Carl Baker Holmes
Carl Baker Holmes, 76, of Greenbrier, died at his home Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Dr. Bill Owen and Rev. Denny Burchett officiating.
Interment was in Cross Plains Cemetery.
Dr. Holmes was born in Cross Plains June 1927, to the late Carl Bedford Homes and Robbye Patterson Holmes.
Dr. Holmes was a retired dentist and served in the United States Army.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four daughters; and five grandchildren.

Charles James Kelley
Charles James Kelley, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, with Dr. David Leavell officiating.
Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Kelley, a CPA was retired from the City of Springfield where he served as office manager.
Survivors include his wife, June Carlisle Kelley of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Phyllis Kelley of Springfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and David Holmes of Lexington; grandchildren, Joey and Trish Pipes, Kris Kelley, Brandie Kelley, great-grandchild, Lacie Dyer; sisters, Virginia Lee Hadden and Josephine Frances Hinton, both of Clarksville.
Pallbearers for the service were Kris Kelley, Joey Pipes, Rickey Hayes, Dr. Warren Hayes, Don Nicholson, Jim Taylor, Harold White, Don Williams and Walter McCauley.

Gary Lee Bentley
Gary Lee Bentley, 50, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Memorial services were held Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Greenbrier Methodist Church with Rev. Hap Hewgley officiating.
Mr. Bentley was born Jan. 22, 1953, in Flint, Mich.
He was an advertising photographer and held a Bachelor of Arts degree.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Byron Dean and Alice Fannie Bentley.
Survivors include his wife, Sonja Bentley of Springfield; a son, Joseph Bentley; five daughters, Brooke Bentley, Kristen Bentley, Lisa Bentley, Sara Bentley and Amy Bentley, all of Greenbrier; four sisters, Aldeana Houlihan of Winchester, Deborah Vradenburgh of Mohawk, Robin Henry of Warsaw, Ind., and Kimberly Dies of Shelby Township, Mich.
The family requests memorials be made to either Greenbrier Methodist Church or to the Memorial Scholarship Fund at Greenbrier High School.

Rebecca Cook
Rebecca Cook, 75, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Slater officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cook was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Springfield, to the late Emmett and Jennie Pike McEwing.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred William Cook Sr., a daughter, Brenda Griffey, and sisters, Martha Williams and Linda Faye Walton.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Walter E. and Lyn Martin of Springfield, Danny Ray and Mitzi Cook of Terre Haute, Ind., Fred William Cook Jr. of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Terry Sparks of Greenwood, Ind.; a brother, Billy McEwing of Springfield; sisters, Mary E. Pugh of Nashville, Maurice Lane of Millersville; sister-in-law, Sharon Cook of Shelburne, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Harrell Don Balthrop
Harrell Don Balthrop, 74, of Pleasant View, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Joel Jones officiating.
Interment followed in Wilson Cemetery.
He was born in Springfield April 30, 1929, to the late Jordan and Della Hudgens Balthrop.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Cleveland Balthrop.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Merry Balthrop of Pleasant View, Don Balthrop of Springfield, Troy and Sandra Balthrop of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ralph Geralds of Bethpage; sisters, Nannie Walker of Pleasant View and Lillian Binkley of Joelton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service were Jeff Adcox, Chris Bowling, Dan Ayers, Gilford Walker, Jessie Wayne Head, Jimmie Binkley, Chris Cowan and Josh Dunivan.

Amanda Renee Kaylor
Amanda Renee Kaylor, 22, died at Vanderbilt Medical Center Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 76 E., near White House.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8 in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Dr. Bill Palmiter officiating.
Interment followed in Greenbrier Cemetery.
She was born in Davidson County Nov. 15, 1981, to Tony Lynn Kaylor and Renata Hooper Woolbright.
Survivors, in addition, to her parents, include her grandparents, Willliam and Lettie Bryan of Greenbrier; a son, Darean Wayne Louis Parrish of Greenbrier; fiancée, Eddie Wayne Parrish of Greenbrier; step-father, Earl Hooper Woolbright Jr.

James Gilbert Davenport
James Gilbert Davenport, 70, of Adams, died at his residence Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Chuck Cato and Rev. Parker Chancellor.
Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born in Nashville Jan. 31, 1933 to the late James and Janie Perry Davenport.
Mr. Davenport was a retired mechanic from Dobbs Ford in Memphis.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Sullivan Davenport of Adams; sons, Jimmy Davenport of Nashville; a step-son, Reginal Tucker of Antioch; daughters, Patrica Owens of Georgia and Lavonee Davenport of Florida; a step-daughter, Teresa Barry of Franklin; brother, Jerry Peek of Springfield; two sisters, Gracie Wheeler of Texas and Faye Burke of Antioch; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wayne Wheeler, Joe Heatherly, Mike Burke, Burton Dugger, Charles Perry and Tommy Vick.
