Dot Leverette, 74, of Unionville, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, in Shelbyville after an extended illness. She was a native of Davidson County and was a daughter of the late Johnny and Rosetta Rusher Tillman. She was a member of the Rover Baptist Church and a member of the Bedford County Senior Citizens. She retired after 25 years of service at Community School working as a food service technician.
She was preceded in death by husband Virgil O'Neal Leverette, who died in March of 2003; a son, Johnny Leverette, who died in June of 2003; and two great-grandsons: Darrin Leverette and Perry Woodruff.
She is survived by daughter Pam Hirt, of Shelbyville; sons Ronnie Leverette, of Murfreesboro, and Jason Leverette, of Unionville; daughter-in-law Wilma Leverette, of Unionville; sister Jenny Brake, of Unionville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Charles (Chuck) Ivie Burns Jr., 53, of Rockvale, died Thursday, October 7, 2004, at his home.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Charles Ivie and Patricia Dougherty Burns, of Rockvale. He is also survived by sisters Dixie Ivylyn Burns, Crystal Burns Leathers and Patricia Helen Johnson, all of Rockvale; grandmother Mrs. Mary Shell, of Rockvale.
Mr. Burns was a graduate of Rockvale High School and a truck driver.

Ralph Edward Williams, 47, of Rockvale, died Monday, October 4, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A native of West Virginia, he was the son of Ralph and Faye Williams, of West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by wife Anna Nall Williams; son Ralph Williams Jr., of Murfreesboro; brothers Bob Williams, of West Virginia, and Darrell Williams, of North Carolina; sister Ruth Williams, of West Virginia; five grandchildren.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Baptist church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a truck driver/owner. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Williams, who died Dec. 1, 1999.

Jessie B. Blanton, 80, of Unionville, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Mr. Blanton was a native of Bedford County and a son of the late Willie Houston and Mattie Ethlyn "Effie" Pressgrove Blanton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and the recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Mr. Blanton was a retired chief of the Shelbyville Police Department and also a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Holden Blanton, who died in 1999.
He is survived by daughter Mrs. Judy Stocstill, of Shelbyville; sons Randy Beasley Blanton, of Murfreesboro, and Jerry Wayne Blanton, of Unionville; brother Sammie L. Blanton, of Unionville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Duncan Smith, 90, died Monday, September 27, 2004, at Tennessee Veteran’s Home.
A native of the Salem Community, he was the son of the late Dr. Sidney B. & Lucy Currey Smith.
He is survived by wife Helen Tucker Smith; son Roger E. (Patty) Smith, of Murfreesboro; son Charles C. (Sherry) Smith, of Murfreesboro; sister Mary Eastman Baggenstoss, of Loudon, Tn; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by four brothers, Sidney, Jr., Austin, Roger and Leonard Smith; and four sisters Margaret Brandon, Currey Hollowell, Ruth Yeargan, and Lucia Muse.
He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the State of Tenn and a farmer. Mr. Smith served in the Tennessee State Legislature in 1950-51. He was a charter member of the Rutherford County Sportsman Club and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He attended MTSU.

Ishmeal Eugene Flippo, 78, of Bell Buckle, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at his home.
A native of Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Alex and Rosa Woodall Flippo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Flippo.
He is survived by daughters Priscilla Lehman of Spartanburg, S.C., and Brenda Gowins of Midland-Fosterville; son Jackie Flippo of Murfreesboro; brothers Belton Flippo and Bud Flippo, both of Longview; sister Sadie Jones of Unionville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Flippo was retired from the Murfreesboro Water Department and a member of the Baptist church.
Harry M. Patillo, 85, of Eagleville, died Tuesday Jan. 13, 2004, at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield.
A native of Murfreesboro, he was the son of the late Thomas and Dora Dill Patillo.
He is survived by daughter Charlotte (Jim) Gray, of Springfield; and son John Patillo, of Eagleville; and grandchildren Deborah Gray, Michael (Rachel) Gray and Johnathan Gray.
Mr. Patillo was preceded in death by his wife, Lilliam Webb Patillo, who died in 1994. He was a member of the Eagleville Church of Christ. Mr. Patillo began first grade at MTSU, then called the Normal School, moved to Central High School, then called the Training School, and then on to Smyrna High, where he graduated in 1934. After serving in the Air Force in World War II in the chemical warfare division between 1942 and 1946, he was discharged, having attained the rank of sergeant.
He was postmaster of the Eagleville post office for 35 years. Mr. Patillo said the biggest changes in the postal system were the zip codes. During the last 10 years before his retirement, he became a training officer and was sent all over Tennessee, giving instructions to new postmasters in the area. After retirement, Mr. Patillo spent many hours working on his farm and raising black angus cattle. He was an active member of the Eagleville Lions Club and he was the only active charter member.
Hailey Rain Faircloth-Shutes, infant, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004. She was the daughter of James Richard Shutes and Ashley Noel Faircloth, both of Smyrna.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents Dorris and Phylis Faircloth, both of Murfreesboro, Michael “Bo” and Regina Jacobs, both of Unionville, and Richard M. Shutes, of Texas; great-grandparents Florence Strickland Hammock, of Smyrna, Ga., and Wilfred J. LaFrance, of Unionville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mildred Yvonne Gordon, 55, of Woodbury died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, after an extended illness.
A native of Shelbyville, Mrs. Gordon was the daughter of Ruby and Herlie Gilbert Parsons of Unionville. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother.
She was preceded in death by her son, Clinton Graham Gordon.
Survivors include her parents; her husband, Charles Gordon Jr.; daughter Robin Yvette Baker of Unionville; brother Derrel (Brenda) Parsons of Shelbyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William Roy Trail, 58, of Allen Avenue in Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Earl Dayton and Audie Mae Brown Trail.
He is survived by wife Maggie King Trail; son Garry Whitley, of Murfreesboro; daughters Tammy Adams, of Auburntown, and Rita Ladd, of Rockvale; brother Billy Trail, of Murfreesboro; sisters Earlene Bush, of Murfreesboro, and Flora Mae Messick, of Shelbyville; grandchildren Danah Whitley, Ashley and Daniel Ladd, B.J. and Brianna Adams.
Mr. Trail attended Woodbury Road Baptist Church and was founder and owner of R & M Surplus Sales.
