Billy Phillips Wilkerson
Billy Phillips Wilkerson, 71, of Springfield, died at NorthCrest Medical Center Aug. 21, 2004.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Dr. Joseph Butler and Rev. Fred Schott officiating.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday (tonight) from 4 to 8 p.m.
Entombment will be in Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Robertson County Sept. 11, 1932, to the late Francis Marion and Mary Gladys Phillips Wilkerson.
Mr. Wilkerson is the retired owner-operator of Restlawn Memorial Gardens and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Allen and Terry Wilkerson of Burlison, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Wilkerson Cochran of Newnam, Ga., Deborah Ann Schmitz of Fullerton, Calif., Denise Renee and David Woodhouse of Diamond Beach, Calif.; a sister, Joy Wilkerson of Springfield; six grandchildren Jordan Alexander Cochran, Andrew Cochran, Amber Chambers, Christopher Woodhouse, Kristy Schmitz and Justin Sauer; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Edward Clinard, Dean Arnold, David L. Smith, Rodney Blakemore, Paul Shoulders, Gary Phillips, Thomas Holman and Clifton “Coop” Gupton.

Norma “Nana” Ray Watson Sautter
Norma “Nana” Watson Sautter, 66, of Orlinda, died at her home Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004.
Visitation with the family will begin at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday evening, Aug. 27.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield Saturday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Lowery officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Sautter was born Oct. 5, 1937, in Nashville to the late Ray and Catherine Worsham Watson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Walter R. and Icy R. Sautter of Orlinda; three grandchildren, Bubba R. Sautter, Jennifer R. Mitchell and Ashley R. Sautter; two great-grandchildren, Christopher R. Sautter and Blake W. “Froggie” Mitchell.

Catherine Lucille Key
Catherine Lucille Key, 77, of Springfield, died at Beverly Healthcare Monday, Aug. 23, 2004.
Visitation with the family will be today, Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield Thursday, Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. with Bro. Mike Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Key was born in Portland Aug. 8, 1927, to the late William and Bertha Trout Graves.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Hayden Cain Key; a son, Michael Key; and daughter, Wanda McKinney.
Survivors include sons, Gene (Shirley) Key of Portland, Wayne (Doris) Key of Ridgetop, Ronnie (Lori) Key of Springfield, Wesley (Laurie) Key of White House, Robert (Gail) Key of Springfield; daughters, Sherry (Kenneth) Gay, Dianne (Eddie) Barrow, Phyllis Sue (Tim) Kelly, Connie Dean of Springfield, Wendy (Larry) Key of Mayfield, Ky., Vanessa Starks of Springfield, Janet Key of Springfield; sister, Ann McCully of Portland; 24 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Ozie Holman Adams
Ozie Holman Adams, 93, of Springfield, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at NHC Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Woodard and Rev. Willard Darwimple officiating.
Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Ky.
Mrs. Adams was born April 22, 1911 in Creedmore, N.C. to the late John Thomas and Mary Wilmoth Porter Holman.
She was a homemaker and a member of Stevenson Methodist Church.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie B. Adams.
She is survived by a son, Bruce Adams of Springfield; two daughters, Nancy Cook and Mae McCraw, both of Springfield; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

William Albert “A.J.” Johnson Jr.
William Albert "A.J." Johnson Jr., 52, of the Barren Plains community in Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Joe Hinkle and Pastor Brad Shockley officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 3, 1952 in Robertson County to Margaret Martin Johnson of Springfield and the late William Albert "Doug" Johnson.
He had served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. He was a farmer and the owner of Barren Plains BBQ at the time of his death.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson of Springfield; a son Mark (Penny) Johnson of Springfield; a daughter Lisa (Chris) Flake of Springfield; a brother, Terry Johnson of Springfield; and grandchildren, Carson and Connor Flake and Ally Johnson.

Kenny H. Vogle
Kenny H. Vogle, 29, of Adams, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital following a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Malcolm Grizzle and Brother Frank Kirby officiating.
Interment will follow in Bellwood Cemetery.
Mr. Vogle was born Nov. 9, 1974 in Robertson County.
He was a farmer and a 1993 graduate of Jo Byrns High School.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wallace and Geneva Vogle, and Tom and Nellie Browning.
Mr. Vogle is survived by his parents, Raymond and Judy Browning Vogle; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Jacqulyn Vogle, and a special niece, Kali Ann Vogle, all of Adams.

Virginia Nicholson Martin
Virginia Nicholson Martin, “Jenny” or “Aunt Jenny” age 89, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at Hillcrest West in Knoxville.
She was born in Pleasant View April 18, 1915.
She is preceded in death by son, Jerry Dan Martin; four sisters, Sally Watts, Bea Mosely, Pauline Moore Heathman, and Elise Webb; six brothers, Cooper, J.D., Joe, Bob Taylor, Bud and Doc Nicholson; former husband, Herbert N. Martin; parents, Dee and Alice Nicholson; granddaughter, Angela Martin.
Survivors include daughters, June Alley of Alcoa, Patrice and husband Gary Smith of Powell; sons, Maurice and wife Libby Martin, Gary D. Martin, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Lisa Shouse of Knoxville, Dan Gray of Louisville, Jerry Martin, Michael Martin, Joe Martin, all of Knoxville, Lora Hazelwood of Del Ray Beach, Florida, Ginger Saffles of Knoxville, Leslie Cross of Knoxville, and Rachel Smith of Powell; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother, Nat Nicholson of Murfreesboro; special friends, Jimmy and Elvana Pasquals of Florida and Anita Moore of Knoxville.
