Onie L. West Soapes
Onie L. West Soapes, 83, of Russellville, Ky., died at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003.
Funeral services were held in Austin & Bell Adairville Chapel Thursday, Nov. 13 with Bro. Tommy Marsh officiating.
Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Soapes was born March 12, 1920, in Robertson County to the late James C. and Lena Briley Parks.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. West, and two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include a son, Johnny L. and Debbie West of Adairville, Ky.; a daughter, Deborah C. Smith of Greenbrier; brothers, James “Bud” Parks of Nashville and Donald Parks of Russellville, Ky.; five grandchildren, Douglas Cropper, Krystal Gunderson, Laura Gavarah, Jennifer West, and Troy Arnold.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Lottie Clara Mann
Lottie Clara Mann, 88, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Beverly Health Care in Springfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 16 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Kyle Slater officiating.
Interment was in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Mann was born in Simpson County, Ky., Feb. 9, 1915, to the late Neal and Mary Lavinia Clayton Summers.
She was a retired sales clerk with Terry Bros. in Cookeville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Mann, a brother, and four sisters.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Tanya Mann of Nashville and Wayne and Sue Mann of Old Hickory; five grandchildren, Dr. Teresa Mann, Lucinda Gerlitz, Leslie Mann, Brian Mann and Paul Mann; a sister, Lillian McGill of Springfield; and three great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

James Lee Mooneyhan
James Lee Mooneyhan, 72, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at his home following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. with Norman Slate officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
The interment followed at Jake Link Cemetery.
He was a retired mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Virginia Mooneyhan and his wife, Evelyn Louise Mooneyhan.
Survivors include daughters, Donna McElhiney and Joyce Kay Graves; sons, James Aunar, Charles Ray, Michael Wayne Mooneyhan; and 13 grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Belle Grubbs
Mary Belle Grubbs, 99, of Greenbrier, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. James Parker and Bro. Norman Slate officiating.
Burial followed at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Grubbs was born in Sumner County June 27, 1904, to the late William S. and Lizzie Ann Goosetree Cook.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie E. Grubbs.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Clifford Avrit of Portland and Dortha and James Thompson of Old Hickory; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Charles Henry Callis
Charles Henry Callis, 85, of Greenbrier, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Fred Baldwin officiating.
Burial followed in Greenbrier Cemetery.
Mr. Callis was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran serving in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was born in Greenbrier May 8, 1918, to the late James Henry and Nannie Luella Zink Callis.
He is also preceded in death by a brother, David Martin Callis and a sister, Mamie Briggs and a nephew, Mike Callis.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lee Simmons Callis of Greenbrier; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Robyn Callis of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Robert Hall of Springfield; two grandchildren, Robert Alan Hall Jr. and Charles Joseph Draughon; a nephew, Jimmy Callis.
Pallbearers for the service included Sammy Patton, David Glenn, Tony Cobb, Robert Hall, Bobby Hall and Larry Simmons.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Willmore
Ruby Willmore, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. with Ralph Kidd and James Parker officiating.
Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were L.D. Sircy, John Claiborne, Allen Butler, Jerry Callis, Bill Carrol and Howard Wilkinson.
Survivors include sons, Maxie R. and Clifford Wilkinson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Ida McClusky; brothers, Luther and Howard Ragland.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

George Ray Laughlin
George Ray Laughlin, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at his home in Springfield.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield, with Rev. E. Thomas Vann and Rev. Don Hutchinson officiating.
Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers for the service were John Carothers, Robert Dodd, Kevin Gilbert, Warren Hays, Robert Martin and Mark Simon.
Mr. Laughlin held a Master’s degree in Geological Engineering and was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers in Nashville after several years of service.
He also served in the U.S. Navy.
He was born Oct. 29, 1922, in New Albany, Ind., to the late George Jacob and Beatrice Quinn Laughlin.
He is also preceded in death by a sister, Sue O’Connell.
Survivors include his wife, of 51 years, Juanita Lansdale Laughlin of Springfield; a daughter, Lynn Ray Laughlin of Nashville; sisters, Katherine Curlin of Washington, D.C., and Mary McGrath of Biloxi, Miss.; several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial donations be made to The Jim Porter Sunday School Class, First United Methodist Church, or to the Nature Conservatory, all in care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 509 Walnut St., Springfield, TN 37172.
