William Phillip Spicer
William Phillip Spicer, 54, of Cedar Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Jones officiating.
The interment followed in the Cheatham Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Spicer was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Robertson County to the late William Henry and Beulah Mae Phillips Spicer.
He was a carpenter.
Mr. Spicer is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bobby Rye of Springfield, Rhonda and Scott Burnette of Cedar Hill, and Nicole and Anthony Maynard of Antioch; brothers and sisters-in-law, David “Spanky” and Kathy Spicer of Pleasant View, and Kenneth and Teresa Spicer of Springfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Dunn of Clarksville, Ann and Ronnie Lee of Dickson, Kelly and Randy Allgood of Springfield; nine grandchildren.

Ross Junior Sloan
Ross Junior Sloan, 76, of Springfield, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Kellerman officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sloan was born June 26, 1926, in Davidson County to the late Wiley Stanton and Elnora Wilson Sloan.
He was a retired body shop foreman for Glover Auto Company and was a member of the Springfield Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Simmons Sloan of Springfield; a son, Jerry Lynn Sloan of Springfield; daughters, Liz Couts, Judy Hulsey and Wanda Poole, all of Springfield; a brother, Ben Sloan of Springfield; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the building fund of the Springfield Church of the Nazarene.

Timothy Lynn Mantlo
Timothy Lynn Mantlo, 39, of Franklin, Ky., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.
Burial followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Simpson County, son of Richard Arthur Mantlo of Springfield and Mary Joyce Carver of Franklin, Ky.
Mr. Mantlo attended the Living Waters Church of God of Prophecy and was a self-employed in electronic repair.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Mantlo of Franklin, Ky.; a son, Timothy Lynn Mantlo Jr. of Franklin, Ky.; a daughter, Amanda Mantlo of Franklin, Ky.; two sisters, Kathy Jane Burns of Springfield, and Donna Michille Richardson of Franklin, Ky.; a brother, Thomas Arthur Mantlo of Springfield; a half-brother, Richard Arthur Mantlo of Springfield; and a step-sister, Rena Mantlo of Springfield.

Reola Dawson
Reola Dawson, 65, died Nov. 29, 2002, at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 4 in Bellwood Cemetery in Adams.
She was born in Sumner County April 5, 1937, daughter of Henry William and Annie Ward Sailor Patrick.
She is survived by a brother, James Patrick of Nashville; sisters, Bessie Morgan of Oak Grove, Frances Hampton of Fairview; and Bertha Denton of Madison; and four grandchildren.

Anthony Joseph Schmitt
Anthony Joseph Schmitt, 88, died Nov. 29, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 3 at noon at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Joseph Desmond officiating.
Burial followed in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., June 11, 1914, the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Opfinger Schmitt.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred L. Schmitt of Adams; a son, Gene Lamb of Midwest City, Okla.; daughters, Barbara Ann Schmitt, Glenda Lemons of Watkinsville, Ga., Janette Wright of Oakland, and Loretta Lamb of Columbia; a sister, Marie V. Northup of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Janeen Woody
Janeen Woody, 67, of Kingston, Tenn., died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Chapel at Brown Funeral Home in Kingston with Rev. Mark Sherrod officiating.
Graveside services were held Sunday at Calvary-Hazelwood Cemetery in Kingston.
She was born in Winston Salem, N.C., and lived in Roane County for 45 years.
She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arliss Woody, and father, Judge Robert Arthur West, who served on the bench in Robertson County for several years.
She is survived by her mother, LaVergne Burnett West; of Springfield; a sister, Anita and brother-in-law, Henry Igon; a brother Robert West Jr. and sister-in-law, Connie, of Perdido Key, Fla., a niece and four nephews.

Ella Lee Richardson Hallman, 86, died Dec. 2, 2002, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 4 (today) at 2 p.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Adairville, Ky., with burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hallman was born May 13, 1916, daughter of William and Roseanna Fuqua Richardson in Logan County, Ky.
She is survived by her son, Dan Hallman; daughters, Delores Violett, and Shirley Thurtell Graydon, all of Adairville; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
