Kevin Dewayne Strange
Kevin Dewayne Strange, 34, of Greenbrier, died on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001 at his home.
Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Adams Cemetery with Rev. Ken Gillespie officiating.
Mr. Strange was born in Robertson County on Sept. 12, 1967 to the late Robert Eugene and Margaret Christine Hill Strange
He was a guitarist for Southern Guitar.
Survivors include four brothers, Ronnie Garrison and Arthur Garrison, both of Cedar Hill, Michael Garrison of Portland, Ore. and Pat Garrison of Kentucky.

Maurice Clark Heard
Maurice Clark Heard, 77, of the Owens Chapel Community, died on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001 at Beverly Health Care.
Funeral Services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at Austin and Bell Funeral Home with Rev. J.J. Wheelbarger, Rev. Ben Wakefield and Rev. Herman Yates, Jr. officiating
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Heard was born in Dickson to the late C. Sterling and Ann Ella Moore Heard.
He was a retired teacher and principal. He was also past president of the Robertson County Educators Association, Cross Plains Ruritan Club and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Heard was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie Heard, and two brothers, Jessie and Henry Heard.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Harriet Heard and Allan and Belinda Heard, all of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Wayne Ellis; sisters, Serena Peebles, of Fayetteville, N.D., and Betty Cunningham of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren, Clay and Chris Burchett; three-great grandchildren, Rebekah, Gage, and Kinsey Burchett.
Austin and Bell was in charge of arrangements.
Frances Mitchell Moore
Frances Mitchell Moore, 91, of Clarksville, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001 at Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Austin and Bell Chapel in Springfield with Brothers John Maltais and Gene Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
She was born in Montgomery County on June 29, 1910 to the late James Lewis and Ruth Proctor Mitchell.
Mrs. Moore was a long time member of Stroudsville Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Morrow; a granddaughter, Ann Robinson; two great-grandchildren, James Corey Watts and Michael Ryan Watts; a great-great-grandson, Jordan Stuart Hicks.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Moore, David Fyke, Jay Frazier, Bobby Moore, Ray Johnson and Tommy Moore.

Sarah Elizabeth Jones
Sarah Elizabeth Jones, 82, of Cedar Hill died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel at the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Pendley officiating. Interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 7, 1919 in Robertson County to the late Morris T. and Polly Mason Draughon.
She was a homemaker and a member of Center Point Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband C.R. “Jim” Jones.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Ray Jones and John Morris Jones, both of Cedar Hill; one stepson, Richard W. Jones; one stepdaughter, Betty Anderson; one brother, Russell Draughon, all of Springfield; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Susie Louise Carter
Susie Louise Carter, 79, of Greenbrier, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home in Springfield.
Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carter was born April 13, 1922, to the late John and Abby Boyd Young.
She was a retired nurse for Springfield Health Care and the former Jesse Holman Jones Hospital. She was a member of the Cross Plains Seventh Day Adventist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edward Carter; a son, Donald Edward Carter, and a sister, Grace Jolly.
She is survived by three sons, Billy Ray Carter of Cross Plains, Horace Carter of Greenbrier, and Tommy Carter of Madison; four daughters, Mary Ann White of Smyrna, Peggy Curtis of Smithfield, Linda Carol Carter and Lela Kay Chowning, both of Greenbrier; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Paul Gordon Wilson
Paul Gordon Wilson, 71, of Springfield died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. James R. “Hap” Hewgley officiating.
Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Robertson County to the late James R. and Ethel Campbell Wilson
He was a retired service director for Barber Pontiac. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Greenbrier United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean conflict.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by a brother, Garnett Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Lerlene Edwards Wilson, son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Ginger Wilson, and a daughter and son-in-law, Lillie and Les Rossiter, all of Springfield; a brother, Marvin Wilson of Cross Plains; two sisters, Dorothy Sue Pitt of Coopertown and Lallie Lane of Goodlettsville, and three grandchildren, Robert Gordon Wilson, Craig Edward Rossiter and Chase Wilson Rossiter.
Pallbearers were Wayne Holman, Tommy Baggett, Tommy Wilson, Roger Lane, Tommy Mayes, Jimmy Dorris, Mark Pitt and Randy Lane. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Norman, Bill Grigsby and J.H. Taylor.

James Cecil Jackson
Services for James Cecil Jackson, 62, of Louisville, Ky. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Ky. with Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Interment will follow in Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Ky.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001 at Hospice and Palliative Care-Audubon, Louisville.
Born in Harlan County, Ky. on Aug. 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Sawyer Jackson and Geneva Creech.
He was a tow motor driver for General Electric. A Navy veteran, he was also a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina (Matt) Coomes of White House, Tenn. and Pam (David) Hainley of Long Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Marti McIntosh, Joy Simpson and Susan Handy, all of Shelbyville, Ky., and Lula Barnes of Camby, Ind.; his companion, Violet Wethington of Louisville, and five grandsons.
