Joe Anderson Gunn
Joe Anderson Gunn, 77, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at St. Thomas Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 26 at 1:30 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owen officiating.
Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville, Ky.
Mr. Gunn was born in Orlinda Dec. 7, 1925, to the late Roy and Alma Burr Gunn.
He was a manager for U.S. Tobacco for over 35 years.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and obtained the rank of Tech. Sgt. while in Germany.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janie Sue Gunn.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Gunn Yates of Cross Plains and Martha Gunn Ralston of Springfield; a nephew, Robert H. Ralston; and nieces, Ann R. Price and Amy R. Gallagher, all of Springfield.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clarice Leona Jones
Clarice Leona Jones, 89, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 26 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House at 2 p.m. with Bro. Lowell Harris officiating.
Interment followed at Cawthon Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Martin Jones.
She is survived by daughter, Jo Ann (James) Broadrick and Joyce Davis; grandchildren, Ritta (Eric) Willis, Jimmy (Vicki) Broadrick, Jon Davis, Steve Palmer; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home White House, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Edna Durham
Mary Edna Durham of Adams, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Alford and Rev. Ken Gillespie officiating.
The interment followed in the Bellwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Durham was born in Lincoln County, to the late Bartley E. and Celia Estelle McNatt Hamlin.
She was a member of the Adams United Methodist Church, the Adams Women’s Club, United Methodist Women, and was a past member and president of the Brandywine Women’s Club in Old Hickory.
Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her brothers, Jackie and John M. “Sonny” Hamlin.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Durham of Adams; sons, Dennis E. Smith of Adams and Tommy Durham of Old Hickory; daughter, Celia Bellar of Adams; brothers, Benny Hamlin of Benton, La. and Kenny Hamlin of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Chris, Joshua and Mary Beth Smith and Abby Hayes.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dustin Lenley Posey
Dustin Lenley Posey, 14, of Springfield, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 27 at South Haven Baptist Church with Pastor Frank Gagliano officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Dustin was born Nov. 14, 1988, in Huntsville, Ala., and was a member of South Haven Baptist Church.
He is survived by parents, Bart and Angie Posey of Springfield; brothers, B.J. and Zach Posey, both of Springfield; a sister, Heather Posey of Springfield; grandparents, D.L. and Patsy Posey of Springfield, Gerald and Brenda Slavey of Smyrna; great-grandparents, Jay and Joyce Gullette of Smyrna; uncles, David Posey of London, Ky., and Jeff Posey of Springfield; and an aunt, Joe Parker of Murfreesboro.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Hulon Whitehead
William (Billy) Hulon Whitehead, 75, of Springfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Evans officiating.
The interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Whitehead was born June 4, 1927, in Robertson County to the late Hulon and Jennie Mac Kirk Whitehead.
He was a Mason for 50 years, a Baptist and a heavy equipment specialist.
He is survived by twins, George E. Whitehead of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Billie Jean Whitehead of Jacksonville, Fla; twins, William Whitehead of Whites Creek, and Robert Whitehead of Colstrip, Mont.; a daughter, Jane Ann Whitehead Swain; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Michael Johnson Knap
Michael Johnson Knap, 47, of Cross Plains, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owen officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Fernandoi Miranda, Dr. Michel Kuzur, Dr. Jayesh Patel, Dr. Murray Arons, Skyline Medical Center Staff and Charles McMann.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Knap and step-mother, Mary Knap.
Mr. Knap is survived by his father, Walter Knap, wife, Carol Knap, son, Jason (Rebecca) Knap; daughter, Jennifer Knap; grandmother, Beatrice Johnson; brothers, Mark (Sandy) Knap, Mike (Carol) Williams; a grandson, Journey Knap; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Earl and Jean Swann; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville was in charge of arrangements.

Billy Wayne Nicholson
Billy Wayne Nicholson, 61, died Jan. 27, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29 (today) at 1 p.m. at Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Riggs and Rev. John Gibbs officiating.
Burial will follow in Good Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Mr. Nicholson was born April 24, 1941, the son of the late Bob Taylor and Willie Mai Nicholson.
He was a farmer and a member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Barry Wayne Nicholson, brothers, Jerry Ray Nicholson and James Albert Nicholson, sisters, Sally Pearl Hardy and Shirley Ann Perry.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Rachel Nicholson; a daughter, Tammy Jo Garza and husband, Freddie, of Pleasant View; a son, Timothy Wayne Nicholson and wife, Beverly, of Coopertown; grandson, Zachariah Garza of Pleasant View; sisters, Alma Moore of Springfield, Alice Lawson of Pleasant View, Maydene Pendergraft of Nashville; brothers, Robert Nicholson Jr., W.H. Nicholson, J.W. Nicholson and Paul Nicholson, all of Pleasant View; many nieces and nephews.
Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
