Geraldine Witcher Porterfield
Geraldine Witcher Porterfield, 90, formerly of Jackson, Robertson and Davidson counties, died Aug. 19, 2003.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at Hermitage Funeral Home with Bro. Don Loftis of Old Hickory Church of Christ officiating.
Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
She had resided at Ideal Senior Living Center in Endicott, N.Y. for the past two years
She was a member of the Old Hickory Church of Christ in Old Hickory.
She worked many years at Rudy’s in Donelson.
She was the daughter of the late John and Lucy Witcher of Jackson County.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Veldon Porterfield; a son, Anthony; brothers, Floyd, Dewey and Frettis Witcher.
Survivors include sons, Charles Delano (Sara) Porterfield of Apalachin, N.Y., Garry Porterfield of Hereford, Ariz.; a grandson, Charles Anthony (Erika) Porterfield of San Carlos, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Susanne (Jose) Cornado of Austin, Texas.
Hermitage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ronald Henry Thompson
Ronald Henry “Ronnie” Thompson died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003.
His family and friends gathered at Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery for graveside services and interment at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.
Survivors include three sisters, Donna Jo Gilboy, Terry Williams and Jackie Thompson Shinkle; a brother, Jim Thompson; two brothers-in-law, Eddie Gilboy and Leo Shinkle; three children, David, Jonathan and Tyler; four grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

Mary Katherine Barrow Morgan
Mary Katherine Barrow Morgan, 80, of Greenbrier, formerly of the Ashburn community and Paris, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 20 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. John Christian officiating.
The interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
She was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Robertson County, to the late William Arthur and Annie Lou Fuqua Barrow.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and their Kennagers Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry (Hank) Morgan.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Cindy Morgan of Goodlettsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Leon Cothron of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Brittany, Amber and Kay Morgan, nieces, Cindy Warren, Christy Carter and Connie Ruck.

Andrew E. Valosik
Andrew E. Vaolsik, 90, of Goodlettsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at the Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home in Munhall, Pa.
Interment followed in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Valosik was born May 12, 1913, in Homestead, Pa. To the late Andrew and Ann Marcin Valocik.
He was a retired dental technician, where he worked for the Veteran’s Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa. For over 25 years.
He was a professional drummer with the Bama Cardinals in Birmingham, Ala.
Mr. Valosik was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Price Valosik.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Valosik and wife, Gerry of Goodlettsville; brothers, Bob and Milan Valosik, both of Pittsburg, Pa.; grandchildren, James and Vicki Valosik.
Those desiring, may make contributions to the Residence at Alive Hospice in Mr. Valosik’s memory.
Henry W. Sneed
Henry W. Sneed, 70, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at his home.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ken Gillespie and Susan Holman officiating.
Mr. Sneed was born July 25, 1933, in Robertson County, to the late Henry Wilks and Katherine Holman Sneed.
He was a retired off-shore captain and was a United Methodist.
Mr. Sneed was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Draper Sneed
He is survived by his sons, Bryan Sneed of Kansas City, Mo., and Clay Sneed of Springfield; a daughter, Terri Reid of Charleston, S.C.; brothers, Joe Sneed of Meridian, Miss, and Frank Sneed of Springfield; four grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital.

Patsy Jean Bracey
Patsy Jean Bracey, 64, of Greenbrier, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 15 at noon at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Evans officiating.
The interment followed in Rock Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Bracey was born Feb. 9, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Moses and Prudence Gross Fuqua.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bracey was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Lurton Bracey, and by her brother, Bobby Fuqua.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Michelle Bracey of Springfield; Randy and Judy Bracey of Bowling Green, Ky., Ronnie and Suzanne Bracey of Knoxville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Sam Dickerson of Greenbrier; a brother, Harold Fuqua of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Heather Dickerson, Stetson Dickerson, Trevor Dickerson, Lulu Bracey and Patty Bracey; a step-grandson, Weston Adams.

Pauline Gildemeister, 86, of Greenbrier, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Aug 14 at 10 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Martin officiating.
The interment followed in the Greenbrier Cemetery.
Mrs. Gildemeister was born May 18, 1917, in Robertson County to the late James and Lillie Rice Reese.
She was retired waitress and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Gildemeister; brothers, Carlton and Leonard Reese.
Mrs. Gildemeister is survived by step-daughters, Shirley Lentine and Joan Pirozzoli, both of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Howard Reese of Ashland City; a sister, Elizabeth Coleman of Greenbrier; several nieces and nephews.
