Gene Pinson
Gene Pinson, 60, of White House, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. David Earl Harper and Mike Taylor officiating.
Interment followed in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.
He was born June 3, 1943, in Robertson County.
Mr. Pinson was a Mason, and operator for the Clarksville Department of Electricity.
He also loved farming and riding motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Pinson and a sister, Patsy Shrum.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Pinson Jones of Springfield; sons, Nicky (Donna) Pinson of Springfield, and Stacy (Marla) Knight of Cross Plains; a daughter, Gina (Richie) Osborne of Springfield; a brother Lanny (Glenda) Pinson of Portland; a sister, Judy (Troy) Hand of Springfield; grandchildren, Brandon Pinson, Chris Osborne, Preston Knight and Morgan Knight.

Ida Mae Sepp
Ida Mae Sepp, 85, of Allensville, Ky., died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at her home.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. in Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington, with Dr. Mack Wayne Craig officiating.
She was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Pearl River County in Carriere, Miss., to the late Alfred Inman and Ruby Stockstill Byrd.
Mrs. Sepp was a homemaker and a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville, where she taught Sunday School for 27 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude H. Sepp and by a daughter, Claudia Mae Sepp.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Dick Wenzel of Allensville, Ky.; a brother, Pete Byrd of Abilene, Texas; a sister, Byrd Vines of Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Dr. E. Ross Smith Jr. and wife, Bizz, Reid Smith and wife Natalie and Ryan Smith and wife, Tatum.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Cordell Butrum
Cordell Butrum, 84, died in Chicago, Ill., Monday, Jan. 26, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 31 with Dr. David Leavell officiating.
He was born May 5, 1919, in Springfield to the late Walter and Minnie King Butrum.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Chilton, a son, Harold Draper, a daughter, Betty Draper and two brothers.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Butrum of Old Hickory; a daughter, Frances Butrum of Chicago; a brother, Virgil Butrum of Greenbrier; a sister, Beatrice Walton of Springfield; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Edith Inez King
Mrs. Edith Inez King, 78, of Ridgetop, died at Alive Hospice in Nashville Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 1 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Pastor Bob Korzyniowski officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. King was born in Murfreesboro Nov. 6, 1926, to the late Julius and Scoff Stewart Hollandsworth.
Survivors include her husband, Ted H. King of Ridgetop; sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Nancilyn King of Greenbrier, Barry and Donna King of Ridgetop; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Altie Martin of Ridgetop.
Pallbearers for the service were J.P. King, Richard King, Mike Jenks, Jason King, Pat Jenks and Lynne Jenks.

Sarah Norton Long Brown
Sarah Norton Long Brown, 89, died Jan. 27, 2004.
Funeral services were held Friday at First United Methodist Church in Springfield at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Hutchinson, Rev. Jeff Fryer and Dr. Farris Moore officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Dyersburg on Aug. 23, 1914, to the late Henry Fowlkes and Mattie Clark Tipton Norton.
She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she received a BA degree in 1936.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the Official Board and as a trustee, along with serving as president of United Methodist Women.
Her other community services were as Regent of Charlotte Reeves Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Trustee of Gorham MacBane Library, president of Robertson County U.T. Alumni Chapter, Board of Directors of Cumberland Valley Girl Scout Council, president of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, and as president of the Short Story Club.
She was married to John R. Long Jr. for 39 years. Mr. Long dies in 1977.
She is also preceded in death by a grandson, John Long Marks.
She later married Jordan Stokes Brown. They were married 14 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Patricia M. Long of Bethesda, Md.; daughters, Susan Long Marks of Clarksville, and Virginia Sory Brown of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Patch Marks, Michael Mataset Long, Brian Mataset Long and Evelyn Ann Smith.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Brown are Jimbo Long, John L. Bourne, John W. Clinard, Joe Gaston, Andy Cunningham, Bill Tankersley and Bob DeBerry.

Coleman Prentice Clark
Coleman Prentice Clark, 82, died Feb. 2, 2004.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Tommy Ferguson officiating.
Mr. Clark was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Montgomery County to the late Walter and Eunice Young Clark.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Birchfield Clark, a daughter, Susan Beth Clark, four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a son, Donald Coleman of Nashville and a daughter, Paula Posey of Lebanon; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Holman Lane
Dorothy Holman Lane, 85, died suddenly Jan. 27, 2004, after a short illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 21 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.
She was a 28-year employee of Cumberland Electric Membership Cooperative.
She is preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Janith Lane Tackett.
During World War II, she proudly served her country at Vultee Aircraft as a “Rosie the Riveter.”
Survivors include her devoted family, a brother, Thomas I. Holman of Hilton Head, S.C.; a son, Joe McMurry Lane of Knoxville; a daughter, Lanita Lane Shea of Nashville; grandchildren, Holly Tackett Blankenship of Wilmington, N.C., Jeffrey Lane of Boulder, Colo., Valerie Lane of Knoxville, Christopher Shea of Bloomfield, N.J., Brandon Shea of Nashville, Ryan Shea of Seattle, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Blankenship, and Aidan Shea, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
