Paul James Mitchell
Paul James Mitchell, 78, of Springfield, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m. in Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owen officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday (today) from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Thursday.
Mr. Mitchell was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Robertson County to the late John Milton and Ethel Sherry Mitchell.
He was an insurance salesman for Life of Georgia and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, John, Roy and Joe Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Gamble Mitchell of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James B. and Gloria Mitchell of Damascus, Md.; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Steve Fisher; brothers, Neal Mitchell and Billy Mitchell, all of Springfield; sisters, Jean Scarbough of Springfield and Julia Warren of Florida; grandchildren, Eric (Asha) Mitchell, Zachary Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, Brad Fisher and Bruce Fisher.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund.

Stephen Joe Searcy
Stephen Joe Searcy, 53, of Cross Plains, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at Milldale Chapel with Dr. Ron Lowery officiating.
Interment will follow in the Searcy Cemetery in Portland.
He was born Oct. 25, 1949, in Robertson County to the late Thomas “Jack” and Carrie Deberry Searcy.
He was a Baptist.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Searcy and a sister, Sandra Whitfield.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Howell Searcy of Springfield; sons, Robert Waynick and Stephen Glenn Searcy, both of Springfield; daughters, Christy Cook of Oak Grove, Jennifer Searcy and Melissa Searcy both of Springfield; brothers, Harold Searcy of Portland, Albert Searcy, Billy Searcy and Randy Searcy, all of Cross Plains; sisters, Laura Walker of Portland, Charlotte Long of Cross Plains, Donna Hamm of Clarksville, and Glenda Phillips of Orlinda; five grandchildren.

Oscar Harold Jones
Oscar Harold Jones, 84, of Greenbrier, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today) afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Rose officiating.
Interment followed in Greenbrier Cemetery.
He was born July 3, 1919, in Ava, Ark. To the late James Foster and Nancy Harden Jones.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ridgetop and was a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Kay Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Pippin Jones of Greenbrier; son and daughter-in-law, Lynn H. and Marcy Jones of Greenbrier; a brother, James W. Jones of Texas; grandchildren, Don Smith, Rick (Barbara) Burks; great-grandchildren, Rick (Bonnie) Burks, Bradley Burks and Amber Burks.

Charles Robert Raymer Jr.
Charles Robert Raymer Jr., 67, of Cedar Hill, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday (today) Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with Tim Harris officiating.
Mr. Raymer was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Robertson County to the late Charles Robert and Rosie Mae Douglas Raymer Sr.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Eden and Betty M. Darrow, both of Springfield, and Louise Dean Thompson of Woodward, Okla.

Emma S. Franklin
Emma S. Franklin, 92, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. at Portland Funeral Home.
Interment followed at Old Brush Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 12, 1911, to the late John and Bertha Stout. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil B. Franklin and a son, Billy Steve Franklin.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Linda) Franklin of Goodlettsville; a daughter-in-law, Joan W. Franklin of Portland; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Gene Eidson
Gene Eidson, 63, of New Deal Potts Road died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services and interment is private.
He was a retired cab driver.
Survivors include sisters, Geneva Aiken and Reba Joyce Eidson; and brothers, Bill Eidson and Ray Eidson.

Mary Margaret Cox
Mary Margaret Cox, 61, of Adams, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Dave Brown officiating.
Interment followed in the Baldwin Family Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Springfield to the late Steve and Margaret Long Baldwin Sr.
She was an assistant manager for a lottery store.
She is also preceded in death by brothers, Leonard Baldwin, Steve Baldwin Jr., and sisters, Elsie Wilkins and Betty Woodard.
Survivors include her husband, Frank D. Cox of Adams, sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Janet Cox of Springfield, Calvin and Louanne Cox of Adams, Greg and Wendy Cox of Cedar Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Bettye “Sis” and Henry Winn of Guthrie, Ky., and Gwenn and Kenny Roach of Orlinda; a brother, Richard Baldwin of Springfield; a sister, Joan (Glen) Hardcastle of Old Hickory; and five grandchildren.
