolin; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Latham officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Lenoir City. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Jimmy Ray (Red) Hensley.
