Mary Bell Goodwin
Mary Bell Goodwin, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday Jan. 24 at 1:30 p.m. with Sonny Gibson officiating.
Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Church of Christ and was a shining example of the virtuous woman, “Her price is far above rubies.” Prov. 31:10.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Goodwin, a daughter, Shirley Fisher and a son, Paul Goodwin.
Survivors include daughters, Betty (Sonny) Gibson and Linda Osteen Setser; daughter-in-law, Barbara Goodwin; son-in-law, Morris Fisher; brothers, Ed, James and Terrell Bullard; sisters, Francis Hannah, Bea Ceiger and Patti Jones; 10 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty Dailey
Betty Duncan Dailey, 65, of Greenbrier, died at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio Monday, Jan. 19, 2004.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Springfield with Rev. Jody McCullah and Bro. Al Thompson officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Dailey was born in Robertson County Nov. 15, 1938, to the late Ernest Orndorff and Lucy Jean Thompson Duncan.
She was well-known for her civic work in the Springfield community as well as serving as the director of the Gorham-McBane Library.
She is preceded in death by a son, Michael Duncan Dailey; two brothers, Samuel Duncan and Daniel Duncan.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Clifton Dailey; two sons, Randy Lee Dailey and Bruce Allen Dailey, all of Greenbrier; mother-in-law, Dorothy Dailey of Springfield; an aunt, Ruth Dixon of Springfield; and a cousin Jerry and Dixie Dixon of Greenbrier.
Pallbearers were Tommy Baggett, Jerry Baggett, Howard Bradley, Rick Gregory, Paul Nutting and Ricky Krisle.
Honorary pallbearers were the Board of Directors and employees of the Gorham-McBane Library.
The family requests memorials be made to Wartrace United Methodist Church or to the Gorham-McBane Library.

Stevie Cook
Stevie Cook, 48, of Gallatin, formerly of Springfield, died Jan. 20, 2004, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. at 19th Avenue Church of Christ in Springfield with Bro. Maurice Conner officiating.
Burial followed in Restlawn Cemetery, Cedar Hill.
He was born May 1, 1955, the son of the late Zelmo Cook and Emma Lee Pitt.
He married Lillie Bell Head and to this union a son was born.
He later married Brenda Pointer, who preceded him in death.
He obeyed the Gospel at 19th Avenue Church of Christ at an early age, where he led song service at the church while he lived in Springfield.
After moving to Nashville, he often visited different congregations.
Survivors include his mother, Emma Lee Pitt of Springfield; three sons, Carlos (Nicole) Cook of Nashville, Cedrick Cook of Indianapolis, Ind., Stevie Lynn Jr. of Springfield; three daughters, Joanna (Dorris) Barksdale, Courtney and Christina Cook of Nashville; a sister, Sabrina (Eugene) Ellis of Springfield; a foster brother, Willie J. Richmond of Sparta; seven grandchildren; a host of cousins and many other family connections.

Thomas W. Huber
Thomas W. Huber, 69, of Madison, died at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
He was cremated.
He is preceded in death by his father, Orville Huber, and a son, Stewart Huber.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Hardin; sons, Stephen A. Huber of Madison and Micheal A. Waters of Dibold, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jennie Farmer White
Jennie Farmer White, 69, of Nashville, formerly of Springfield, died Jan. 22, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at Banks Chapel United Methodist Church in Springfield with Rev. William Dobbins.
Burial followed at Bank Chapel Cemetery.
She was born April 28, 1934, in Davidson County to the late Smith and Esther Farmer.
She was educated in Springfield and was a proud graduate of Bransford High School Class of 1952.
She was retired from the State of Tennessee Govenor’s residence in 2000.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Joe Willie Farmer and a sister, Lois Jones.
Jennie was a devoted and faithful member of Banks Chapel United Methodist Church where she held various positions. She loved her church where family and friends came together to worship and praise our God.
Survivors include two devoted daughters, Regina (Billy) Phillips, Delphia Lucas, both of Nashville; a Goddaughter, Anita (Todd) Fitzgerald of Hermitage; three devoted grandchildren, Christopher Lucas, Heather Phillips and Jennifer Penn, all of Nashville; four great-grand-children, Jamie, Ker’era, Natajah and Damion, all of Nashville; a sister, Joan Hardin of Springfield; two uncles, Carl Cole of Nashville, James Oliver Cole of Detroit, Mich., devoted cousins, James, Ethel, Bill and Geraldine Farmer; special friends, Curtis and Louise Holland, Fannie Green and Sonora Russell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Maggie Murphy
Maggie Murphy, 86, of Springfield, died Jan. 25, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 7 p.m., at First Missionary Baptist Church, Jan. 28 (today) with Rev. Martin Winslow officiating.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29.
Survivors include two brothers, L.C. Darden and Homer Darden, both of Springfield; and a sister, Emma Chapman of Springfield.

Jerry Wayne Pitt
Jerry Wayne Pitt, 55, of Springfield, died Jan. 20, 2004, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m., Jan. 24 at Townsend Grove Baptist Church with Rev. James Glover officiating.
Burial followed in Townsend Grove Community Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pitt of Springfield; a son, Jeffrey Pitt of Springfield; two daughters, Rita Pitt of Atlanta, Ga., Daniala Bratton of Portland; three brothers, Kenneth Elliott of Raleigh, N.C., James Bruce Elliott of Sprinfield, and Vincent Elliott of California; two sisters, Sibyl Wilson of Springfield and Scarlet Leavell of Springfield; a devoted aunt, Catherine Gardner; and one grandchild.
