Buddy T. Vaughn
Buddy T. Vaughn, 64, of Springfield, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Rushing officiating.
Interment followed in the Vaughn Family Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Simpson County, Ky.
He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ and former director of CEMC and the Robertson-Cheatham Farmers Co-op.
Mr. Vaughn was a farmer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vaughn of Springfield; daughter, Vicky (Robert) Drake of Springfield; sons, Kent (Michele) Vaughn and Craig (Kathy) Vaughn, all of Springfield and Mike (Shelia) Stovall of Franklin, Ky.; mother, Evelyn Vaughn of Franklin, Ky.; brothers, Cecil Vaughn of Springfield and David Vaughn of Franklin, Ky.; 12 grandchildren.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Felix E. Morris
Felix E. Morris, 83, of Springfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris and Rev. Kyle Slater officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Morris was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Robertson County, to the late Bud and Nellie Harris Morris.
He was a retired truck driver with Porter Brown Limestone and Bill Woodard Trucking.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army, where he served as a ranger in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Wilson Morris of Springfield; sons, James Morris of Ridgetop, Randy Morris of Franklin, Ky., and Michael Morris of Springfield; a daughter, Vickie Morris of Springfield; a sister, Hazel Wilson of Springfield; grandchildren, Sidney Morris, Randy Morris Jr., Nicholas and Megan Carmack.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mary Batts Groves
Mary Batts Anderson Groves, 80, of Orlinda, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Milldale Chapel with Rev. Denny Burchett and Rev. Carl Martin officiating.
The interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Robertson County to the late Cephas R. and Elizabeth Batts Anderson.
She was a retired cardiac technician from the former Jesse Holman Jones Hospital and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Groves was a very active member of the Byrum-Porter Senior Center in Orlinda.
Survivors include her husband, Paul E. Groves of Orlinda; sons, Edwin Austin Groves of Nashville, Andy Groves of Decherd, and Tommy Groves of Orlinda; a brother, Jack Anderson of Portland; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Milldale Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Chatman
Robert Chatman, 48, of Springfield, died Oct. 3, 2003 in an automobile accident near Trenton, Ky.
Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Edward Pulliam officiating.
Survivors, in addition to his father, Richard Chatman, include five brothers, Paul Chatman, Larry Chatman, James Chatman, Richard Chatman and Clifford Chatman, all of Springfield; two sisters, Martha Chatman and Margaret Pulliam, both of Springfield; and special friends, the Barbee Family.
William Malcolm Wise Sr.
William Malcolm Wise Sr., 79, died Oct. 6, 2003.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, (today) Oct. 8, 2003, from the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with Bro. Jack Marten officiating.
Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Wise was a World War II veteran and a former railway postal employee and retired postmaster.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until services at Greenbrier Chapel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Elizabeth Wise.
Survivors include daughters, Vicki (Donnie) West and Debbie Wise; a son William “Bill” Wise Jr.; grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer), Garrett and Trey Wise; a great-granddaughter, Carlee Garrett.

Benny Cero Scott
Benny Cero Scott, 71, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003.
Funeral services were held at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Alan Smith officiating.
Interment followed at Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery on McCrory Lane, Nashville.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Scott; daughter, Debbie Berlin and her husband Mike; grandson, Ian; a sister, Winona Love; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Norman, Will Norman, Teri Cox, Christi Everingham and great-nieces and great-nephews, Jacob, Katy, Amanda, Jessica, Billy Cero, Grant and Faith.
Annie B. Hill
Annie B. Hill, 57, of Rockwood, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at her home.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Paul Purdue and Scotty Goins officiating.
She was a member of Eagle Furnace Baptist Church and has worked as a quality trainer with Berkline Industries.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd “Red” Estelle and Betty Proffitt, grandmother, Patty Hufford, sisters, Patricia Estelle Savage and Linda Sutton.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Hill of Rockwood; daughters, Bonnie Speck and husband, Paul of Springfield, and Robyn Farley and husband, Pat of Fayetteville, N.C.; grandchildren, Shelby Kish and Lauren Speck, Connor, Ashley and Tiffany Farley; sisters, Susie Goins, and Eyvette Parrott, both of Dayton; brothers-in-law, Jackie Hill of Rockwood and David Hill of Oneida; sisters-in-law, Margaret Bowen of Rockwood, Hazel Carr of Houston, Texas, Brenda Carr of Daytona, Fla., Maida Thurman of Spring City, Linda Suttles of Rockwood, and Tammy Perkins of Spring City; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
