Ruth Edna Bissell
Ruth Edna Bissell, 86, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003 at Tennessee Chistian Hospital in Portland.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel with Brad and Ouida Clark officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be Saturday Nov. 1 at Bethany Cumberland Cemetery in Coushatta, La., at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Bissell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was a Morman and a retired nurse.
She is preceded in death by husband, Olton O. Bissell and grandson, Bobby Raye Bissell.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Shelton (Kathy) Bissell of White House; a sister, Ouida Clark of Orem, Utah; nephews, Brad Clark of Orem, Utah and Lawrence Bamburg of Shreveport, La.; a great-grandchild, Bobby Raye Bissell-Cooley.

Mary Evelyn Crawford
Mary Evelyn Reeder Crawford, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Greenbrier on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Vern B. Powers, Dr. Fred Baldwin and Bro. Donnie Bryant officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Crawford taught in the elementary schools in Greenbrier area for 41 years.
She was born Nov. 26, 1911, in Greenbrier to the late William Green and Lattie Ennis Reeder.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elgin Crawford, brothers and sisters, Sherman Reeder, Joseph Reeder, Martin Reeder, Mildred Fyke and Katherine Jones.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Michael and Linda Crawford of Greenbrier; her daughter and son-in-law, Judith C. and James Clifton of Springfield; grandsons, Christopher E. (Julie) Clifton of Greenbrier, Steven M. (Celeste) Clifton of Franklin, Andrew Crawford of Greenbrier; granddaughter, Judith C. (Dave) Meyer of Antioch and seven great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her beloved caregivers, Elizabeth Nipper, Peggy Clouse, Margie Smith, Rhonda Elmore and Sheila Bryant.
Pallbearers were Christopher E. Clifton, Steven M. Clifton, Andrew Crawford, Leroy Nipper, Steve Sorrells and Dave Meyer.
The family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Greenbrier Music Fund or to the Library Fund.

Daniel Leon Corder
Daniel Leon Corder, 44, died at Hill Crest Nursing Home in Ashland City on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003.
Memorial services were held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Springfield with Rev. Bud Hill officiating.
He was a construction heavy equipment operator.
He was born July 7, 1959, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Eldon Leon Corder and Daisy Leisure Corder of Georgia.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Clara Shaffer Corder of Springfield; a son, Bobby Leon Corder of Springfield; brothers, David Corder and Jimmy Corder, both of Florida; Randy Greene of Georgia; sisters, Tina Williams and Peggy Williams, both of Ohio, Debbie Martin of Florida and Mary Alice Lane of Ohio.

Elizabeth Benton
Mattie Elizabeth Willis Benton, 68, of Cross Plains, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Remains are at Serenity Funeral Home in Springfield. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and funeral to follow at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. George Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
She was born March 29, 1935, to the late Ira Willis and Emma Willis.
She united with Beard’s Chapel Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Friendship Baptist Church.
She was a faithful member of the Usher Board, Missionary Society and was recently elected president of the Missionary Society for the National Baptist State Convention of Tennessee.
Sister Benton was united in holy matrimony to the late James T. Benton July 23, 1955.
She is preceded by two children, Thomas Elderidge and Tolliver Wayne.
Survivors include her mother, Emma D. Willis; three sons, James D. Benton of Cross Plains, Joe Benton and Samuel Benton of Madison; six daughters, Vanessa Benton of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Rita (Tony) King of Springfield, Turanda (Robert) Florez of Honolulu, Hawaii, Yolanda Benton of Hendersonville, Linda Benton of Hermitage, and Chasity (Mike) Baker of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws; Jean Brewer, Annie Mae Benton and Jeanette (John) Benton; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

James L. Patterson
James L. Patterson, 74, of Springfield, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Springfield with Rev. Ben Williams officiating.
Burial followed at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Cedar Hill.
He professes a hope in Christ at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Deacon Board and sang with the male Chorus, under the pastorship of Rev. Ben Dillard.
He later united with St. Matthew Holy Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health failed him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Annie Lucus Patterson, two sisters, Annie Williams and Dorothy Coleman and a brother, Robert Patterson.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Jessie Patterson; a step-daughter, Etta (A.C.) Hyde; brothers, Elmo (Virginia) Patterson, Joe (Joanna) Patterson; sisters, Louise (Mike) Holcomb, Lula (Ben) Williams, Mary (Nevel) Blakemore, Peggy Young; four grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews and friends; a devoted friend, Bro. Lawrence West.

Annie M. Calloway
Annie M. Powell Calloway, 84, of Nashville, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003.
Funeral services were held at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday with Elders Bill Hagewood and Shirley Goins officiating.
Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 22, 1919 in Springfield to the late Walter and Nora M. Holman Powell.
Survivors include her sister, Lottie O. Hagewood and sister-in-law Doris Powell, both of Nashville; a host of nieces and nephews.
Garland Ray Binkley
Garland Ray Binkley, 67, died Oct. 22, 2003.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. from the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville chapel with Bro. Norman Slate officiating.
Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
He was retired from Ford Glass Plant in Nashville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Susie Binkley and a brother, Olen Warren Binkley.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Melba Carlisle Binkley; sons, Danny Ray Binkley and Daryl Scott Binkley; daughters, Rhonda Fay Wilbur (Wesley) and Lori Ann Bilbrey (William); seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; brothers, Charles D. Binkley of West Virginia and Forrest L Binkley of Greenbrier.
