Sarah Elizabeth Carney
Sarah Elizabeth Carney, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Moore Cottage.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Slater officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carney was born May 27, 1918, in Robertson County to the late Charles Samuel and Alice Corah Harden McIntosh.
She was a retired machine operator for Acme Boot and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Robert Carney, daughters, Peggy Dulley and Sue Murphy, brothers, Charles, James and Don McIntosh, grandchildren, Robert Murphy and Douglas Dewayne Gamble, and a great-grandchild, Candie Boyles.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Vernon Ray and Phyllis Carney of Clarksville; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Burton Woodard of Springfield, Mae and Claude Gamble of Springfield, Patricia and Billy Joe Biggs of Pleasant View, Betty Dixon of Orlinda, Evelyn Parker of Murfreesboro, Louise and Jackie Brothers of Springfield, Ruth and J.R. Holmes of Hendersonville; loving grandson and wife, Wayne and Tammy Smithson; sisters, Ruth Whitehead, and Mary Felts of Springfield, and Martha Ford of Greenbrier; 22 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Cassie Dean Mason
Cassie Dean Mason, 97, died Jan. 8, 2003, at Morningside of Springfield.
A memorial service was held Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church.
She had willed her body to Vanderbilt Medical School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Elmer Mason, and a grandson, David Mason Bibb.
She is survived by a son, Sidney Dean Mason (Dale) of Rocky Mount, Va.; a daughter, Marian M. Bibb (Forrest) of Springfield; grandchildren, Betty Mason Thorp (Dave) of Rocky Mount, Va., Thomas Warren Mason (Becky) of Roanoke, Va., Carol Bibb Jamison (Ben) of Murfreesboro, Marianne Mason Jordan (Bill) of Fuqua-Varina, N.C., Bob Bibb (Kim) of Springfield, and Martha Dale Williams (Kirk) of Springfield; 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family requests memorials be made to the building fund of Springfield Baptist Church or to NorthCrest Hospice.
Robertson County Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

James Wayne Morris
James Wayne Morris, 64, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Shockley officiating.
Mr. Morris was born in Robertson County Jan. 19, 1938.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Morris of Barren Plains; two sons, Jeff W. and wife, Tomilynn Morris of Barren Plains and Buster Morris, also of Barren Plains; three grandchildren, Ashley Morris of Springfield, Dusty Morris of Barren Plains, and Ben Armistead of Cedar Hill; mother, Cecil Morris of Springfield; brother, Alford Morris of Springfield, sisters, Abbiegail Jackson of Cedar Hill, Faye Hall of Cross Plains, and Johnnie Hand of Springfield.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Billy Lee Wilkerson
Billy Lee Wilkerson, 50, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 12 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Evans officiating.
Mr. Wilkerson was cremated.
He was born Feb. 12, 1952, in Robertson County to Walter L.B. Wilkerson of Goodlettsville and the late Dorothy H. Adams Wilkerson.
He is survived by two sons, Timmy Wilkerson of Greenbrier and Shane Wilkerson; a daughter, Jennifer Reynolds of Springfield; brothers, Freddie Wilkerson of Goodlettsville, Rocky Wilkerson and Chris Wilkerson, both of Springfield; sisters, Lynn Burnette of Greenbrier and Debbie Head of Springfield.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Agnes Elaine Christian
Agnes Elaine Christian, 86, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at the Madison Health Care Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 11 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier, with Bro. Bob Jared and Pastor Donna Parramore officiating.
The interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Christian was born April 22, 1916, in Lafayette, to the late Alfred and Bertha Brooks Knight.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Orville Jackson Christian.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn and Bill Davis of Madison; two grandchildren, Derrick Alley and Jessica Davis; two nieces and a nephew; and a sister, Sue Ledbetter of Greenbrier.
Pallbearers were Coy Parchman, Eugene Crutcher, Will McClurken, Ted Smiley, Larry Crawford and Bob Crawford.
Members of the Gideon United Methodist Church was designated as honorary pallbearers.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marvin Douglas Brown
Marvin Douglas Brown, 52, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003.
Memorial services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Jack Martin officiating.
Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Michael C. Brown of White House; brothers, Charles Brown, and James H. Brown; and a sister, Dorothy Carney, all of Greenbrier.
Austin & Bell Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Porter T. Lassiter
Porter T. Lassiter, 50, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. David Royalty and Pastor Barry Voorhires officiating.
Burial followed Tuesday, Jan. 14 in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram.
He was born Aug. 28, 1952.
Mr. Lassiter is survived by his mother, Mildred Smith Lassiter of Springfield; daughter, Ashley Lassiter of Paris; son, Billy Lassiter of California; step-daughters, Tonya Wilmore and Christy Binkley of Greenbrier; sisters, Krisandra Thomas of Joelton, Patricia Trotter of Springfield, and Terry Johnson of Atlanta; and a special friend, Linda Zachary of Paris.
Pallbearers for the service were Robert Johnson, Dwight Thomas, Curtis Lassiter, Laurence Lassiter, Thomas Lassiter and Randy Stewart.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.
