Thomas Richard Lawlor, age 63, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN formerly of Waldorf, MD passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Tom was a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force, where he had 24 years of service and served in the Vietnam War. After retiring he worked at General Motors and Honda Parts in Maryland. Tom was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and traveler. Tom was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfreida and Lynus Lawlor; brother, Paul Lawlor. Ada Mae Huffine, of Loudon, a longtime resident of Loudon Healthcare Center, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 18, 2007 went on to be with Jesus. Ada was retired from Don P. James (Jim) Mazzagatti, age 86, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away Sunday morning, January 21, 2007. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Rose Mazzagatti; sister, Dorothy Mazzagatti Amadio. James Wayne (Jim) Wilson Sr., age 65, of Loudon, TN, formerly of Manassas, VA, died Sunday morning, January 21, 2007. Jim was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a life time automobile professional, and finished his career at Rodgers-Fore Chevrolet in Lenoir City, TN. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was a veteran of the U S Air Force. Frances Larson Abel, age 84, of Concord, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Parkwest Medical Center. Mrs. Abel was an active member of Concord Presbyterian Church for 60 years, serving whenever needed. She graduated from Old Knoxville High School in the class of 39B and then from the University of Tennessee. After a 25-year career as an Engineering Associate at the Tennessee Valley Authority, she retired in 1979, and has spent the last 28 years in numerous volunteer capacities. Her activities included serving at FISH, KARM, and Hope Resource Center; recording for the blind; and volunteering for 12 years at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. In 1991, Mrs. Abel demonstrated her passion for preserving the history of the Concord-Farragut community by managing the Farragut Folklife Museum gift shop, which supports the museum. Mrs. Abel's love of Concord is also evident in her illustration of her husband Mac Abel's book, Concord: Where Time Stood Still. Many have enjoyed her hospitality and the rich history of her town and family home, built in 1866, and lovingly restored by the couple. She will be remembered for her creative talents, from her hand-painted Christmas trees to quilts to knitted and crocheted items. Her legacy of love, strength, and perseverance lives on in her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. B.M. Larson, she is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mac Abel; son Bob Abel and wife Linda of Franklin, NC; daughter Carol Russell and husband Dave of Concord, TN; five grandchildren including Barbara Abel of Franklin, NC, and Jonathan Abel of Palmyra, VA; Sarah Mathis and husband Jackie, Erin McCarty and husband Chris, and Laura Russell of Knoxville, TN; five great-grandchildren including Emily, Isaac, Daniel, Esther, and Luke Abel; and three international students who became special members of the family: Fred Wickert, Clara Parker, and Fan Zhang; brothers Bert Larson of NJ, and Rev. Rev. Neil E. DeMarco, age 60, of the Karns Community, formerly of Orange County, CA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Neil was a graduate of Chapman Univesity in California. His favorite sport was baseball, having played throughout his life. Neil was owner of the Alternative Mattress Store and More in Knoxville and was in the furniture industry for his entire career. He was an ordained minister and was an instructor with the Ministerial Studies Courses through MII. Neil was a member of Lovell Heights Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marty DeMarco. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Marlene Fleenor DeMarco; a loving father to his two daughters, Christina DeMarco of Los Angeles, CA and Theresa DeMarco of Tacoma, WA, all of whom will cherish his memory forever.
