Buford Howard Dickerson
Buford Howard Dickerson, 79, of Springfield, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Mr. Dickerson was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Robertson County.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Lamberth Dickerson.
Survivors include his wife, Della Mary Hall Dickerson of Springfield.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sherry Ann Thaxton
Sherry Ann Thaxton, 48, of Greenbrier, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Skyline Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Jones, Rev. Diane Coppock, Rick Highsmith and Dickie Stewart officiating.
The interment followed in Palestine Cemetery.
Mrs. Thaxton was born Oct. 21, 1955, in Robertson County.
She was a retired secretary from Springfield High School and a member of Palestine United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Thaxton was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Thaxton, brothers, Michael Thomas and George Thomas Jr.
Survivors include her husband, E. Wayne Thaxton of Greenbrier; daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Shane Claborn of Springfield; a brother, Terry Thomas of Cross Plains; parents, George and Betty Fryer Thomas of Springfield; grandchildren, Kelsey Thaxton, Dalton Thaxton and Lacey Claborn.
The family requests donations be made to a trust fund for Mrs. Thaxton’s grandchildren. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sherry Dean Vick
Sherry Dean Vick, 56, of Springfield, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Mickey Austin officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Vick was born March 4, 1947, in Detroit, Mich.
She was a machinist with IBP in Goodlettsville and was a Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Hayes Pile.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Vick Jr. of Springfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Juanita Crawley of New Port Richie, Fla., Mike and Kelly Robinson of Springfield, and David Ray Vick of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and James Redfern of Springfield; a brother, Roger Crawley of Springfield; father, Chester Crawley of Scottsville, Ky.; grandchildren, Amber Slides, Dakota Crawley, Michael Crawley, Matthew Pointer, Joseph Pointer, Stevie Redfern; great grandchild, Andrew Crawley.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gary S. Morris
Gary S. Morris, 62, died Sunday evening, Dec. 7, 2003, at his home.
Private graveside services will be held for the family Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
A service of remembrance will be conducted at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Wednesday (today) afternoon at 2 p.m. with Dr. Bill Owen officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Johnson Morris of Cross Plains; daughters, Tracy (Brian) Cockcroft of Cross Plains, and Emilea Morris of Greenbrier; a sister, Ruby Marsh; and three grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Clare Tolleson Hamman
Clara Tolleson Winner Hamman, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Visitation with the family was held Tuesday evening at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
No services were planned for Mrs. Hamman.
She was born in California March 2, 1931, to the late Clarence and Livian Firesheets.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Harmon of Springfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Jug Ju Winner of Louisville, Ky., and Andrew and Julia Winner of Bowling Green, Ky.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and John Carnahan of Greenbrier, Wanda and William Franklin of Donelson; and four grandchildren, Kieran Winner, Elizabeth Ellison, Katherine Winner and Hannah Winner.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Craven Barrs
Craven Barrs, 73, formerly of Orangeburg, S.C. died Wednesday evening, Dec. 3, 2003, at Hendersonville Hospital.
He was cremated.
Mr. Barrs was a life member of Progress Lodge 352 F & AM Orangeburg and a member of Omar Shrine Temple.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bandy Barrs.
Survivors include his mother, Katie O’Quinn Barrs of Orangeburg; wife, Leola Templeton Barrs; a son, Michael (Connie) Barrs; grandchildren, Jonathan Michael and Mary Frances Barrs, all of White House; brothers, Carl V. Barrs of Goose Creek, S.C., and Mayfield Barrs of Orangeburg, S.C.
Funeral arrangements were made by Austin & Bell Funeral Homes.

Ralph Clayton Baxter
Ralph Clayton Baxter, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. with Bob Jared officiating, and a special remembrance given by Bro. Tony Lain.
Visitation was Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
Burial followed in Gideon Cemetery.
He was a member of Gideon Methodist Church, a member of 753 Masonic Lodge, a Scottish Rites member and Al Menah Shrine Temple.
He was a retired from Metro Board of Education with 40 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye Warren Baxter; a daughter, Pamela (Mark) Thomas, a dear and loving granddaughter, Bettye (Jason) Dye; two great-grandsons, Clayton and Brandon Dye; granddaughter, Danyale (Ralphel) Tonche, Jacqueline Elizabeth and Lorenzo Tonche; a sister, Gertrude (Wayne) Toombs; a brother, Grafton (Mary Jean) Baxter; sisters-in-law, Elsie L. Baxter, Wilda Rose Lain; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service were Scott Lain, Dickie Lain, Brian Escue, Randy Binkley, Devone Baxter, Douglas Baxter, Sherman Kinnard Jr., and Vernon Escue.
Memorials may be made to Shrine Children’s Hospital or the Gideon United Methodist Church building and paving fund.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
