Mildred Maxine Stroud
Mildred Maxine Stroud, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Hill officiating.
Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born June 2, 1921, in Robertson County to Wesley Thomas and Flora Mae Henderson Inman.
Survivors include her husband, John Sory Stroud Sr.; sons, John Sory Stroud Jr., Thomas J. Stroud, Kenneth M. Stroud and James W. Stroud, all of Springfield; daughters, Gloria Faye Cobb of Cedar Hill and Sandra R. Leech of Dickson; a brother, Donald Inman of Madison; sisters, Emojean Crain and Ann Tanner, both of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Thelma Smith Jones
Thelma Smith Jones, 93, died Dec. 30, 2002.
Funeral services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. with Dr. Farris Moore officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Robertson County to Tennie Stack and James Joseph Smith.
She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie E. Jones and a son, Billy Irvin Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Matthews and husband, Billy of Springfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Catherine M. Cook
Catherine M. Cook, 83, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 2 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Schott and Rev. Al Thompson officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by a son, William “Bill” Anderson.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband, E. Garner Cook of Springfield; a daughter, Brenda Anderson McKay of Georgia; grandchildren, Amanda Brooke McKay and Devon McKay of Georgia, and Paul Anderson of Springfield.

Roy E. Orsbon, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Centennial Medical Center.
His body was cremated.
He is survived by step-sons, Harold Crawford of Springfield, Finess Crawford of Kansas; a step-daughter, Mary Hull of Kansas; two brothers, Mack Orsbon of Kansas and Bill Orsbon of Greenbrier; sisters, Ola Bell Buchanan of Madison, Peggy Rose of Michigan, and Rachel McBroom of White House.

Hugh Edward Elliott
Hugh Edward Elliott, 45, of Clermont, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at his home.
His remains were cremated and his ashes scattered atop Mt. Mitchell, N.C.
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating.
Mr. Elliott was born Oct. 3, 1957, in Aiken, S.C.
He was a real estate salesman and an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Felix Ewing Elliott Jr.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Susan Elliott of Clermont, Fla.; his mother, Janelle Cook Elliott of Springfield; brother, Felex Elliott III of Murfreesboro; a sister, Elaine E. Murphy of Springfield; uncles Hugh James Cook of Greenbrier, and Malcolm H. Cook of Murfreesboro.

Gabriel Ray Lambert
Gabriel Ray Lambert, 7-week-old infant, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in Pine Knot, Ky.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 7 at noon in Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating.
He was born Nov. 16, 2002, in Robertson County.
Survivors include his father, Justin Lambert of Springfield; mother, Stacieann Blanche Ball of Springfield; grandparents, David and Harriette Jones of Springfield, Robert Ray Lambert of Springfield, Mickey and Jean Duncan of Kentucky; great-grandparents, Joe and Delma Kennedy of Greenbrier, Nellie Ray Lambert of Springfield, and Annabelle Snow of Illinois; uncles, Dewayne Jones and Christopher Lambert both of Springfield, Glenn and B.J. Juntunen of Kentucky; aunts, Rachel Deveny of Kentucky, Misty Lavender of Alabama, Markeela Jackson of Springfield.

Mary J. Hunter, 96, of Springfield, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Elmhurst Nursing Home.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. John Christian and Rev. Kyle Slater officiating.
The interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunter was born Dec. 4, 1906, in Robertson County to the late Isham and Lucy Williams Moon.
She was a retired cook from the old North Robertson School and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.H. “Pete” Hunter, and by her son, Jimmy Hunter.
She is survived by sons, Robert Owen Hunter of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas Warren Hunter of Adairville, Ky.; a sister, Daisy Farmer of Springfield; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
