Norman Bruce Mayes
Norman Bruce Mayes, 60, of Ridgetop, died at his home in Ridgetop.
Funeral services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. James “Hap” Hewgley.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Liebengood, Landon and Walter Scott, David Mayes, Richard Clark, Cliff Horn, and Bill Pruitt.
His parents were the late Homer Alton and Margaret Crawford Mayes.
Mr. Mayes was born in Robertson County and was a lifelong resident of the Greenbrier-Ridgetop area.
He was a member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church and was retired from E.I. Dupont Co. in Old Hickory where he worked in the Crystar.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Marjorie Woodworth Mayes of Ridgetop; daughters, Amanda Horn and Jacklynne Pruitt, both of Greenbrier, Amelia Clark of Goodlettsville, and Lisa Hand of Florida; sons, David Mayes of Greenbrier and Walter Scott of Cedar Hill; a brother, Thomas Mayes of Greenbrier; an aunt, Gleaver Belle Parker of Greenbrier; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Howard Aaron Bledsoe
Howard Aaron Bledsoe died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Bledsoe worked at AVCO.
He was a member of Goodlettsville Masonic Lodge.
The family lives in Goodlettsville.
Mr. Bledsoe is survived by two sons, Joe and John Bledsoe, and a granddaughter, Laiyah Bledsoe.
Funeral services were held Friday morning, May 31 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, White House, with Rev. Jerry Smotherman officiating.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville.

Tiney T. Bilyeu
Tiney T. Bilyeu, 85, of Springfield, died May 24, 2002, at Beverly Health Care.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Dean Linville and Rev. Kyle Slater officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bilyeu was born in Robertson County on Nov. 12, 1916, to the late Henry C. and Barbara Rawls Farmer.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bilyeu who died in 1992, grandchildren, John Ed Bilyeu Sr., Jason Glenn Bilyeu and Marie Burney.
Survivors include a son, Glenn E. Bilyeu; a daughter, Sue Joyce Burney; a sister, Lorene Clark; two grandchildren, Donna Sue Leavell and Mark Bilyeu, and two great-grandchildren, all of Springfield.

Margaret Ellen Dunn
Margaret Ellen Dunn, 81, of Springfield, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home in Maryville.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Farris Moore officiating.
Mrs. Dunn was born in Alamogordo, N.M., to the late Samuel E. and Abigail Brophy.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dunn Jr., who died Oct. 23, 2001, and a sister, Ruth Cooper Henry.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John R. Dunn III and Frances of Seymour, Tenn.; two grandchildren, John R. Dunn IV and Sarah Margaret Dunn, both of Seymour; two nephews, John C. Henry of Washington, D.C., and Robert E. Henry of Charlotte, N.C.

Thomas Kempf Osborne
Thomas Kempf Osborne, 68, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Hubert Cunningham officiating
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Robertson County on Feb. 2, 1934, to the late George Otis and Eva Holleman Osborne.
Mr. Osborne retired after 42 years of service from the City of Springfield and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Elmore Osborne; a daughter, Carol Osborne of Nashville; two step-sons, John Paul Harris and Jackie Morris Jr., both of Greenbrier; a sister, Vera Lemley of Springfield; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Mallie Mae Fryer
Mallie Mae Fryer, 91, of Springfield, died Thursday, May 30, 2002.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Jeff Fryer officiating.
Interment followed in Palestine Cemetery.
Mrs. Fryer was born in Robertson County to Richard and Susan Emma Browning Bracey.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hensley Fryer, who died in 1997.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Roberta Mae Spicer Harris
Roberta Mae Spicer Harris, 91, of Greenbrier, died Friday, May 31, 2002.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 3, at 11 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Swift and Rev. Verlon Moore officiating.
The interment followed in the Greenbrier Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Robertson County, to the late Burl Edward and Mamie McCroy Spicer.
She was a retired clerk-cashier from The Drug Store in Greenbrier.
She was a member of Light’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carney Harris.
She is survived by sons, Raymond C. Harris of Springfield, and Wayne M. Harris of Ridgetop; daughters, Judy H. Kirby of Hendersonville and SuAnne Bottoms of Greenbrier; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
