John Scott, 76, of Springfield, died at NorthCrest Medical Center July 28, 2004.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31 at 1 p.m. at Faith Apostolic Church with Elder Robert Gardner Jr. officiating.
Burial followed at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Scott of Springfield; four sons, Perry L. Scott of California, Ricky Scott, Daniel C. Scott (Davida), and Gary Scott, all of Springfield; four daughters, Mary Forte, Katherine Scott, Alberta Scott and Gloria Scott, all of Springfield; two brothers, Samuel Scott of Nashville, and Lewis Scott of St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Rachel B. Jones
Rachel B. Jones, 46, of Springfield, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 2 at 1 p.m. at First Seventh Day Adventist Church with Rev. Daryel McGarnett officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Cedar Hill.
Mrs. Jones was born March 27, 1958 in Louisville, Ky., to R.B. and Mary Katherine Thomas.
In 1978, she married Joey Raymond Jones and they had three children. She was a member of First Seventh Day Adventist Church in Springfield.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughters Keesha (William) Jones, Ebony (Patrick) Jones, and Yetta (Marcus) Jones, all of Springfield; six grandchildren, Malcolm, Dominic, Conesha, Zykiria, Demarcus and Dae'Shaun, all of Springfield; four brothers, Robert Thomas Nathaniel Thomas, both of Louisville, Clark Thomas of San Diego, Calif., and James Thomas of North Carolina; five sisters, Mary Louise (Harold) Gram, Lena Williams, Diane Johnson, all of Louisville, Minnie Watson of Anchorage, and Dora (Patrick) Moten of Clarksville; a devoted friend and several nieces and a nephew.
Serenity Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
William E. Walton
William E. Walton, 83, of Lakeside Dr., died July 23, 2004, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
A private service will be held at a later date in Florida.
Mr. Walton was a member of the First United Methodist Church and New Chapel Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine; two daughters, Sandra (Kenneth) Chadwick and Sharon Walton of Florida; a step-son, David J. Reed of Springfield; grandchildren, Jennifer Wilkerson (Jason), Wesley (Michelle) Reed, Carl (Tasha) Ehresman, Alexander Lambropoulos, and Alexis (Nabil) Zoutini; great-grandchildren, Amber Ehresman, Michael Ehresman, Amina Zoutini, Jack Wilkerson, Matthew Reed, and Kate Wilkerson.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or to the memorial fund at First United Methodist Church.
Michael Eugene Senter Sr.
Michael Eugene Senter Sr., 56, died July 25, 2004, at 7 p.m.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. at True Vine Baptist Church, 1520 Richard St., Springfield with Rev. Silas P. Gardner officiating.
He was the son of the late Thomas E. and Elsie Grizzard Senter.
He was born Nov. 29, 1948, in Nashville.
He attended Nashville Public Schools and Kentucky State University, where he played in the band.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with First Baptist Church, South Inglewood.
He later joined True Vine Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a long-distance truck driver and tour bus operator for over 30 years.
He drove for Free Enterprize Bus Company, Sodrell Trucking Company, and others.
He sang tenor and baritone with several quartet singing groups throughout the Nashville area.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Senter; daughters, Michelle Hurt, Tracy Porter, Selina Porter and Cynthia Senter; son, Michael Senter Jr.; step-children, Carolyn (Ronald) Demunbreum, Sandra Groves, Gary (Joyce) Williams, Sharon Frazier and Wendolyn Williams; sister, Marion Walton; a brother, Thomas Senter Jr.; nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Charlie Bristow Watts
Charlie Bristow Watts, 80, of Greenbrier, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Quality Healthcare Center in Lebanon.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 29 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Roy T. Sublette and Rev. Joel Jones officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Watts was born February 22, 1924 in Saltillo, Miss. to the late William Arthur and Minnie Sigler Bristow.
She was a homemaker and a member of Woodland Street United Methodist Church.
She was an outstanding basketball player in high school and was recruited by Nashville Business College to play basketball in the 1940’s.
Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Watts.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Lois Jones of Mt. Juliet, Elizabeth and Phillip Johnson of Sarasota, Fla.; brothers, William Glenn Bristow of Tupelo, Miss., James Luther Bristow of Guntown, Miss.; sister, Ann Parker of Nashville; grandchildren, Lauren Jones of Mr. Juliet, and Lori Thompson of Clarksville.

Glenn H. Sherrod
Glenn H. Sherrod, 69, of Springfield, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 28 in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jim Dugas officiating.
Burial followed in Mt. Sharon Cemetery.
Mr. Sherrod was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Robertson County, to the late Mary Lee Sherrod Belcher.
He was a member of Flewellyn Baptist Church and was a mechanic for many years at Hoge Motor Company.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Taylor Sherrod.
Survivors include a son, Jackie Sherrod of Adairville, Ky.; daughters, Angela Goff of Pleasant View, Kimberly Hayes of Springfield, Christy Sherrod of Springfield, Leslie Sherrod of White House, Nicole Minshew of Springfield, and Melonie Dillow of Springfield; a brother, Chuck Belcher of Nashville; a sister, Carol Madden of Nashville; and nine grandchildren.

Vicki Jean Rippie
Vickie Jean Rippie, 46, of Springfield, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 27 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Harrell and Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
She was born April 2, 1958, in Robertson County.
She was a production worker at Collins & Aikman and attended Calvary Bible Church.
Survivors include her husband, James “Bo” Rippy of Springfield; children, Brian and Dana Rippie, both of Springfield; parents, Jimmy and Mary Birdwell Baird of Springfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Terri Baird of Springfield, and Michael and Christie Baird of Nashville.
