Olive Bernice Payne Hendrix, 96, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002.
Funeral services were held were conducted Thursday, July 18, at Austin & Bell in White House, at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Carl Martin officiating.
Pallbearers were James Riley Jernigan, Travis Jernigan, Billy Jernigan, David Payne, Harold Tate Jr., James Martin Weiss and Jeff Payne.
Entombment followed at Woodlawn

Lawrence D. Owens
Lawrence D. Owens, 85, of Springfield, died Friday, July 19, 2002.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 21 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Bill McCabe officiating.
The interment followed in William’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Owens was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Hughart, W.Va., to the late Merdith and Mary Jane Cochran Owens.
He was a retired highway worker for the State of West Virginia.
Mr. Owens was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was also a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Johnson Owens.
Mr. Owens is survived by sons, Lawrence Neil Owens and Howard Owens of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Stella Owens and Allyne Owens; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Marie B. Jones
Marie B. Jones, 97, of Springfield, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at NHC Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 20 at 11 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Carroll officiating.
The interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 7, 1904, in Robertson County to the late Neil and Allie May Fyke Burnett.
She was a homemaker and was the oldest living member of Bethlehem Baptist Church at the time of her death.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie “Glenn” Jones, and by her son, Jimmy Jones.
She is survived by a grandson, Steve Jones, and wife Debbie, of Springfield; granddaughter, Gail Ferrell of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Herbert Draughon Fyke
Herbert Draughon Fyke, 80, of Goodlettsville, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Skyline Medical Center.
Memorial services were conducted Monday, July 22, at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Fyke was born July 26, 1921, in Robertson County to the late Jere and Llian Draughon Fyke.
He was a retired meat pickler for Neuhoff Packing Co.
Mr. Fyke was a veteran of the U. S. Army and he was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Henry Fyke and Sanford Fyke.
Mr. Fyke is survived by his wife, Hester Law Fyke, of Goodlettsville; sons, Sydney Fyke and Leon Fyke, both of Goodlettsville, and Brian Fyke of Alaska; grandchildren, Emily Fyke of Alaska, Jessica Fyke and Jonathan Fyke, both of Goodlettsville.

Dorothye Aldridge Matthews
Dorothye Aldridge Matthews, 88, of Springfield, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Graveside services were conducted Friday, July 19, at 3 p.m. in the Hollywood Cemetery in Jackson with Elliott Wallace and Clyde Dean officiating.
Mrs. Matthews was born April 3, 1914, in Jackson, to the late Hallie C. and Bennie Ann Roberts Adridge.
She was a retired legal secretary from the law firm of
Walker & Goodman.
Mrs. Matthews was a member of the Central Christian Church in Springfield, was a founding member of the Robertson County Players, and was an instructor of Ballroom Dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Matthews.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by her daughters, Ann Stroud and husband, Bobby, of Cedar Hill, Becky Petty and husband, Tommy, of Springfield; a brother, Richard Aldridge of Fulton; grandchildren, Tracye Bryant of Adams, Bob Stroud of Cedar Hill, Jon Petty of Hendersonville and Rae Akard of Hermitage, and five great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the programs and activities of Morningside in Springfield.

Gary Lynn Farley
Gary Lynn Farley, 85, of Springfield, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at NHC Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 19 at 11 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Jeff Hutcheson officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Farley was born Sept. 24, 1916, in Birmingham, Ala., to the late William David and Nora Merrit Farley Sr.
He was retired from Pepsi Cola where he worked in vending maintenance.
Mr. Farley is survived by his wife, Martha Williams Farley, of Springfield; daughters, Judith Knight and husband, Marvin, of Gainesville, Texas, and Mary Hutcheson and husband, Wayne, of Greenbrier; a brother, William Farley Jr. of East Ridge; a sister, Gennie Rogers of Cottonwood, Ariz.; grandchildren, Marc Knight, Pierce Knight, Jeff Hutcheson and Lacey Vaughn; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the NorthCrest Auxiliary or to the Gorham McBane Public Library.

Ava Marie Hall
Ava Marie Hall, 43, of Bethel, Ohio, and formerly of Robertson County, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at her home.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, July 18 at 2 p.m. in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hall was born April 30, 1959, in Robertson County. She was a nursing home aid.
She is survived by son, Kirk Russell Hall of Springfield; daughters, Amy Marie Harden and husband, David, of Springfield, and Kelly Randolph and husband, Joey, of Springfield; mother and step-father, Beulah and James Goodman of Springfield; father, Harold Taylor of Springfield; fiance’, Dan Welz of Bethel, Ohio; brothers, Jewel Wayne Taylor and Tony Taylor of Springfield; sisters, Sandra Grayson and Joanne Paul, both of Russellville, and Donna Wilson of Cedar Hill; and a grandchild, Neylee Harden.
