Annie Jamison Batey
Services for Mrs. Annie Jamison Batey, 86, Blackman community, who died Tuesday, June 9, at NHC Healthcare after an extended illness, are set for 1 p.m. Friday at Blackman United Methodist Church with burial in Bass-Batey Cemetery on the family farm. The Rev. Maurice Moore and the Rev. Howard Haynes will officiate.
A native of Davidson County, her parents were the late Henry Downs and Marguerite Spain Jamison Sr., and her husband was John L. Batey Sr., who died in 1990.
She is survived by a son, John L. Batey Jr. of Blackman; daughter, Marguerite B. Brainerd of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Blackman United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church building fund.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Services for Mrs. Emma W. Thompson Benford, 49, Louisville, Ky., formerly of Murfreesboro, who died Tuesday, June 9, at Vencor Hospital, Louisville, are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Richard W. Gordon will officiate.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Benford of Louisville; mother, Muise Thompson of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Melanie Benford, Marchant Benford, Marnita Benford; two sons, Lamar Thompson, Melvin Benford Jr.; a brother, Lorenzo Thompson; three sisters, Robbie Ferguson, Martha Lee, and Melba Simmons; two great-grandmothers, Bessie Adams of Murfreesboro, and Helen Smith of Shelbyville..
Visitation will be held at noon Saturday at the church.
The remains are at Scales & Sons Funeral Home.

John Thomas Wilson
Services for John Thomas Wilson, 65, of Elliott Drive, who died Thursday, June 11, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jerry Mayo, the Rev. John Sessoms, the Rev. John Mark Williams, and the Rev. Chip Hunter will officiate.
His parents were the late Rufus B. Wilson and Geraldine Hoover Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Ross Wilson of Murfreesboro; two sons, Rick Wilson, Tim Wilson, both of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Sandy Bugg of Murfreesboro; and five grandchildren.
A member of the First United Methodist Church, a cryptographer in the U.S. Army and a 32nd Degree Mason, he was co-owner of Prudential Rowland & Wilson Realty, and co-founder of Mortgage Acceptance Corporation of Murfreesboro. He had been in land development the past 25 years.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Nina Parker Piercy
Services for Nina Parker Piercy, 88, Lawndale Drive, who died at home Thursday, June 11, after an extended illness, are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Havron's Chapel Cemetery, Jasper. John Euton will officiate.
A native of Birmingham, Ala., her parents were the late Jesse Ballenger and Mary "Polly" Lee Condra Parker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Baldwin Piercy; a daughter, Martha Lee Piercy; and two sons, Carroll Baldwin Piercy Jr., and Samuel Creed Piercy.
She is survived by three sons, Harold Bart Piercy of Murfreesboro, Carter Clyde Piercy of Bell Buckle, Rex Wilson Piercy of Brooks, Ga.; two daughters, Nan Brooks Piercy of Murfreesboro, Joann Piercy Mayfield of Nashville; 17 grandchildren.; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
An honorary staff member of the Tennessee AFL-CIO and member of the TVA retirement system, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 6362, and the First Baptist Church, she was a direct descendent of King Robert I of Scotland. She was also a member of Clan Graham Society, Council Scottish Clans Associations, Clans and Scottish Societies of Canada. She had lived here the past 20 years.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Joe Allison Conatser
Services for Joe Allison "Chalk" Conatser, 75, Lebanon, who died Thursday, June 11, at University Medical Center, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Joe Gray will officiate.
His parents were the late Joe Conatser and Elizabeth Hunt Conatser.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dean Russell Conatser; daughter, Joyce Braswell of Murfreesboro; four sisters, Aline Watson of Nashville, Margaret Spears of Lebanon, Elsie Beasley of Lebanon, Sue Estes of Lebanon; and three grandsons.
A member of the Baptist church, he was a farmer and a carpenter.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William Clift Whitesell
Services for William Clift Whitesell, 83, Lewisburg, who died Wednesday, June 10, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Bills-McGaugh & Floyd Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. The Rev. Claude McMillion will officiate.
His parents were the late George Ollie Whitesell and Etta Mai Davis Whitesell.
He is survived by a son, Bill Whitesell of Murfreesboro; brother, George O. Whitesell of Florida; and two grandchildren, Aaron Whitesell and Emily Whitesell of Murfreesboro.
A native of Alabama, and a veteran of World War II, he was retired from the purchasing department at Walker Die Casting, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Frank Edwin Stockard

He is survived by his wife, Clementyne Coleman Stockard; a daughter, Sarah Stockard Fox of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, John Gentry Stockard of Thonotosassa, Fla., Thomas William Stockard of Murfreesboro; a sister, Sara Mingle of Gallatin; and one grandson.
A member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a 1948 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School, he was in the tire business in Middle Tennessee, Cleveland, Ohio, and Corpus Christi, Texas, for 34 years before he retired.
Memorials may be made to his church or to Hospice of Murfreesboro.
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

His parents were the late Issac and Juliette Crouch Newhouse.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bugg Nichols Newhouse of Woodbury; a son, Stephen Nichols of Woodbury; a daughter, Joy Nichols Pope of Woodbury; and five brothers, Paul Bugg of La Vergne, Alfred O. Bugg of Woodbury, Roy Floyd of Manchester, Doyle McConnell of Manchester and Ben Hartsfield of Woodbury.
A member of West High Church of Christ, he was a veteran of World War II and a retired truck driver.

Richard Faulk
Services for Mr. Richard Faulk, 48, who died Thursday at St. Thomas Hospital of cancer, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, with Gary Taylor officiating.
A native of Nashville, Mr. Faulk was the son of Helen Johnson Thomas and Woodrow Faulk of Murfreesboro. He is survived by his mother and by a son, Joseph Faulk of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Heather Faulk of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Larry Faulk of Cherokee, N.C., Tracy Faulk of Smyrna and Roger Faulk of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Elaine Burton and Shelia Neal, both of Murfreesboro, and Ruth Boone of Smyrna; and one grandson.
Mr. Faulk was a member of the Baptist Church. He worked as an assembler for Peterbilt and was a Vietnam veteran.
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. today at Woodbury Funeral Home.
