Guy Davis Redfern
Guy Davis Redfern, 74, of Nashville, died at Alvin York Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003.
He was a disabled Army veteran.
He was born in Cross Plains Feb. 14, 1929, to the late Marshal and Dovie Redfearin Redfern.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 12 at noon in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Dr. David Leavell officiating.
Burial followed in Cross Plains Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and David Hood of Nashville; brothers, Joe Redfern, Gerald Redfern, Freddie Redfern; sisters, Louise Eff, Mildred Owens, Linda Watkins; half-brothers, Thomas Earl, Robert Turner, Barbara Ann Holt; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge are arrangements.

James Filmore Heatherly
James Filmore Heatherly, 85, of Cedar Hill, died at his residence Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, Monday, Dec. 15 with Bro. Richard Heatherly officiating.
Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville, Ky.
He was born to the late Willard and Louise Travis Heatherly in Cannon County June 16, 1918.
He was retired from Unarco.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Mildred Hallman Heatherly, a son, J.W. Heatherly, a brother, Tom Heatherly, and a sister, Mary Frances Harper.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond Heather of Cedar Hill, and Kenneth and Barbara Heatherly of Joelton; half-brothers, Joe Heatherly of Nashville, Tony Heatherly of Pleasant View; a half-sister, Carolyn Dugger of Joelton; four brothers, Willard Heatherly of Colorado Springs, Colo., H. L. Heatherly of Gallatin, Richard Heatherly of Fayetteville, N.C., and Johnny Heatherly of Hartsville; three sisters, Elizabeth Ayers of Cedar Hill, Geneva Herndon of Greenbrier, and Josephine Cox of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Scott Heatherly, Jeff Heatherly, Donnie Heatherly, Terry Heatherly, Danny Rager, Chris Dean and Daniel O’Hanrahan.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Delene “Dee” Francisco
Delene “Dee” Francisco died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. with Father Joseph L. Desmond officiating.
Interment followed at Groves Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Jennie Hole of Cross Plains and Julie Craciunoiu of Indiana; sons, David Denning, Joe Denning of Indiana and Tony Hole of Cross Plains; six grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

John Robert Ellis
John Robert Ellis, 88, of Springfield, died at NorthCrest Medical Center Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev.. Larry Layne and Dr. Farris Moore officiating.
Mr. Ellis was born in Robertson County Oct. 2, 1915, to the late Elmer Jerome and Alice Bell Murphy Ellis.
He was a retired Staff Sergeant serving in World War II.
After leaving the service he went to work for Porter Griffin and in 1951, he became the owner of Pleasant View Feed Mill until he sold the business April 1994.
He was a member of the Wesley Bible Class where he served as secretary for the class at the First United Methodist Church for over 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Dorothy Ellis and Mary Catherine Perry.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Azlea Hyde Ellis of Springfield; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Clinard; devoted grandchildren, Ricky L. Clinard and Sharon Clinard; and a brother, Bates Ellis, all of Springfield; nephews, Jerome and Linda Ellis, Allen and Debbie Ellis, all of Springfield; and a niece, Alice Marie and Russell Pae of Houston, Texas; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; and two great-great-nephews; a brother-in-law, Jim Perry of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Mildred and W. L. Johnson of Pulaski.
The Wesley Bible Class served as honorary pallbearers.
The family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Rogers M. Johnson
Rogers M. “Chubby” Johnson, 51, of Springfield, died Dec. 3, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services were held Dec. 6 at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Springfield with Rev. Ben Williams officiating.
Burial followed at Restlawn Cemetery in Cedar Hill.
He was born July 20, 1952, to Elverri L. Johnson and Sanders “David” Trice.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Angelita Corley.
Survivors include a son, Ricardo “Ricky” Polk; a daughters, Shemika (Ron) Ellis; three sisters, Chiquita Johnson, Vanessa (Jimmy) Townsend, Trudessa Jackson Trice; five brothers, Glenn (Marie) Trice of Radcliff, Ky., Anothony (Patricia) Trice, Ft. Knox, Ky., Timothy Trice, Demetrius (Donna) Trice and Ural Spencer Trice of Springfield; six grandchildren, LaNeshia, D’Andrea, Shai Tya, Jahnari, Adonis, Ricardo; two special nieces, Katrina Johnson, and Jackie Jackson; a step-daughter, Tyronda Teasley; daughter-in-law, Crystal Harris; host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Cecile Mildred Farmer
Cecile Mildred Farmer, 95, of Franklin, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Hopkins Nursing Facility in Woodburn, Ky.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
She was a native of Simpson County, Ky., and the daughter of the late John Leslie Finn and the late Annie Virginia Sadler Finn.
Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church and a schoolteacher and also worked at the shirt factory.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leslie T. Farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Leslie Farmer and wife, Jenene of Franklin, Ky., and Bobby Farmer and wife, Ann of Orlinda; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, Ky. was in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Ruth Chunn
Phyllis Ruth Chunn of Ashland City died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. John Maltais Jr. officiating..
Burial followed in Wilson Cemetery in Pleasant View.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Hand, Larry Lee, Tony Collier, Tim Binkley, Wayne Yates, and Larry McCoy. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Daryl Yates, Wilson McCoy, Adam McCoy, Kevin Yates and AaronYates.
She was a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ and was employed by H.G. Hill Grocery.
She is preceded in death by her husband, K.G. Chunn.
Survivors include her sons, Phillip “Buddy” and daughter-in-law, Pam Chunn, Karl (Lisa) Chunn of Austin, Texas; daughters, Glenda (Larry) McCoy of Clarksville, Lisa (Wayne) Yates of Adams; brothers, Charles (June) McCoy of Pleasant “View, Samuel “Shorty” Jones of Pleasant View; a sister, Clara Morrison of Hendersonville; nine grandchildren, Elisah and Wilson McCoy, Jennifer Chunn, Daryl, Kevin, Aaron, and Ashley Yates, Adam and Ariel Chunn.
Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
