Sanford Danley “Sam” Howard, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 16 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Springfield, with Dr. Joseph Butler officiating.
Interment followed in the Mt. Denson Cemetery.
Mrs. Danley was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Robertson County to the late Josephus and Martha Sue Danley. He is also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a sister, Louise Traughber of Cedar Hill.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
Ruby G. Eidson
Ruby G. Eidson, 77, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 with Bro. Keith Barnett, Bro. William T. Richardson and Bro. Allen Smith officiating.
Active pallbearers were Jack Last, Corey Last, Earl Briley, Edward Eidson, Billy Cunningham, and Kenneth Rogers.
Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Guy Hutchison Smithson
Guy Hutchison Smithson, 77, of Centerville, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at the Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Paul Rogers and Rev. David Spencer officiating.
The interment will follow in the Nickell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 19 (today) from 2:30-8 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Mr. Smithson was born Jan. 26, 1926, in Centerville to the late Walter Lee and Georgia Anna Hutchison Smithson.
He was a dozer operator and a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in World War II.
Mr. Smithson was preceded in death by his wife, Era Mae Smithson, and by his son, David Totty Smithson.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Smith of Springfield and Sheri Story of Austin, Texas; sisters, Elizabeth Sawyer of Dickson and Sara Wilkins of Bellevue; and four grandchildren.

Glenna Ruth Reynolds
Glenna Ruth Reynolds, 83, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Elm Hurst Nursing Home.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Goodwin officiating.
The interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in White House.
Mrs. Reynolds was born May 10, 1919, in Robertson County to the late Crockett and Eva Simmons Baird.
She was retired from Acme Boot and was a member of the Eastland Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her husband, Connell Reynolds, and her grandson, Jimmy Neil Johnson.
She is survived by sons, Billy Reynolds of Goodlettsville, David Reynolds of Rockwood; daughters, Lillian Drake of Mt. Juliet, Wanda Johnson of White House, and Doris Ellis of Goodlettsville; brothers, Udell Baird of White House and Joe Miller Baird of Joelton; a sister, Martha Cowan of Greenbrier; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Charles Douglas Black
Charles Douglas Black, 63, of Cross Plains, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at the residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 19 (today) at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Alexander officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery.
Mr. Black was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Robertson County to the late Herschel Edgar and Minnie Scott Black.
He was a retired truck driver for Overnite Transportation and Oscar Mayer Foods.
He attended Milldale Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Dorothy Harris Black of Cross Plains; a son, Marty Black of Cross Plains; daughters, Chrisie Baird and husband, Michael, of Nashville, and Charlotte Simmons and husband, Stanley, of Orlinda; brothers, Hobert Black and wife, Glinna, of Hendersonville, Lloyd Black and wife, Beverly, James Black and wife, Judy, and Donnie Black and wife, Carol, all of Portland; sisters, Clarise Lehman and husband, George, of Portland, Ophelia Couts and Ella Black, both of Springfield; Mary Pat Roberts and husband, Terry, of Franklin, Ky.; grandchildren, Alex Baird, Kaitlin Gammon, T.C. and Amber Swann; and three step-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Milldale Presbyterian Church or to South Haven Christian School.

Joseph Jeremy Mink
Joseph Jeremy Mink, 22, of Millersville, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 19 (today) at 11:30 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Shawhan officiating.
The interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
He was born Jan. 30, 1981, in Davidson County,
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mink.
Mr. Mink is survived his mother, Martha Cox Mink of Springfield; a son, Charles Austin Mink of Millersville; fiance’, Emily Rippy of Millersville; brothers, John Mink of Nashville, and Dustin Cox of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Beatrice Nettles of Orlando, Fla.

Willie M. Polk
Willie M. Polk, 93, of Springfield died Feb. 11, 2003, at the residence of her daughter, Evelyn Finch, in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Cedar Hill with Elder Ben Dillard officiating.
Burial followed at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill.
Mrs. Polk was born in Cedar Hill to the late Ned and Marandi Trotter.
She was a member of Frierson Chapel Church in Coopertown under the pastorate of Rev. W.D. Frierson. She later joined Antoich Missionary Baptist Church after her marriage.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Polk, and first husband, James E. Washington, and a sister, Esther McDuffie, two children, Natalie and Mattie, and a step-son, James Polk.
Survivors include her children, Emma Fields (Carl), Esther Gardner (James), Evelyn Finch (Samuel), William Washington (Sonya), Floretta Pullum (William), of Springfield, Jimmie Cantrell of Atlanta, Ga., Charles “N.T.” Washington (Agnes) of Albuquerque, N.M.; 33 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
