Minerva Elizabeth Ford
Minerva Elizabeth Porter Ford, 90, of Springfield, died at Beverly Healthcare Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Rick Muchewicz and Jack Goodwin officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Robertson County Sept. 25, 1914, to the late Ed and Nannie Lou Pitt Porter.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ford; brothers, Foster Porter and Belton Porter.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Belton P. and Patricia Ford of Springfield, James P. and Frances Ford of Greenbrier; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers for the service was Michael Ford, Mark Ford, Randy Ford, Tony Porter, Tim Hinkle, Raymond Pulley and Jeff Odom.
Memorials may be made to NorthCrest Hospice.

Allen Michael Carter
Allen Michael Carter, 15, of Allensville, Ky., died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.
Burial will follow in the Jake Link Cemetery.
He was born in Robertson County Oct. 11, 1989, to Melissa Ann Carter of Allensville, Ky. and the late David Taylor Frazier.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Ashley Carter of Allensville, Ky.

Martha Jean Gower
Martha Jean Gower, 79, of Pleasant View, died at NHC Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Paul Purdue officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Gower.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Gower of Springfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Lynn and Ron Anderson of Pleasant View, Vicki and Ronnie Brooks of Springfield; brother, John Howard Rawls of Greenbrier; sisters, Virginia Baldwin of Springfield, Ruth Frey of Springfield; five grandchildren, Kelly King, Jeremy Baldwin, Jack DeBerry, Jennifer Gower and Joey Gower; and five great-grandchildren.

Oswin Benito Canseco
Oswin Benito Uriate Canseco, a/k/a Ricardo Cortes, 21, died Oct. 16, 2004 in Springfield.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Burial followed in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Mr. Canseco was born Dec. 28, 1982, the son of Benito Uriarte Santos and Manuela Canseco Gomez.
He had worked as a machine operator at Atwood Mobile Products in Springfield.
Survivors include four siblings.

Alonzo Scott
Alonzo Scott, 83, of Springfield died Oct. 23, 2004, at Beverly Health Care Center.
Remains are at V. E. Parham & Son Funeral Home with visitation Thursday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the chapel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Townsend officiating.
Burial will be Friday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Scott Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., Joe Ross, Robert Scott, both of Springfield, and Alonzo Scott Jr. of Gallatin; three brothers, Myles Scott of Nashville, Herbert Scott of Fordyce, Ark., Clarence Ellis of Springfield; and a devoted niece, Deborah Jones; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mack Edwards
Mack Edwards, 76, of Franklin, Ky., died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery with Military Honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Cross Plains.
He was the son of the late Roy Mack Edwards and the late Annie Carver Wilson.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Edwards and a sister, Mildred Maupin.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie E. Ford and husband Mike of Franklin, Ky., and Susan Dinkens and fiancé, Frankie Law of Franklin, Ky.; a son, Kevin Edwards and wife, Donna of Adairville, Ky.; four grandsons, Michael Ford and Stephanie, Kyle Dinkens and Heather, Kelly Dinkens and Brittney, all of Franklin, Ky., and Zachary Edwards of Adairville, Ky.; a step-grandson, Wesley Palmore of Springfield; and two great-grandsons, Logan Ford and Kaleb Dinkens of Franklin, Ky.
Mr. Edwards was a member of McKendree Chapel Church and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, as a mechanic.
He worked as a paint and body man for Massey Motor Co., and also Wakefeild and Raines in Franklin, Ky. He also worked for Ky. Silo and Equipment Co., building silos.
His hobbies included gardening, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

Phillip Ewing Yates
Phillip Ewing Yates, 65, of Clarksville, died Oct. 18, 2004.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home with John Maltais officiating.
Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Yates was born to the late James William Yates and Ida Clark Yates. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Hupp, and a grandchild Brandon Yates.
He was a tow motor driver.
Survivors include sons, Phillip Wayne Yates and Jeffrey Mark Yates, both of Adams; a daughter, Teresa Kay Binkley of Pleasant View; brothers, William Yates of Indianapolis, Ind., and Marvin Yates of Costa Rica; a sister, Betty Sue Waters of Clarksville; grandchildren, Daryl Yates, Kevin Yates, Aaron Yates, Ashley Yates, Shawna Taylor, Michael Yates, Kayla Yates, Justin Yates, Tiffany Binkley and Taylor Binkley.
Pallbearers were David Moore, Carney Hodges, Freddie Brooks, Andrew Collins, David Wells and John Bigg.
